Further to my Pedro Boys & Cocktails Ramble, here are some signature Javier Peña cocktails, inspired by our favourite surly DEA agent.
Again, there are no measurements, so you can make them as strong or as weak as you'd like. 🍹
If you make any, tag me in the pics as I'd love to see your creations. Cocktail images are a guideline reference as to what I would imagine they would look like based on the ingredients, but are not vebatim. Go nuts.

The drink that started it all. 'The Loredo Legspreader.'
Clear gin, lemongrass, lemongrass syrup, fresh lime juice, red Thai chilli to garnish. Serve with a cigarette and a sour resting bitch face. Sweaty pink shirt optional.
'The Loredo Legspreader - Pink Shirt Version.'
Clear gin, raspberry syrup, pomegranate grenadine, fresh lemon juice, egg white froth to top and a lemon peel twist. Replace egg froth with Javi's own froth, if desired. Sweaty pink shirt mandatory.
'The Resting Bitch Face.'
Vodka, splash of dry vermouth, sugar syrup, pureed strawberries, cracked black pepper, strawberry and mint sprigs to garnish. Pout to your hearts content. Give everyone the finger. Especially Steve. 🖕🏻
'This Cat Pussy Is DEA.'
Tequila Blanco, agave nectar, thyme simple syrup, freshly squeezed orange juice, low cal soda. Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs and an orange slice. Salty rim optional. Don't worry, your pussy will be tangy enough on Javier's tongue, cariño. Miaow.
'Colombian Cunt Licker.'
Red layer: Alizé red passion liqueur, or substitute for any dark red liqueur.
Blue layer: Blue curaçao and lemonade/Sprite.
Yellow layer: Vodka and pineapple juice.
Pour slowly over the back of a spoon for each layer in order of the Colombian flag colours. Top with a pineapple chunk. Cuss wildly when it doesn't fucking work. Say screw it and mix it all up and spread your legs ready for Javier's tongue instead.
'The Papi Chulo.'
Vodka, peach schnapps, raspberry liqueur, pureed raspberries, sugar syrup, fresh lemon juice, raspberries to top. Then go visit your favourite hooker in Bogotá. Take plenty of cash. Get better the more you practice. Aye Papi.
'The Sweaty Javi.'
Gin, splash of tequila, sage bitters, grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed lemon juice, rosemary simple syrup, pinch of salt. Screw up your face with how tart this will taste. Then proceed to lick some sweaty collarbone for a refreshing alkaline relief.
'The Hillbilly Duck Hunter.'
Bourbon Whiskey, stewed and cooled black tea (loose leaf or bagged), citrus oil or lime juice, lime to garnish. Serve over ice. Get your shotgun and go quackers. Fuckin' hillbilly...
'Smoky Leather Jacket.'
Bourbon Whiskey, agave syrup, splash of cherry brandy, black cherry juice, seltzer water, black cherries to garnish. Serve over ice. Smoky and rich, just like that leather jacket. Lapel nuzzling optional, but encouraged. As is thigh riding on Javier whilst you drink it.
'The Peña Tenderloin.'
Bourbon whiskey, dash of orange bitters, peach syrup, peach schnapps, maraschino cherries and a grilled peach slice to top. Drink, then take a bite out of that tight, pert DEA agent ass like a piece of rare meat.
'Downright Un-American.'
Cooled green mint tea, maple syrup, clear gin, splash of apple schnapps, cucumber slices, soda or tonic water, freshly squeezed lime juice, mint leaves to top. Sleep with all the communists you can find and then act appalled about it when questioned.
'Nicotine Kiss.'
Dark rum, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice. Garnish with lemon wedge or peel. Proceed to chain smoke at least forty cigarettes before enjoying.

Tennessee summers are no joke. It’s the third week that you’ve endured constant sunny days that heat up the concrete and humidity that makes the hairs stick to the back of your neck. The only positive thing about the heat was the fact that the house you had recently moved into with your boyfriend Jake had a very private backyard with a pool.
You spend every free moment you can alternating between dipping in the water and basking in the sun chair just at the pool’s edge. On days like today, the sun shines down from a cloudless sky and a consistent breeze keeps you from finding solace back in the air conditioning, making you content to stretch out with a new book. During the hotter days, Jake usually spends his time in the home studio, writing up new melodies and recording bits of arrangements to show the guys at their office, but you know he’s decided to join you as you hear the back door open and glance up to see him in a pair of red swim trunks with two drinks in hand.
Setting the drinks on the small table beside you, he leans down to plant a kiss on your forehead.
“How’s the book?”
You hum at the feeling of his soft lips on your skin, tilting your face towards him to give him a proper kiss.
“A little slow,” you say onto his lips, “but I just started it, so hopefully it’ll pick up.”
He kisses you softly once more before straightening and to grab one of the drinks he brought with him. With a grandiose flourish of his free hand, he extends the glass towards you with a bow.
“I have brought m’lady a refreshment.” He tries and fails to contain his smirk as he looks up at you through his lashes. You giggle at his theatrics, taking the glass from his hand.
“Why thank you sir, I was quite parched.” you say, mirroring his false British accent. You can’t help but hold up your drink to admire his handiwork. “What did you make?” You rotate the glass to see the raspberries that settled at the bottom.
