I Heart Arlo - 1 Year Later

As the title implies, I made this a year after the show had came out. I figured it would be a nice tribute to what had instantly become one of my favorite shows ever (well, favorite film/show combination, if you don't count the film as a pilot movie). Just something really cute and wholesome, at least in my opinion.

Oh, and the showrunner, Ryan Crego, saw it too. It was one of the highlights of 2022 for me.

Arlo the Alligator Boy (2021)

My rating: 8/10

So this is an animated R&B musical about a half human/half alligator child who, after being abandoned as a baby, is raised by a wanted criminal in a swamp, decides he wants to find his birth father, and, after accruing a found family of misfits, does exactly that. And it's... good, actually? The songs feel a bit out of place at first, but they're still very good and you get used to it, and the ending seems a little bit too perfectly happy, but it made me feel them good emotions and it's got a lot of fun gags. Plus the animation looks really nice.

It was. I'm also started to think that ending to "Diaper Dinks" took place in an alternate reality when Jay brought it up!

Speaking of Sanjay and Craig: I forgot to mention this to you, but have you heard of Arlo the Alligator Boy? A few people who worked on this also worked on Sanjay and Craig including Ryan Crego, who created Arlo, a half-human, half-alligator boy. A movie was made for Netflix, which serves as a basis for a series that will debut in little over a week from now! The movie's pretty good, and I love Arlo! You should check it out!

Monday

Monday, the new movie from Argyris Papadimitropoulos, is out today.
