And then apocalypse and he reads the books, is stunned, and passes out when he tries to get past the fifth volume.

He's back when they Cale was 18, he's in his body but this time it seems to be permanent as the days go by.

Cale is awake again.

But he seems off.

He gets up off the bed, ignores Raon and the cats asking him to lay back down, and goes straight to Ron.

His eyes seem.. different. Actually, how he holds himself just seems off. What's wrong with him?

With a surprising amount of strength, he grabs Ron's tie and pulls him closer to yell.

He seems angry.

It is not cold like they are used to. Something is wrong.

"What happened!? We weren't supposed to switch again, he was supposed to be happy here, he shouldn't be hurt!"

Choi han moves to put a hand on his shoulder but is shoved off aggressively, Cale looks angry but there's a hint of fear in his eyes and Choi han stills.

Eruhaben steps forward to question him and is met with the same furious gaze.

After they finally get cale- Rok Soo?- to calm down and explain, he moves to go back to sleep.

With a final glare full of hostility towards Choi han that he'd never expected on Cale ever, he says one more thing.

"If the God of death is right and I wake up here again because Cale needs more time to heal, then I'll know you failed again."

And almost everyone flinched.

Because he was right, they failed. Everyone there is stronger than Cale but they keep letting him run into danger. He's the one who coughed up blood, fell unconscious, did the most because they couldn't do more.

How shameful.

Honestly TCF/LCF is great. I'm rereading it from the beginning, I've never actually finished it, but honestly the amount of times Cale just wanders off for hours, last seen in the slums or a random tea shop and just comes home with a Choi Han or two children from the Cat Tribe and just no one questions it. The only one who does is Hans but even then it's just wanting to care for the kittens. That I understand, he had no way of knowing they're cat tribe but Ron knows from the second he sees them and just doesn't question how, why, where and when he met these cat tribe children . And it's similar for choi han. We know he saw him coming in the gate and Deruth and Hans got the tragic backstory, but none of them questioned why exactly he was in the residential area near the gate to stumble across him in the first place. Also for a second I forgot Cale was 18 and just imagined Beacrox seeing Cale going in the slums and shortly after reappearing with cat tribe children and just thinking Cale had like had children with a cat tribe person, especially since Hong has red hair. I forget how old Hong actually is at the beginning so that didn't help matters. The way he just picks up strays. Like he randomly decides to smuggle Taylor and Cage into the capital, which I imagine is a crime, but literally no one with him questions this decision and tries to say hey maybe don't do this illegal thing. And again I get Ron and Beacrox not reacting, ones an assassin and the other is a torture expert. But the fact that Hilsman, Hans and anyone else with them is just on board with this plan? Like don't disagree with it, don't question it, just go along with it? I get that Cales their young master but everyone just immediately goes along with his plans no matter how insane they are and only really have a problem when Cales plan includes I do something that results in me getting hurt or passing out, which, to be fair, in the first hundred chapters, usually isn't actually part of the plan, it just kind of happens. Meanwhile Cale is just in denial, acting like the sane one. Let me tell you, when people you consider insane are all surrounding you and following plans, chances are you're not as sane or normal as you think.

Also if you for whatever reason have a problem with me using Beacrox instead of Vicross or calling it Trash of the Counts family instead of lout of the counts family. That was the first translation I've seen. This also means I may call Rain City Western City because that's what it says in the translation I'm reading. I don't think it's a big deal but I saw a tweet complaining about it and particularly calling it Trash of the counts family instead of lout of the counts family, which confused me because I knew it as that first and so, when I was reading fanfiction and saw the name Vicross Molran I was like who? I can't have met them yet. I've since learned this is Beacrox Molan, and Beacrox is what I call him. I won't apologise it because that would be dumb but I want it to be noted that this is all purely die to the translation I'm reading

AU. No White Star. Assassin Cale raised by Ron and Vicross for REASONS (maybe deruth and jour both died when he was young to something idk).((vicross and ron were working at the Henituse estate to gather information on a job, Molran family never fell, when cale was made an orphan they just brought him home with them bc it became immediately apparent that the vassal families were going to tear this child apart))

