YEEHAW, IT’S AU TIME!
In the spirit of April Fool’s and in mookiesrp style, this week, our members can feel free to write in the alternative universe of farm life!
That’s right! Relax, your muses don’t need to be actual cows! In this universe, we have farmhands, ranchers, and every kind of job you could imagine coming from a farm. However, in this faraway land, five big farms take over the region.
Sphere Dairies is the top farm when it comes to taking care of cows and making sure every milk, yogurt, cheese, and other dairy product that comes out with their name on it is the most delicious of them all!
Nova Ranch has the fastest and most beautiful horses in the industry. Theirs are the ones you can bet on any type of horse-related competition and, for an expensive fee, you can learn how to ride a horse like a true master!
TRC Farms are in charge of most things that land on your plate, whether your mom forced you to eat it or not. Vegetables and anything green is their strength and you should try out their spinach for a sudden gain of strength!
KT Corral has lots of chickens, and with chickens come lots of eggs! How do you like them in the morning? The sunny side is always up for those who enjoy a good breakfast with KT eggs!
Royal Orchards has the most beautiful trees in the region and the fruits that grow from them are just as beautiful. An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but people eat these just because they really want to!
Whether you work for them or not, you’ve certainly heard about them! Are you a small business trying to beat them, a simple costumer, or are you working hard to keep their name high?

Time is Money ||

Namjoon made his money on time. Time was quite literally money in his line of work. Every farm to be taken over was written on his list and his personal assistant made sure that his orders were carried out. He made his way down the lists. Orchards, dairy farms, vegetable farms...everything was to be wiped and he had to have everything done by the end of the week. Time was truly money. After all, there were multi billion dollar contracts involved. He didn’t care for what he was destroying. His only goal was the investments. The money in the bank was all that mattered.
But of course, someone had to be so bold to stand up to the power hungry executive bent on takeover. He had shooed away his assisstant when he saw the other boy approaching him. “Oh, look, a poor soul has come to fight,” he stated, checking his list. “You do realize Sphere Dairies is on the list.” he stated, recognizing the other as a former friend. “I’m sure you can step aside for that, eh, Moonbok. After all, my time is money.”

he knows that he doesn’t have a lot to offer. all he does is laze around in the sun all day and steal fruits from royal’s orchard, but hongjoong wants more than anything to impress just one boy. just one.
jihoon is everything that he isn’t. a hard worker, doesn’t laugh much, too shy to function and for some unknown reason, hongjoong has fallen head over heels for him. and if he isn’t at royal making his brother mad by running around through the trees, he’s usually trying to get jihoon to notice him through little gifts of ( probably stolen ) fruit as a sign of his affection. today isn’t any different.
every time that he shows up, jihoon is unsuspecting. hongjoong creeps around with light feet and soundless movements, only because he’s used to sneaking around and stealing fruit from royal. this time, he quietly sits next to jihoon and nudges a peach over to him, his eyes round and blinking slowly. on his expression, a pout - because after all, he’s just thinking, what will it take for him to notice me?

truth be told, juhee doesn’t know when this feeling began. it’s heavy ... a tightening and constricting feeling that consumes before juhee is able to receptively take note of it. instead of dealing with it, juhee does what she thinks is best in this situation: ignore it. she has better things to do than take precedence of feelings that might never bear fruit. she’s one of nova’s best riders and in only a short few weeks, this month’s classic was to be held and there was nothing going to stop juhee from taking the prize money for the show.
she just had to stay focused and not lose sight of the prize at hand.
at least, that was the case -- fingers held loosely to the reigns of her horse as she runs a few practice drills that day. today was going to be important ; her timing had been off for days and not only were the instructors noticing, juhee was beginning to feel frustrated by her mistakes. hopefully nothing else went wrong today. juhee couldn’t afford them to.

he's usually up before the sun has fully risen above the horizon, the sky painted with just a touch of reds and oranges and yellows. it's quiet at this time, neither the twins nor his mother having even stirred in their sleep yet, and he actually has time to think as he eats his simple breakfast of rice and soup before heading out on his way to the farms in his classic (read: old) pick-up truck, bought at the local car lot for a fraction of its original selling price.
his first task of the day is to check on the eggplants, their deep purple hues such an exciting way to start off the day. seeing how they've grown and plumped up is as exciting to him as any show they air on the television these days, and on the days they're particularly ripe like today, he makes sure to text minho to let him know. fresh eggplants are the best, after all.
(sometimes his phone dies before he can send the text; on those days he just visits minho personally, taking the eggplants out for show.)
the order in which he checks the vegetables after that come in no particular order, each one treated with the same love and care, but less than the eggplants because favoritism is a hard habit to break. time flies as he inspects and cares for each vine, tree, and sprout, noting their growth with each day that passes. lunch on the farm consists of fresh ingredients, prepared by the farm's chefs, filling him with the warmth of home.
sometimes, he's tasked with dealing with sellers from the grocers, or trading with other local farms. he's always loved days like those, but even more so recently after meeting with a particularly beautiful farmhand from royal orchards to exchange produce.
today, he'd gathered up all of his courage to ask her to meet him in the evening out in the orchards for a date. only time will tell if she shows up, but he's got a gut a feeling that she will.
days come to an end as the sun sets, the brilliant blue melting away into the dark night in brilliant hues of reds and oranges and yellows and pinks, a sight he beholds on his drive back to the house where his mother greets him and his brothers try to tackle him to the ground. they've yet to achieve their goal, but in a few months' time, chanyeol thinks he'll end up on the dirt path leading up to the front door soon enough.
some say that routine is boring, the death of spontaneity, but chanyeol doesn't think that's true. there's moments to be had in routine, and he wouldn't change this life for anything else in the world. there's beauty in simplicity, and the life he's living is the most beautiful of all.

the alluded to first meeting for mkjisoo and mkpcy: they came across each other by a chance errand and, awed by her beauty, asked if she wanted to see his eggplant. naturally upset by this, she started scolding him, only making him confused. he then said he was going to show it to her, reaching into the basket he held in front of him, at which point she began yelling until he pulled out an actual eggplant. at that point, she began praising him for such a beautiful vegetable, and that genuine praise and awe is how he fell for her
