Wanna go on a petty rant about this
I know you shouldn't be feeling angry about people making fan theories that you find are stupid and outlandish because it's ultimately fiction. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular. Just wanna rant about the theory that I find is bad on my tiny Tumblr to get it off my chest. Yes, I am ranting about a gay furry vn (Remember the flowers), spoilers for it in the read more plus spoilers for Echo VN (another gay furry vn).
The theory in Remember the Flowers that Xavier is evil actually and was a traitor is so fucking stupid like holy shit. How do you completely ignore basically the entire reason why Xavier was introduced as a character (albeit as someone mentioned not as himself) and also ignore what said introduction was saying about the events of chapter 5 and Cooper's entire character and what it means for Cyrus.
I will be fair and admit that I kinda get the emotional reasons as to why. I was in complete denial about the truth of Sydney's death in Echo up until I finished all the routes and looked shit up to be told that "yes you idiot, Chase WAS the culprit all along", and I have a lot of trouble dealing with Samuel's role in Echo vs his role in TSR because it all just makes me feel rotten inside for many reasons. So I see why people want to see nuance in that Cooper was wronged by Xavier and that there is potential for goodness in Cooper.
But just like with Echo, Remember the Flowers isn't gonna give you an easy way out of the discomfort that comes with having to deal with a character you like doing a horrible thing.

Ive been reading Remember the Flowers recently, a visual novel. Its my first one in a while, since playing Echo, and Ive gotta say its really cute. Dont get me wrong, some fuckshit happens. Im already through the second arc and holy shit, this story... It starts off confusing and stressful, but it transforms into something angering and sad as you piece together the main character's story. I gotta say, I recommend it.

it makes me soo happy to see cyrus be asexual and be in a relationship in remember the flowers. i haven't seen many asexual characters be in active relationships and i think it's really cool. the thing that really sold me on it was when he braced himself to explain being asexual and not being aromantic to cooper. that is something that i relate to very deeply and i haven't seen anything put that experience into words.
i feel like i should also say i don't mind having to explain that sorta thing to people because asexuality is something that is different for every person, i don't want it to seem like wanting further explanation for it is a bad thing that you shouldn't do.
