WIP WEDNESDAY (or whenevs)

1. Complexions

Who could've seen this coming

So I'm a little biased when it comes to character traits and I clearly have a specific Brand of Boy that I like to make. My two best boys, Valen and Vesper, getting absolutely drenched in freckles and gold and under-eye bags.

2. Preternatural Worldbuilding Lore

I am also finally putting all of my worldbuilding lore together into one template. It centers around my preter/supernatural OCs. Essentially how I made my vampires and werewolves work in a Cyberpunk world. Here's a snippet:

"As an autonomous city and a multicultural hub, Night City has also become a multispecies metropolis. One of the only places in the NUSA where there are treaties between various preternatural species that keep in-fighting to a minimum, Night City exists as a sort of safe haven for various entities. The largest of those groups being the vampire and werewolf populations. Historically, these two groups have been regarded as enemies of each other and normally there would be various conflicts between them for various reasons. But within NC, these large-scale conflicts are rare. There are still the odd, small skirmishes between groups, but they rarely lead to damage or destruction of life on a mass scale.

Part of the reason for this peace and tolerance in Night City is because of an underworld council that governs many of the groups in and around the city. This council operates on the basis of peacekeeping - they will hear out grievances between groups and offer solutions, and will keep an ear to the ground on any potential conflicts. There are multiple branches scattered across the globe, but none have been as successful as mediating between the populations under their guard as the one established in NC." To Be Cont'd

Also putting together the most comprehensive OC profile yet on a 7 page template 👁👁 It'll start with Valen, of course, and is gonna have things like history, current canon, biometrics etc etc. Here's half of the first page and I am so excited to share the entire thing <3

Valentin can also be reaaally stubborn and jealous at time!

He's a sensible boy, often dealing with mood swings; you could talk with the usual bubbly, sunny Val' in the morning and get hit with a brooding, cold gaze in the after-noon, all because he overheard some gonks talking about his past as a wraith, or because he couldn't figure out what wasn't working earlier during his shift.

Everyone knows that Valentin's filters totally vanish when drunk, but his lack of tact can be noticeable during certain sobber conversations- he can be clumsy with his words, and hurt people unintentionally.

He does not forget, nor forgive; he holds grudges passively, not letting it ruin his life more than it already did in the past, but bringing up those subjects can make Valentin spiral down in his own memories for some time until he brooms them back where they came from.

1. Are you named after anyone?

I'm named after one of my mom's closest friends. Growing up she was Big E and I was Little E.

2. When was the last time you cried?

A week ago, I wasn't doing too hot in the brain space.

3. Do you have kids?

I have a fur baby. No plans to have real children.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Unfortunately 🤣

5. What sports do you play/have you played?

I am not a sport person. I played what I was forced to play in school gym class and that was it.

6. What's the first thing you notice about other people?

Their general aesthetic. There's a lot of variety and diversity out there, people are fun to look at and watch. I don't really approach or talk to people often so what they look like is about all I notice.

7. Eye color?

Bluish green? I guess

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings, I'm not a fan of horror films.

9. Any special talents?

Panicking about little things, that's a talent right? Otherwise no, nothing that stands out. I used to be able to toss pizza dough but that was years ago.

10. Where were you born?

Frankfurt, Germany. My parents were deployed overseas at the time.

11. What are your hobbies?

Playing videogames, VP on occasion, sometimes I doodle when I'm feeling like it. Eventually I'll be picking up camping and hiking.

12. Do you have any pets?

A kitty cat. Three once we're in a bigger place.

13. How tall are you?

A whopping 5'4" (162cm)

14. Fave subject in school?

Art, History if the teacher was any good.

15. Dream job?

One that won't wear me to the bone, and pays enough to travel when I'd like.

1. are you named after anyone?

A character from a book but I cannae remember which now.

2. when was the last time you cried?

About a week ago. Got overwhelmed and had to have a sob about it.

3. do you have kids?

None at all and I intend to keep it that way.

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

No, never, not once in my life before.

5. what sports do you play/have you played?

Softball, volleyball, track and field. I do kinda miss them sometimes, especially softball.

6. what's the first thing you notice about other people?

How they make me feel. My gut intuition is the first thing I pay attention to and if someone makes me feel weird, I walk the other direction.

7. eye color?

Light-ish brown.

