The Rick and Morty Presents: Unity comic has a lot of issues (the way they use she/her pronouns and very gendered language to refer to Unity and also there’s just a general feel of misogyny) but there are some moments from it that I definitely appreciate:

Honestly I just think this panel is hot 😅

Rick being extremely horny and up for an ‘erotic challenge’ with a catboy, a sentient slice of pizza, and a trunkperson ‘for Unity’ (but really just for himself)

I love how feral he looks here and also what weddings is he wrestling at? My headcanon is going to be that Rick just gatecrashes weddings to start drama with people he’s never met in his when he’s bored

Again Rick being unashamedly horny but also something about his face and pose in the second panel just cracks me up

Rick wakes up in restraints and his immediate thought is ‘oh this is hot’

We love perceptive Morty. Surprisingly I think this is actually one of the things that really demonstrated this trait of Morty’s to me - he knows Rick so well and sees through his bullshit

I feel like the Beths have SOOO much untapped potential. I obviously wouldn’t want the show to lose sight of Rick and Morty, but jeez… Can we have a B plot of the Beths as mothers instead of wives or daughters?

I know we have episodes like The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy, which is pretty strong, but I wish we had more insight into how the Beths’ parenting philosophies have grown to be different since the cloning. I could see a plotline where they’re arguing the whole time about how ‘hands-on’ they should be as mothers. I could see Space Beth calling Domestic Beth overbearing and Domestic Beth calling Space Beth heartless/neglectful.

Imagine an episode where Domestic Beth chooses Morty explicitly. Can we get a ‘I’m your mom. The version of your mom that chose you. The version of your mom that cares. The version of your mom that refuses to put you in danger again.’?!

What about an episode where they disagree over which child to prioritize?

SOMETHING, lol. If we’re going to have Space Beth around, let her coparent with her girlfriend, goddamnit. Give Morty some improvement with his mommy issues. God knows the kid needs it.

my most normie opinion ever is that i thought it was kind of funny. the design is so weird in like a humorous way, and i think their deadpan delivery was silly ("do you not hear the symphony of atoms dying in space?"). i mean its definitely a wackier approach but i didnt hate it

#asks #rick and morty #in general i really liked this episode it was super funny #but anyway yeah ive seen a lot of people mention that they thought jerricky was weird #which is fair but i dont know. it just doesnt really feel THAT crazy compared to other stuff r&m has done #maybe im desensitized #and while im here might i add that i didnt even hate the somewhat minimal morty in this episode #its done in a believable way and realistically shoving him in anywhere wouldnt have added anything #its still leagues above how s6 treated him #plus he still exists as a character and behaves the way he normally would #even if he isnt 100% present He still acts like he Should

i find the dimension codes in rnm sooo fascinating bc like… how are they decided. if ricks are the only ones capable of interdimensional travel its safe to assume they are the ones who decide on them right …. and based on prime being the one to distribute portal tech perhaps his dimension really is considered the Origin. dimension 1.

#i also wonder how/if the mortys created on the citadel are assigned dimension codes..#current hc is that they just get whatever code their first rick is. and before that they are assigned a separate identifying number or smth #wrt to the lettering system ive always viewed it as likeeeee. everything within that letter has some superficial simailarity #like a way to group dimensions. but i dont think this is actually supported much by canon #ohhh yes actually the news presenter ricks. they have the a b c format … but at the end #so moreso like slight iterations of a specific reality #like a universe where everything is the same except they say parmeesian. hmm #but still letters at the front being. categorising
