it is my pleasure to present to you guys the 2023 rick may tribute!!

this soldier themed collage was made by 55 different artists in order to honor late voice actor rick may, who died of covid related complications on april 8th of 2020. as the voice actor of TF2's soldier, as well as characters such as peppy hare in star fox 64, rick may has had a tremendous impact on gamers and, by extension, the internet as a whole for years. with this tribute we hope to extend his legacy as a man of many talents who meant more to us than we can describe.

you were good son, real good. maybe even the best. rest in peace, soldier, you absolutely deserve it.

It has been 4 years since the legend, Rick May, passed.

Rick May died on this day, 2020. I hope he knows what i know: the eclipse occured solely for him. It should be honoured to share this day, a bittersweet memorial.

I'm sorry I didn't finish this drawing... 4 days ago :( . I just remembered I couldn't get anything done for, y'know... April 8th.

I've just come to realize that I was designing Erica that day and that's why I didn't post anything abou it... And it's a sad coincidence that I designed Erica, Soldier's daughter, the same day that his VA, Rick May, passed away...

This topic is quite "sensitive" for me because I just got in the fandom like, 7 months ago, I couldn't actually like... Enjoy the "good moment" and "the peak" of tf2 :( and when I just started knowing about this beautiful game, Soldier was my fav character, well, he still is. It was so heartbreaking for me, and kinda frustrating:(

It was even sadder when I was yesterday watching Meet The Real Sniper w/ my lil brother and he asked "man, I wish they made a meet the real soldier one day!"... That was so sad and innocent of him:(

R.I.P Rick May, wished I had the chance to meet you.

Today, we remember a true legend who played iconic characters throughout our childhood. This man had served in the military, survived throat cancer and a heart attack, and inspired many with his talent. Although he has passed away, his legacy lives on.

A day late, but who cares. Yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of Rick May's death. It honestly sucks considering how much new content the TF2 voice actors have been giving us just on their own, it would have been really fun to see Rick May show up eventually especially if Shork ever decided to make a Meet The Real Soldier video.
