I've played 47 minutes of hyper light drifter and it is already a game of all time. It's like if tunic and botw got married, which is to say it's made specifically for me

[ID: 3 icons with the drifter from hyper light drifter on them. the drifter is a cat person with blue skin, wearing 2 red capes, one with a yellow diamond shaped jewel attached to it, and a black bodysuit underneath, potentially. he also wears a dark grey helmet with a cracked silver visor that has red markings on it, and silver bracers on his arms. he is holding his sword in one hand, which is cyan and red. his eyes are black.
the first icon is with the disability pride flag, the second is with the disability pride flag and also has a glittery rainbow autism infinity symbol in the left corner, and the third is with the transgender flag. end ID]

Headworlds as types of video games -
Katta: probably a mystery game, something that has you exploring every corner of the city and learning about the strange forces at work in the world. 2D or 2.5D pixel art.
Quest Island: massive open world rpg, exploring the continent and collecting crafting materials, meeting dragons and beastfolk. 3D game with a similar visual style to Skyrim or Elden Ring.
Thedir: real time strategy game or a base/colony management game. Managing your resources and deciding what to pick up from stations and planets. 2D game with low graphics but super detailed character portraits.
Wildcourts: colourful action game with epic challenging bosses and a bunch of weapons and magic powers to use. Choosing to tackle the bosses in a different order will get you different endings. Possibly a bullet hell, 2.5D or isometric visuals.

Small Hyper Light Drifter Headcanons that I've picked up from a few fics I've read.
The Drifter uses his bot companion(?) to communicate by either sign to it to translate into text, or manually type in the words onto the holographic keyboard.
Drifter's throat is damaged from his illness, and is unable to really speak clearly. He could, but it's barely just below a hoarse soft-spoken voice or a whisper, and even if he speaks as quiet as possible, it hurts his throat to do so.
He really ever use his voice with the Guardian when they're alone and in very close proximity. I love driftguard—
Alternative Headcanon: Since Drifter was born a blue-skinned, one of those lab made people, he was somehow born a runt. He's shorter than the others and was simply born mute, only capable of making really hoarse, wheezy, and quiet sounds.
This one is pretty much stolen from a hc from Madness Combat with Deimos being a runt in the batch, so yeah—
Also, back to the damaged throat from illness one, I think that the illness probably had highly likely affected his lungs also. As someone who had been through covid, I noticed that my lungs' air capacity seems to have reduced? So I apply the same thing to Drifter, but he hides his exhaustion well enough to keep pushing forward. Oh, this also applies for Guardian and anyone else who were also afflicted, though how badly affected they are varies from person to person.

Have you ever played anything like warhammer or hyper light drifter? I get some of the same vibes off your artwork (stunning btw)
First off, thank you!!!
Secondly, that's a bit of a sort-of?
I have played Warhammer! Admittedly I haven't done much with the war-game portion of tabletop outside of a few kill team games, but my first experiences with ttrpgs were actually being in some years-long Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader campaigns, so I'm fairly familiar with the setting. (The tech priests are very gender to me.)
As for hyperlight drifter, though I have been meaning to play it eventually for years now, truth be told I don't really know much about it, though the aesthetics are right up my alley.

A person over on the hyper light drifter discord server did a really cool au concept sketch, so I decided to hop on and did my version of a medieval guardian
