Can someone explain to me Kates blue sash and fancy pendants that she wears for the diplomatic reception? Didnt she get those at the same time?

The yellow bow with the image of the Queen is Queen Elizabeth II’s Royal Family Order. The Royal Family Order is given from the monarch to female members of the family to honour their work. There’s no real criteria for the award, and it is given out when the Queen thinks it should be (when she dies, there will be a new family order for Charles, then Will, etc.) They are normally made from ivory, but due to William’s stance on the ivory trade, Catherine’s is made from glass. I think Catherine is likely to be the last person to get the Queen’s order.

The Duchess of Gloucester

The Countess of Wessex

The Duchess of Cornwall

The Duchess of Cambridge

The blue sash marks Catherine is a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO). It recognises service to the monarch of the Commonwealth, members of the monarch's family, or to any viceroy or senior representative of the monarch. There is no limit on the number of individuals honoured and admission is, again, at the discretion of the monarch. Catherine has the highest honour (Dame or Knight Grand Cross)

it is the Royal Victorian Order, GCVO (Dame Grand Cross) level.. it is an order to represent personal service to the monarch..

and yep I can see Kate getting it eventually