8. scary movies or happy endings?

I'm not a big fan of horror movies, I can really only handle ghost ones because the gore in most just squick me out 😅 so I'll say happy endings.

9. any special talents?

I function really well in high stress situations??? Is that a special talent

10. where were you born?

Western Canada, cowboy country.

11. what are your hobbies?

Creating art in many different forms; writing, virtual photography, drawing, painting, digital art, tattoo design. Plus video games, hiking, camping, etc etc.

12. do you have any pets?

Three whole cats.

5'11"/180cm

14. fave subject in school?

Art and English.

15. dream job?

I do not dream of labour ghehdhs I would say it's any job that allows me the time to enjoy my life still and also the money to buy a coffee everyday/to buy gifts for my loved ones whenever I feel like it. I just want a job that lets me live.

last art this year

was supposed to be for pride month but— ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── 𝓉𝑜 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒷𝑒𝓉𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝒻𝓊𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒.

some lore surrounding these two that is too long overdue but 🤷‍♂️

not as detailed and rambly as i’d like it to be, but i’m really burned out and i’m trying to get back to it🧍‍♂️

nevermind it’s pretty rambly lol

all the way back in 2038 Vincent and Ray, after dating for around two years, agreed to leave California together on august 21st — Ragan’s birthday; it was supposed to be his birthday gift of sorts, a start of a new chapter, new life;

buuut Vince, being a little shit teenager, got cold feet (in Ray’s eyes, Vince always justified that as being rational) and ditched him last minute, not showing up in their agreed spot, making Ragan leave on his own after hours of waiting.

this caused Ray to despite his own birthdate, it always reminding him of the heartbreak and betrayal. 🧍‍♂️

Vincent has felt guilty ever since, but firmly believed it was the right choice. he was never fit to live a nomadic lifestyle at such a young age.

four decades later their paths cross again and a long healing journey ensues.

so now this date is pretty bittersweet to both of them 🧍‍♂️ but it gets better overtime

basically right person, wrong time

although i think if they did ran away together then, it wouldn’t have ended good at all 🤷‍♂️ with Vince still being pretty immature emotionally, still struggling with some inner personal things (family stuff, internalized homophobia, etc.) and not familiar with the nomadic culture and ways of living. they’d probably get in bad fights more and more as the time would go on, and eventually split. Vince would’ve decided to go back to Night City probably (if he ever would make it back) and they’d never end up back together has they met in the future.

their separation allowed them to grow and mature on their own, in their own familiar environments, experience different things, and after they met again, after all those years, they put their feelings and mutual attraction to the test

and it turned out they still want each other even with all the imperfections 🧍‍♂️(i’m not crying you are) they could lie all they want but their brain chemistry couldn’t. Vincent never loved someone they way he loved Ragan, and Ray never quite felt the same way with anyone else like he felt with Vince. there was always something missing, something not quite right. and while they could tell each other they’re looking for something too far out of their reach, that they’re looking for a too perfect partner, in reality they always just wanted each other 🧍‍♂️

they still have a lot to work on together in their relationship, but now that they’re too old for teenage fights and too tired for heartbreaks, they make compromises and their fights make their bond and their understanding of one another stronger 🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️

like we acknowledge that Vince did a shitty thing by ghosting Ray, going no contact and being a puss, too scared to man up, and tell him face to face ‘hey i can’t go, this type of thing ain’t for me’. he didn’t want to acknowledge that, saying that out loud, or even in his mind, would make that real and that scared him. he was definitely a teen who’d rather avoid doing something he wasn’t comfortable with to not experience the uncomfortable feelings altogether. the avoidant type we all know and love 🧍‍♂️

and yet Ray still chose to love him 🧍‍♂️ he’s definitely like ‘this man’s trash but he’s *my* trash’. Vince gets better eventually after Ray finally gets through his thick ass skull.

but also i’m not gonna sit here and say Ragan fixed Vince coz that wasn’t the case 🤷‍♂️ this is not a ‘i’m gonna fix him’ type of situation. Ragan wasn’t and isn’t perfect either, his perspective was kinda askew as well; can’t quite describe it as i haven’t psychoanalyzed him as much as Vincent but they’re both flawed, make mistakes left and right and learn from that (sooner or later) like human beings 🧍‍♂️

but in the end they’re just old men in love
