Roy/Jean/Riza headcanon

Firstly, it would help if you read Willingly Unsure by fooboo24, as this was my first introduction to this ship, and most of my headcanons I made for a continuation series I never wrote (the Morning After series), combined with heavy Team Mustang feels.

Below the cut for convenience and because some is mildly nsfw.

First, background stuff.

Riza’s pansexual and panromantic. She’s dated a few female officers before, but no guys and nothing was serious, she’s too focused on work.

Jean’s straight and biromantic with a strong leaning towards women. The only guy he’s been attracted to was Roy, and that started out mostly due to aesthetics and an intellectual attraction.

Roy’s bi and heteroromantic. The only other guy he’s been with was some experimentation with Hughes at the Academy (this only confirmed Roy’s suspicions, and led Hughes to conclude that he was straight). He doesn't date guys to help keep up his reputation as a womanizer. He eventually begins to develop a semi-romantic attraction to Jean, but it stays mostly a queerplatonic thing.

The next morning, they all have a serious talk. Havoc confesses that he wants this to continue and that he wants a relationship with both of them. Hawkeye truly loves both of them, and Mustang wants Hawkeye to be happy and isn't opposed or hesitant to having Havoc as well, but they all know it’s impossible.

But- Mustang remembers something, and goes to get his handbook while Jean and Riza make breakfast, and finds a loophole.

Basically, it’s illegal to have two people from the same unit and/or different ranks and/or commanding officers and direct subordinates in relationships. But, having a third person present will not only absolve suspicions, but is recommended by the anti-frat regulations. So, as long as they are all together, they can allay suspicion and continue their relationship.

Havoc proposes they date each other.

Hawkeye is completely surprised at the loophole and happy she has a chance with the men she loves, but is hesitant to risk it. Havoc is super eager, and Mustang is willing to try it.

Hawkeye tells Havoc about her tattoo. (He didn't notice the night before because he was drunk.)

Now that general context is established, onto the random stuff!

They all just switch around between each other’s apartments

Havoc and Mustang do the cooking. (I’ll explain my various headcanons more in a future Team Mustang headcanon post).

They tell the rest of Team Mustang about a month in. Fuery is happy for them, but now has to re do his shipping charts and Breda refuses to believe that Havoc’s managed to get and keep not only a girlfriend but a boyfriend too for a month and thinks it’s a practical joke for a week. Falman doesn’t really say anything, but the next day there’s a stack of books on the subject on Mustang’s desk.

Hawkeye pulls hair in bed.

Havoc likes being dominated, and Mustang likes being in charge, but Hawkeye is definitely the dominant one most of the time.

Jean is very affectionate and tactile, Riza and Roy aren’t as much but appreciate it.

Okay, complicated self-indulgent world-building headcanon time! In this verse where this is happening there’s a region in the south of Amestris named Gallia. It’s sorta a cultural mix of Aerugo and Amestris, and the language there is a creole of the two. Gallia is separate from Amestris in the same way the South is separate culturally from the rest of the United States. It’s also totally not an inserted Fantasy Culture Counterpart to France. Anywho, the Havocs moved from there to East shortly before Jean was born. The culture is more accepting of ménages à trois, and the three eventually tell Havoc’s parents.

When Jean is paralyzed, he breaks up with Roy and Riza because he feels he would only drag them down. They both don’t want to, but agree to do so after they see how upset he is. They eventually make up after Havoc is healed.

Riza likes sharing showers with them.

Mustang continues going on fake dates to maintain his reputation. Havoc dates occasionally so it doesn’t seem strange that he suddenly stopped, but breaks it off after the first date.

Havoc really likes giving oral. He also always has to smoke after sex. Hawkeye and Mustang make him leave the room for that.

Hawkeye enjoys just watching the other two.

Mustang finds it really hot when either of the other two wear his clothes after sex.

After the Promised Day, when Havoc’s been reinstated and everyone’s gotten their round of promotion, they all give the other two their now outdated dog tags to keep, sorta like rings except not as visible.

Havoc totally has a voyeuristic streak.
