DIWALI SWEETS PACK 2022 A PACK OF TWO CUSTOM DESSERTS
Diwali is the festival of lights, it lasts for several days. During this festival, one thing among many that’s done is to make or share sweets. While there are many others that are shared, Rose Barfi and Mohanthal are the two I made this year.
Enjoy!
ROSE BARFI
Rose barfi is a milk based confection, similar to fudge, ghee is heated up and then milk and then milk powder is slowly added rose flavoured syrup or gulab sharbat is then added to the mixture (in this recipe I imagine the syrup was made from scratch with rose flavouring and sugar). Once ready the mixture is cooled so that it can harden and then cut into pieces.
It has all three meal sizes (8 servings, 4 servings and single serving)
Optional icemunmun pistachio, ghee and rose tea and cardamom and SCCO any milk (can be cooked without)
Vegetarian-Safe
MOHANTHAL
Mohanthal is a Gujarati treat made with besan (gram/chickpea flour), ghee, milk, sugar, cardamom and sometimes saffron. The combination of these create a grainy fudge like confection with a sweet cardamom taste.
It has two sizes (8 servings, single serving)
Vegetarian-Safe.
FOR BOTH
It has all three meal sizes (8 servings, 4 servings and single serving)
Optional icemunmun ghee, chickpea, brown sugar, and cardamom, SCCO any milk (can be cooked without)
Vegetarian-Safe
DOWNOAD (PATREON + SFS + MTS (coming soon))

DESI DARK FAE AESTHETIC~
(Again, completely based on my own opinions)
Rest of the series
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heavy, dark kajal
Dark and glittering lehengas, saris, kurtas, sherwanis and anarkalis with dupattas that cover their faces (so you dont recognize who cursed you)
Really dark mehndi that they made stronger with strong sarson ka tel (mustard seed oil).
Alta that makes it look like they walked in a sea of blood, and lips to match
Black and maroon bindis in all sorts of shapes
Large, dark colored metal bangles that glisten in the night but mysteriously make no sound when they will it
Large mirror jhoomkas and chandbalis
Loha (iron) nose rings and baalis
Heavy loha necklaces with shimmering jewels
Open, flowy hair or loose braids with woven flowers
They wear gajras made of mogra (jasmine) and roses, and they have a few leaves with thorns in them
The sounds of their payal echo mysteriously
They have long nails with remnants of sindoor and tika tinting their fingers
They leave the sweet scent of roses and jasmine wherever they go but it also makes your skin tingle
Always have a khanjar or a katar ready, but really, their looks can kill.
They drink the darkest, strongest chai and the sweetest sharbat
They can make you feel at home and switch to a living hell in 0.2 seconds
watch the instagram reel here!!! <3

who: @dastan-allyrion where: the old palace, dorne, following the departure of the rest of westerosi nobility
There were marigolds intertwined in dark silky hair as she pushed her way through her brother's solar room within the Old Palace; the sound of twinkling anklets announcing her presence far sooner than the sound of her footsteps finally coming up behind the door, noting some of the plates that were being taken from his chambers. Her kohl lined orbs narrowed slightly, trying to inspect whether there was more wine, but that seemed to have eased off...though she did see bones, coming from some sort of meat, no doubt. As she looked upon her household guards, loyal faces she remembered since her youth, she crossed the threshold of his audience rooms in the apartments of the Master of Laws.
"Namaste, Sikander." Her hands came together in greeting to one of the oldest guards of their family; a man who had been by their father's side for as long as she could possibly remember. "Tussi theek ho?" Even despite their difference in status, the Lady of Godsgrace and the Princess of Dorne was mindful of the dialect she used with her elders.
"Dastan andaar hai?" She enquired, a bangled hand extending towards the door; the old man opened it with a light chuckle, and she bowed her head slightly as she stepped over the threshold. Her brother had sent her a letter asking him to meet her in the evening for a light meal after dinner, consisting mostly of light snacks and chilled drinks; how pleased she was to see her favourite was already upon golden plates  - Mohabbat ka Sharbat; a drink of watermelon, rose syrup and cold milk.
Tumblr media
"You were eating meat? It is Tuesday, you know." She commented, the smell of her oud mixing with the scents already in the room as she allowed the door to close - he was upon the sun terrace an this was nothing out of the ordinary for her. If anything, she was entirely comfortable; to be within the rooms of her little brother, eating fruits, cheeses, samosas as they did whilst children after dinner. "Mother would throw her slippers at you from down the hall." Even the setting Dornish sun seemed to change nothing; for the world were gone, and all she cared for in her own world remained.
