if you have any, what are your reasons for your favorite salmon map to be well, your favorite?
and i'm talking about every map added since 2, not just the ones in 3
#last night me and some friends were talking about our favorite salmon maps and for what reasons we liked them#for example mine is salmonid smokeyard#I like how quickly you can get to point A to B and the multiple ways you can get there + escape routes (high tide being an exception)#spawn points for new enemies such as fish stick and big shot are pretty tame compared to the other returning s2 maps + luring is stupid ez#plus other reasons that are too long to explain here in the tags#it feels compact without feeling too overly cramped y'know?#now is it on par with the newer maps? mmm debatable#cause it at times does suffer with some of the same problems I have with bay and grounds#fighting the kings esp on high tide is...an experience...#but other than some gripes I still love it and it's still my fave <3#splatoon#splatoon 3#salmon run#salmon run next wave#you can also put your least fave if you want to :]

I feel like the Calamari Inkantation 3MIX in Return of the Mammalians story mode reached some of the salmonids
#splatoon#splatoon 3#I think it was during a goldie seeking wave when I noticed this (tried getting other pictures before reaching 200 EVP)#I wish there was a better way to look at what’s inside those floating cages on the new salmon run map bonerattle arena#because I couldn’t tell if it just the food motif they usually have in the background#or salmonids who are being punished now curious about life outside of their not being afraid of getting eaten culture#I just noticed the anti inklings signs by the drawing in the first post#and now I’m just 🤯

ALRIGHT WITH CHILL SEASON COMING UP AND BIG RUN IMMINENT IT MIGHT BE TIME FOR A REFRESHER SO- TIPS FOR NEW SALMON RUNNERS:
1. Flyfish suck, and I’m glad y’all learn that fast, but so do drizzlers and steelheads. If you don’t have room to move around, you’re toast. Focus on the bosses giving you the most trouble first. While flyfish are usually pesky little buggers, they’re not the biggest problem when you’ve got four steel eels out on high tide.
2. Keep an eye out for your teammates, and if they’re using a weapon that’s less good at dealing with hordes, help them out. Teamwork is key, they’ll appreciate it, and you’re both more likely to survive the wave.
3. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF COD KNOW YOUR BOSSES. Maws can be one-shot with bombs, and I’m like 99% sure it’s covered in the tutorial, but I don’t see a lot of new squids doin it. If you find yourself struggling, sometimes you just need a little refresher from the manual. :>
4. Communicate. This way, Booyah, and Help are our only audio signals, so use them liberally! Wanna thank somebody for saving you? Booyah! Need help with a horde, a boss, or a surplus of eggs? This way! Get downed and your team is focused elsewhere? Help! Make sure to talk to your team, and listen for when they need a hand.
5. Have fun, and remember to take breaks!
Alright that’s it, stay fresh and don’t get bonked on the head too many times.
