i have a sudden adult!miquella (trina) hc which can be seen as a crack (yes it is a beard) but it rents free in my head so finally I feel like sharing so, a concept: miquella (trina) with byzantine basileus image and attributes
there are MANY byzantine homages in elden ring itself and sometimes they are pretty direct. however, those designs of mine aren’t well adapted to the lands between aesthetics but I think they are illustrative enough even just in terms of vibes
(also malenia as a varangian guard reference just tastes pretty good imo)

Finished art of my tarnished Sura, an albinauric cleric of Saint Trina. She dreams of a world set right under Miquella’s Eclipse.

How much do you want to bet that Messmer isn’t Miquella’s other half but rather Godywn’s spirit. Considering some of the Empyreans we know of have a male and female counterpart similar to the rebis in alchemy, such as Marika and Radagon, we already know that Miquella has St. Trina as his female counterpart.
I know this might sound a bit whack and I don’t have a solid theory but Godwyn was heavily associated with dragons whilst alive, and Messmer seems to have extremely strong links with dragons, namely the dragon communion eyes and having armour similar to the Drake Knight set. Also Placidusax and Fortissax use spears of lightning, Fortissax taught Godwyn how to wield lightning which would likely look like their spears as well, and Messmer uses a spear and can summon spears from the ground.
Also the fire that Messmer summons seems to have thorns coming out of it that seem similar to the Death Blight thorns, and Godwyn is shown to be the cause of Death Blight in the Lands Between.
We know that Miquella is tied to Castle Sol whose aim was to bring forth the eclipse, and the spirit says that Miquella’s comrade remains “soulless.” Bringing forth an eclipse would cast the land in shadows, and Messmer appears to be the ruler of the Land of Shadows, based on the official art of him on a throne. Also also Castle Sol and the Haligtree are near the Consecrated Snowfield where there are the impaled corpses of dead giants, so it’s likely that Messmer is at least linked to it.
This isn’t a fully formed theory so if anyone has any other ideas to add on to this I’d be more than happy to read them.

I can't seem to find any in-game hint to support the widely accepted Miquella=St Trina theory, except maybe the lilies ?
Could anyone explain what I'm missing ?

My brother will keep his promise. He possesses the wisdom, the allure, of a god - he is the most fearsome Empyrean of all.

Lore accurate St. Trina (based on the appearance shown on theirs torch lol)
I’m soooo tired. But I’m still working on yet another illustration for this challenge with Godwyn. Just want it to look good in the end, but I need much more time than a few free hours a day :P

Saint Trina’s Robe:
“Saint Trina was rumored to have an Omen who sought their hand. Some say this was not a lover at all, but a monster who sought to use the Saint’s power for ill. Others say the Saint bewitched the Omen with their allure and used them to slake their curiosity of the carnal and unsaintly. Fewest still say the Saint and this Omen were truly lovers.
For even Omens, Misbegotten, and Albinaurics were beautiful in Saint Trina’s eyes.
Magic yet lingers in the robe, leaving the wearer clearer of mind.”

🗡️ Saint George and the Dragon retold by Margaret Hodges, illustrated by Trina Schart Hyman
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Retold from Edmund Spencer’s FAERIE QUEENE, the story of a brave knight who battles a vicious dragon, retold by Margaret Hodges in exquisite prose and illustrated by the wonderful Trina Schart Hyman who creates the atmosphere for the story.
This is a classic dragon story, probably the most classic English dragon story. I loved Margaret Hodges’s writing style, which really opened up the story, paired with Trina’s surrounding artwork. I initially picked up this book just for Trina’s artwork, since it is always so immersive.
My only qualm with the story (why I gave it 3 ⭐️ instead of 4 ⭐️) is that since its retold from a larger story, you feel like you’re starting in the middle, and that feeling is still there by the end.

I just found out I've heard 'comely' be used sarcastically so often that i just straight up didn't know what it actually meant. I thought it meant ugly in a plain or mousy way. No it means 'nice to look at'

Ava basically told Trina that she's the it girl and anyone who isn't a little in love with her is blind or dumb. She just gets it.
