This is one of those cameras.

Cigar smoker in Malcolm X (Meridian Hill) Park in Washington, DC.  ReraPan100 127 format film in a 1940 Detrola KW camera, which has a Wollensak f/3.5 lens. I didn’t add quite enough fixer, which is what’s going on on the right side of the frame.

Some more pictures of things I will miss when I leave this place. Taken with a Kodak Brownie from the 60s (was given to me after my great uncle's death last summer) and ReraPan 400 film. Had a lot of fun taking these, and I think my great uncle would've liked them

I’m kind of an old soul. Would have loved living in the fifties..so automatically my interest go to working with older technologies, like analog film photo cameras.

This photo was made with a Yashica 44a camera using a rerapan iso400 film and was, to be honest, ruined a bit by removing the film in broad daylight and shooting this exposure with the film counter window left open...

Instagram users would see this effect as an upgrade to this picture and use it on their smartphone photos as a filter. I think 99% of them don’t even know how this is caused.

But this one is real, analogue, caused by mishandling the film roll, causing overexposure on the edges of the photo..

I think it’s kinda cool 😁

Zeiss Ikon "Baby" Ikonta - First Roll First time shooting this camera that was sold from 1931 to 1937. When I bought it a year or so ago, I didn't realize that it shoots 127 film. That size film is only available now under one brand...ReraPan 400. I had bought some of this film a while ago, but never shot it. I recently decided to give it a try. This camera is considered the "Baby" Ikonta, because it is a smaller version of the larger sized Zeiss Ikon that shoots 120 film. When I first started shooting with it, I had forgotten that the film was rated at 400. With a max shutter speed of 1/75, I realized later that I should have closed down the aperture under the sunny conditions at the time. Fortunately, I didn't totally overexpose those first few frames. This camera is very small...and quite unique and fun to shoot with. The shutter is extremely quiet...one of the quietest I have ever shot with.  It shoots images that are 3x4cm...which equates to about one third larger than 35mm negatives. This also means that it produces 16 "half-frame" portrait-orientation images. There were different  lenses and shutters available. This version has a 50mm f4.5 Norvar lens with a Derval shutter.