Cale mostly worked as an assassin on the Eastern continent bc that's where he grew up after his parents died but he's recently started to accept work for the Western continent because he's curious about his homeland. When there was a job to assassinate the Crown Prince of the Rowoon Kingdom, he jumped on it as an excuse to learn more about what happened to his family. Cale is hired by the queen to take out her unwanted step son and current heir to the throne. To get to Alver, Cale is prepared as a fiance that Alver can't refuse (Marge creates a pedigree and backstory for Cale so that he'll be an 'acceptable' fiance, planning to use Cale's actual unworthiness against Alver if the assassination fails). Cale is presented as Alver's best option to achieve the throne so he reluctantly accepts the engagement (but he knows there's something sus about Cale). The plan is for Cale to kill him on their wedding night but matters start growing more and more confusing as Alver and Cale have a real growing attraction to one another during the engagement. So much so that they're both questioning their feelings and mutual pining begins >:D.

Will Cale still try to kill Alver on their wedding night? Will Alver even show up to consumate the marriage, considering he would normally have no intention to given his secrets? heh heh

((all i want in life is cale in a wedding veil and holding a knife to alver's throat, this is all i need in life, especially if cale's eyes are widening with shock because the man he's holding a knife to isn't the crown prince he expected but rather a dark elf AHAHAHAHAHA))

Sick!Cale au where roksoo Transmigrates a year before cannon, just as Cale is attending a doctor's appointment. He blinks and suddenly he's in a completely different room with a doctor telling him the results of a bunch of tests he's SURE AS HELL didn't take.

He kind of pauses for a minute assessing his surroundings like the smart boy he is and then the doctor gets to the diagnosis.

"(something something, doctor talk).. with the rarity of the disease and lack of a cure, I'm afraid I have to inform you that it is very likely you have less than two years to live."

He files the information in the back of his mind for a moment and asks the doctor to give him a few minutes alone- and then proceeds to figure out where the fuck he is and have a mini freakout session about how he's DYING.

Okay they discuss the almost-helpful treatments and stuff and he realizes that the only way he can prolong his lifespan is to collect the healing ancient power.

He goes back to the Henituse mansion and effectively avoids questions about where he's been and has another small panik about what to do.

I'm imagining that once he gets the vitality of the heart he still has to be cautious about his condition. His brand new shiney ancient power explains how it's keeping his illness In check but it can't just get rid of it entirely because he got the ancient power after the illness started becoming an issue.

(Cale felt a bit like Taylor in that moment)

He very much does not tell anyone about the possibility that he may drop dead one day if he's not carefully because?? They're still basically strangers?? He knows and trusts no one in that house??? (Ron was suspicious but Cale made no plans of telling him any time soon.)

Then he got alarmingly used to the dull pain in his chest just as he got used to living as Cale.

I want to see an apocalyptic au where Cale gets to beat the shit out of some zombies with a bat.

Maybe it's set in the modern world. Single father Cale who's adopted a baby Raon after literally hearing him crying in a dumpster. He's In his apartment when the outbreak begins and it gets swarmed. He leaves with Raon in a front facing baby carrier through the fire escape.

With only a bat and a handgun to defend himself, it practically feels like Cale and Raon against the world.

Maybe it would be the smarter thing to leave Raon to ensure his own survival, maybe having two mouths to feed and protect could prove to be trouble in the long-run. Cale doesn't care. Raon miru is his son and there's no way in hell he's abandoning him.

Cale and Raon get stranded. Their city looks like a ghost town.

They find a survivor group camping out in a library. With a few days of quarantine to make sure they weren't infected, they're accepted with open arms.

And in that group, Cale meets someone named Choi han.

Over the years, Cale meets a lot of people. Not all of them are good people. He's had to do a few unfavorable things to guarantee his group and Raon's safety. Somewhere along the way, he begins to open up his heart and think of his group as family.

(Raon, Ohn, and Hong grow up thinking Cale is the coolest. person. ever. Actually, so does everyone else-)

I like the idea of Cale meeting Beacrox and Ron, his old caretakers back when he still lived with his parents, and all of them being surprised that the other is still alive.

they meet at the halfway point between Cale's apartment and the mansion cale grew up in.

"Young Master did you have a child and not inform me?"

"... he's adopted?"

