KC-46A performs the first combat replenishment task with operational task

Approximately 100 aviators and four KC-46A Pegasus aircraft carried out 24-hour operations during the multi-week employment concept exercise (ECE) of the Air Mobility Command (AMC) at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, from August 27 to mid-September 2022.

The aviators of the 22nd Air Refueling Wing and the 931th Air Refueling Wing participated in ECE 22-08, working on two teams to operate 24 hours a day, testing the ability of the KC-46A to support real-world missions and evaluate their capabilities on the way to full operational capacity.

On August 29, the KC-46A Pegasus completed its first operational combat appearance, refueling two F-15E Strike Eagles assigned to the 335th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron.

“CENCOM ECE allowed us to test the KC-46A in an extreme desert environment while completing operational missions in support of a combatant command,” said Lieutenant Colonel Josh Renfro, deputy head of the KC-46 multifunctional team at AMC.

The ECEs, together with the ICR, reflect a data-based and risk-based restriction analysis approach to release the operational capabilities of KC-46A to the Joint Force, he added.

All four aircraft operated from Al Udeid Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, with three of the KC-46As focused on completing air resupply missions and a fourth aircraft on alert in the case of an aircraft grounded, simultaneously testing the limits of the aircraft in the extreme desert climate.

"This ECE provided AMC with valuable data needed to meet aircraft maneuver times, maintenance requirements and engineering provisions, and provided exit for air refueling as needed, while continuing to refine aircraft performance parameters," Renfro said. "This also allowed AMC to gain a deeper understanding of how best to employ and deploy KC-46A in future operations."

During their time at Al Udeid Air Base, leaders of the Ninth Air Force (Air Force Central), 379th Air Expeditionary Wing and a variety of other squadrons from all over the base visited the Air Force's newest air refueling platform.

"This was my first time flying on KC-46 and seeing it in action was very impressive," Brig said. Gen. Jeffrey Nelson, commander of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing. "The onboard systems provide a great situational awareness of the surrounding area for the crew, and watching the boom operator perform aerial refuelling using the remote vision system was equally impressive."

The Employment Concept Exercises are a subset of the KC-46A Provisional Capacity Release Plan that allows AMC to employ KC-46A in different scenarios for additional operational employment tests and assessments. ECEs allow AMC to quickly collect actionable data ?? about the performance of the KC-46A in various scenarios, increasing the operational capacity for the requirements of the refueling fleet and increasing the capacity of the tanker.

In the last 16 months, the KC-46A has demonstrated increasing operational capacity at an accelerated pace. In May 2021, KC-46A was not released to operationally support any U.S. Transportation Command mission. Through the Interim Capacity Release Plan and the dedicated work of members of the growing KC-46A community, KC-46A is now released to operationally replenish 97% of the daily air refueling demands of the Joint Force, as in charge of the U.S. Transportation Command.

Overwatch 2 Release Date Announcement and Junkerqueen Confirmation

Alright! PlayOverwatch released a video through twitter which shows us more footage and gives us more information about Overwatch 2. In this post I’m going to be discussing what is listed in the tweet, then in another post I will be going through the video as in detail as I can. I’m just doing these separately since I will need a little more time to go through the video. 

Free to Play Live Service - There is going to be a Free to Play Live Service coming with OW2. Since the video was more focused on introducing new characters and new cosmetics, we weren’t given specifics about how the free to play service will work, but they will probably discuss it during the Overwatch 2 Reveal Event on June 16th, 2022.

New heroes, maps and modes - We will be getting more characters in OW2. Junkerqueen and the Kanzaka Fox Girl/Character were confirmed in the video. We’ll be getting new maps like the following (note: some of these were in the Beta, some weren’t but based off the video we know they exist): Circuit Royale, Midtown, Rio de Janeiro,  Colosseo, New Queen Street, and the unnamed monastery-like map which I believe is in India. We will be getting the new Push mode and will hopefully get at least one other mode to replace 2CP. 

New Tank: Junkerqueen - Junkerqueen will be the newest addition to the tank roster. Her weapons seem to be a shotgun and an ax. She also seems to have an ability, which may be her ultimate, that is a mix of Reinhardt’s charge and Orisa’s Javelin Spin. 

Overwatch 2 Release Date and the Founder’s Pack - OW2 will be releasing on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch consoles on October 4th. You will be eligible to get the Founder’s Pack if you own Overwatch before June 23rd, 2022 at 11:00 am PDT and to redeem the pack, you need to log into the live game by 12/05/2022 at 11:59 pm PDT. LUMÉRICO REVELATIONS: CEO GUILLERMO PORTERO UNDER FIRE

DORADO, MEXICO—LumériCo has been engulfed in scandal by documents brought to light by the hacker collective known as "Sombra." The documents are alleged to have been obtained during recent security breaches of the energy company's internal networks. While LumériCo and Mexican law enforcement have categorized these break-ins as criminal actions, the Sombra collective claims that it is "only acting in the public interest."

At this time, the massive file dump is still being analyzed and dissected, but a number of allegations have already been made, many of them focusing on the office of LumériCo CEO Guillermo Portero. Documents indicate that Mr. Portero used the company's funds as his own piggy bank, that he was personally involved in bribing public officials and creating a system of kickbacks and payoffs beneficial to LumériCo, and finally, that he proposed a plan to seize privately held land via government expropriation to expand LumériCo's facilities throughout Mexico.

In addition, emails revealed conversations with Indian megacorporation Vishkar to explore the exporting of LumériCo's proprietary energy systems to Vishkar's developments worldwide. Vishkar itself has recently been the subject of inquiries regarding its business dealings, particularly in the wake of its newest projects in Rio de Janeiro. Given the amount of investment Mexico has put into LumériCo, a partially state-sponsored energy company, its cozy relationship with Vishkar should be a cause for concern.

Mr. Portero has forcefully denied the accusations. "It is preposterous to place any faith in records purported to have been obtained by thieves. They are complete fabrications and have no basis in reality. I have dedicated my life to my home—my country—and I have only operated with the highest levels of integrity. I am confident that my name and the reputation of LumériCo will be cleared, that these baseless claims will be shown to be without merit, and that these criminals who have repeatedly broken the laws of our civil society will be brought to justice."

Meanwhile, Los Muertos, which has come out as a strong supporter of Sombra in recent days, has responded to the collective's revelations, calling for the immediate resignation and arrest of Mr. Portero and his co-conspirators, the deactivation of LumériCo's power plants pending an independent investigation into the company's governance, and reparations to citizens affected by LumériCo's policies. Los Muertos is organizing a protest to coincide with LumériCo's unveiling of the Dorado nuclear plant on November 1st.
