Eir is a woman of average height with long, curly red hair the colour of fall leaves that is beginning to lighten with age, warm brown eyes, and fair skin adorned with freckles. She can normally be seen wearing a drape-style brown dress ending just above her ankles, dark green heels and a forest green cardigan. She also wears dangling star earrings and a circle-style tiara just like Runa wears but Eir's tiara has blue jewels that match her wife's eyes.

History

Eir grew up on Vanaheim surrounded by the woods and a large lake connected to the ocean. Her family was well known for the customer, hand-crafted furniture and houses they'd build all across New Asgard. Eir is no stranger to carpentry and if you give her a design, she can probably build it!

She met Runa by chance (Runa calls it destiny) and the two were wed a few years later. Eir never imagined herself becoming a princess and later a queen but no matter how lavish her lifestyle has become, she'll always treasure growing up in the woods of Vanaheim. In fact, she was the one who suggested Magnus and Tómus go to school with the local children of Asgard. She wanted her boys to connect with the people in a way that private tutoring would prevent.

Eir remembers the sleepless nights she had after each of her children were born. Especially Magnus and Adalet since no one had planned for having two babies at the same time! But despite the extended periods she’d go without sleep, she cherishes every second she got to spend with her babies.

When Magnus told her that he was going to be proposing to Aurora, Eir couldn't contain her excitement. Aurora had been a friend of Magnus and Adalet’s since elementary school, always either keeping the twins out of trouble or getting dragged along for the ride! She always secretly hoped her son would marry Aurora, and her wish will soon come true!

While she is going to miss them when Magnus and Aurora move to Earth permanently, she would never stop any of her children from pursuing their dreams. Besides, they can still visit each other and Magnus promises to message, video call, and send her pictures as often as he can so she can keep up to date with his life on Earth.

Eir wishes she could say it was the only time she's ever had to stop any of her children from threatening to maim or kill each other, but she would be lying if she did…

They’ve even entered axe-throwing competitions together as a mother-son team, they have several awards they’ve won over the years

One of Runa’s favorite movies is probably “Forbidden Kingdom” with Jackie Chan and Jet Li (iconic). Action Martial Arts Movies are so fun to watch.

A happy memory Runa has is of when she first met her friends in Japan, Miki and Rin. It was after the first few days she transferred over to her new school and she already knew Rin, but Runa hasn’t seen her since like elementary school. But she found her and Miki and this new school and how was by Miki casually pulling Runa away from an uncomfortable situation. Then she was invited to have lunch with her on the rooftop where they find Rin. And they’ve been friends since!

Runa is a really good cook, and it’s all thanks to her dad for owning a cafe. She started to learn when she was about 8 and wanted to make him something for his birthday. Catwoman - Father Valley is an odd villain - in the way I don’t know how to feel about him. This book is good a being in the Bat-title books but without needing to read those books. I like what’s being done here with Selina and I like that she has a team behind her helping her. That took me a while to get used to that.

Legends of the Dark Knight - Was not exactly thrilled with the first issue; I felt is was very run-of-the-mill Batman issues, and I was hoping for Batman villain turf wars. Art is also not really my taste. I do like what happened in the first issue, but it still wasn’t really what I was looking for in this revival of this title. Wait-and-see I guess.

The Mighty Valkyries - I was surprised with how much I am enjoying this series. Really like both Jane and Runa’s stories. Loki being involved is always fun because you never know what he’s up to. Also Kraven the Hunter is here.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man - With this story, I think Ahmed is really playing into the sophisticated Miles clone (Selim) and playing into what people perceive of the 90s Clone Saga. The issue cover will allow for a variety of emotions.

New Mutants - Really enjoying the Dani/Xi’an story, but not really jazzed about the Shadow King story. I do like what’s happening with Warpath though. I still feel a lot of overlooked mutant characters are expressing themselves here in new ways. I don’t really care for Anole.

Nightwing - I think this is fun book and a very good take on Dick Grayson. 

Planet-Size X-Men - The big setup for how the X-books will be going forward. Once I’m caught up I hope to be excited and intrigued.

Radiant Black - Last issue really surprised me even if I was spoiled about it. Not sure how many books have tried that.

Seven Secrets - Behind and I hate that.

Static: Season One - Excited for this one. First time since I’ve been reading comics that a Static comic was being produced. Good to see! Looking forward to the rest of the Milestone Returns comics.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow - Looking forward to the Evely art. And Kara has a sword!

Ultramega - Behind! At least there will be a bit of time for me to catch up. I hope!

X-Corp - Going into this comic knowing what I know from issue one is good for me. Issue one - for me - was a bit hard to get into. Now, I feel like I understand things that are going to becoming forward in it. It’s different enough from some of the other X-books and I think that’ll be a good thing.

Suicide Squad - I got this issue because of the Hypnotic Woman appearance.

SO MANY BOOKS! Trust me, I am trying to trim my pull list down.

Along the same lines, the Heroes CD is incredible. It's been getting regular play on the commute from work. Thank you for that too. I got a grin when you mentioned it on the podcast and said "you probably don't have this album."

I follow your blog via RSS feed, as I have for years. Sometimes the old ways still work. Anyway, I just read the one about social media not sparking joy for you. *raises hand* Right there with you on that one. I hear more and more that employers won't hire someone without a social media presence. Does it truly matter? I've never thought so. Sounds like you're coming to the same conclusion after years of being in the trenches on that. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the idea of immediacy, but everything seems to be immediate online. As they say, when everything is an emergency, nothing is an emergency. Unless you're one of these YouTube stars making bank on ad revenue for having millions of followers. Maybe then I'd get the need, but I don't follow any of those types.

It's a weird balance. People tell me I'm old for not being on Facebook. Many in the younger generation don't bother with it either. Not sure where that leaves me. But I know what I like. I seek out podcasts and music. That's how I found you years ago. I've never had a reason to second guess. It takes all types in the world. It's like that in any business too. It just seems to me that musicians make music. As Spock told Kirk, it's your first, best destiny. Anything else is a waste of material. ;)

I admire that you're willing to try new things, and I can't imagine how much of it comes down to marketing. In the end, you've built a solid product with a solid brand, and you continue to do so. It speaks for itself.

I did have one old school idea... have you thought about broadcasting your podcast feed on XM radio? Or even on local FM bands (in conjunction with local Ren Faires and cons)? Then the radio stations feel the need to advertise for you. Radio is where music lives, right? You probably have considered it, but it never hurts to toss an idea out there. I've wondered why, as popular as Ren Faires are now, why there is no Ren Faire Radio. But then... this is what you do in podcast form, isn't it? Is radio not the great granddaddy of all social media? Orson Welles knew it. Freddie Mercury knew it. 80 years on, has it really changed so much?

Apologies for rambling. In any case, this is a long-winded way of saying that this old school music fan appreciates you efforts. I have for years, and I will for years to come. I hope your move to Atlanta goes smoothly. All the best to you and yours."