While they have their heartfelt reunion-

Cale waking up in the middle of the night exploring the villa to look for the secret passageways super rock said he built everywhere-

Some are magic activated, others like a mini elevator, tiny empty rooms that he can use however he'd like, hidden stairways to another room in the villa, and he even found a slide-

Just Cale spending some time alone with his ancient powers, his curiosity overpowering his want to sleep-

Super rock only mentioned all of the secret passages because Cale had accidentally stumbled upon a button that opened up the bookcase door in his room leading to an attic. (The kids were determined to make it their secret base)

I think it'd be funny if Cale used them to mess with people.

Beacrox is just cooking in the kitchen like normal when Cale pops his head out of what he thought was a decorative cabinet asking for cookies

Ron watching Cale walk out from behind a painting and not being able to find anything other than a faint trace of magic and just being confused

The kids racing each other and Cale somehow beating all three and more confused because huh???

Alberu training with Choi han and being confused when Cale jumps down from a ceiling light and asks him a question and Choi han who is more used to this staring in amusement.

Eruhaben of all people finding Cale stargazing with the children on the roof and laughing a bit when they show him just how they got up.

Eventually he'll tell the kids about the rest of them sksj-

Cale questioned how Alberu hadn't collapsed but as soon as Alberu made a move to respond he fell face first onto his paperwork.

Okay, get this.

Along with the Thames being descendants of the hunters, (or something like that I don't remember sue me) in their bloodline there were some people who's emotions would show physically. It didn't hit every generation and it wasn't really predictable.

And by that I mean if someone of Thames blood got too excited or sad or anxious, any emotion, it would show.

In their records, there was one girl who if she got too upset by something, the winds around her would start getting aggressive and cause lots of destruction.

They are closest to nature so naturally that's what their emotions will respond to. Usually it wouldn't effect other emotions, just one or two. So if someone who got too anxious caused plants to form everywhere, nothing would happen if they were happy and excited.

I'm hoping you understand where I'm going with this ;-;

Their curse luckily skipped jour, but it became obvious that it didn't with cale once the frustrated toddler set the couch on fire when told that his father was busy and couldn't see him yet.

And jour was so so lucky when the maid that told them left quickly enough that she didn't see anything. But she wasn't fireproof so trying to comfort him was a struggle. In the end, her dress was a bit burnt and there was soot all over her hands and face-

Her son panicked and started crying, ending all of the fire.

As much as jour hated it, Cale was forced to grow up being extremely cautious when angry. It accidentally led to him shoving his anger down and pretending like he was fine. Because most people won't react positively when if you get too angry over something you accidentally set the curtains on fire.

Deruth made sure to tell Cale that he wouldn't get treated any different, that he wasn't a monster and that he still loved him. (Later, Cale would think back and say that Deruth was a liar.)

The day he found out his mother died was the day the ice developed. This time he didn't tell anyone.

Onto cale's regression-

There's combinations of Og!Cale and Krs, right? Where Krs actually gets reborn as Cale and the story progresses like that or something-

I want that but it's switched. Og!Cale on his first life living in the 20 year long war and trauma, then he gets reborn as Krs and omg a new opportunity at life where he won't have to act like he hates everyone AND loving parents?? Sike, more trauma.

As much as the war and apocalypse dulled his anger issues, they are still there but he's just a really good actor. Okay so he reads TBOAH and is fucking creeped out (slightly offended at his description in the story doesn't matter if it's slightly true-) and he's asleep and back to being Cale.

At first, he's confused. After sending Ron to get him water he proceeds to panic in the bathroom. He's terrified. What's happening? Why is he back here again? This is exactly what he wanted to get away from. All rational thought leaves his brain as he proceeds to freeze over the bathroom.

"Young Master are you alright in there?"

Right, not the time to panic he can do that later.

Time to put on a show.

Basen actually saw Cale get angry enough for that one noble kid's jacket to set on fire.

He was surprised because there was seemingly no way for that to have happened, then he saw a little flame on Cale's boot and panicked. Hastily stepping on it to put it out because Cale just protected him he didn't want him to be hurt.

Basen saw this fleeting look of fear in his eyes until it was gone and Cale delivered those words he still keeps close to heart even after all these years.