“A ‘raspberry lemonade vodka spritzer’, or at least that’s what the recipe I found said it was. I used those raspberries we got at the farmer’s market yesterday.” You look up at him to find him smiling softly down at you. Taking a sip, you savor the cold tartness of the drink and let out a soft moan of satisfaction.
“Baby, I don’t know if I can let you go back on the road next week,” you say to him as he raises an eyebrow and takes a sip from his own drink, “I think you’re gonna have to stay home and make me cocktails and kiss me instead.”
He laughs, leaning in to do just that.
“That’s very tempting, sugar.”
Pulling away much too soon for your liking, he sets his drink down and begins undoing the two buttons that hold his loose black shirt together.
“You gonna get in too?” he asks over his shoulder as he steps into the pool.
“Sure, gimme a sec to finish this chapter.” You try to focus on the words on the page, but you can’t help but steal glances up at Jake as he wades deeper into the water and dunks himself under, becoming fully submerged. He comes up for air and you admire the way the water travels in rivulets down his chest and arms. Suddenly, the breeze doesn’t seem as cool as before.
You watch him as he pushes back his wet hair with both hands, tipping his head back towards the sun. His skin is golden from days spent hiking when he was out on tour and you can see the veins in his hands that trail up his forearms, making your heart beat a little faster.
Book thoroughly forgotten, you stand up from your chair and grab both drinks, bringing them to the edge of the pool before stepping in yourself. The water sends a shock over your overheated skin, making you shiver. Luckily, you reach him in a few easy strides, the water only coming up past your belly button. His hands immediately reach to grip your hips as he pulls you to him.
“Hi,” he mutters into your hair, your arms wrapping around his neck in a loose hug.
His hands trail from your hips, up your sides, and back down in one long languid stroke while you stand there, enjoying each other’s company. You tighten your arms to pull him nearer and breathe in his scent. He smells of the woods with a hint of cigar smoke, a particular pairing that makes you lightheaded and your knees weak. His scent is grounding and safe. But it’s also extremely attractive. You don’t even care that he’s dripping wet as you bury your face into his neck and hold him close.
You smile as his hands begin to wander away from your sides and hips, drifting around your ass and grabbing a handful.
“I really like this suit on you.” he says, kneading your flesh. Your face warms with the compliment as your body hums under his touch. He grabs shamelessly at you, pulling you firmly against him so that you can feel him beginning to harden between you. Your lips leave a soft trail of kisses up his neck and his hum of encouragement makes you softly bite at the skin of his jaw. Jake has no intention of taking things slow as his hands move lower and he lifts you up so that your legs are wrapped around his waist.
His lips find your own and it feels as if it’s the first time you’ve ever kissed, not the twentieth time today. You could spend forever kissing him. When he’s away on tour you miss him like crazy, the FaceTimes and phone calls nothing in comparison to his real presence. You only have three more days of this bliss before he’s back on the road, sharing his talent and beautiful soul with thousands of people. You will yourself to stay in the moment as his tongue enters your mouth. His lips are passionate and confident against your own, claiming you under the late July sun. You let out a soft moan as he takes your bottom lip between his teeth and pulls.
He releases you for only a second and his full lips are suddenly trailing over your cheek to your ear. His breath is uneven against you but you feel his smirk against the shell of your ear as he whispers, “Hold your breath.”
He barely gives you a second to process his demand before his grip tightens on your thighs and he’s dunking you both under the water. Your arms cling to him on instinct as your head goes under. Luckily, the shock of the movement makes you take a gasping breath in and you hold it as your head goes under. The two of you are only fully submerged for less than a second, but you still come up sputtering for air.
“Jake!” you smack his wet chest, his grip never wavering on your legs that are wrapped around him. The sound of his laugh washes away any frustration you might have had as he continues his assault of kisses along your jaw.
“I just wanted to get you as wet as I can,” he murmurs against your neck and suddenly everything else in the world doesn’t matter. You’re fully focused on him as your blood heats up at the intention behind his words. His fingers start their wandering once more, coasting over your ass and hips to play with the strings holding your bathing suit together. You can tell that he wants more, his fingers tugging on the strings but never fully untying them. You want more too. You want all of it. All of him.
Your thighs clench around his hips as he begins to move. He wades through the shallow water until he reaches the three smooth steps that lead out of the pool. You think he’s going to carry you out and back into the house to finish what he started, but he gently sets you on the steps and unhooks one of your legs to hover above you.
Your hands trace the small rivers of water that run down his neck and he closes his eyes, taking in the feeling of your fingers on his skin. His touch wanders, continuing to tease the strings of your swimsuit, but two can play at that game. You don’t waste any time dragging your fingers down his chest and delicious stomach to the waistband of his red swim trunks. Your touch is featherlight as you tease him. His breath hitches as you trace his growing bulge over his swimsuit. You love the way you can make him react with such small actions. He is fully focused on your movement as your hand dips underneath his waistband and you grip him lightly.
He’s holding his breath, eyes trained on the movement of your hand, watching it stroke him out of view under his shorts. You lean up to kiss a vein that begins bulging in his neck at his lack of oxygen as you fall into a steady rhythm.
“Breathe, baby,” you whisper to him and your grip tightens at his base, encouraging him to break from his trance. His breath comes out in a jagged hiss as his gaze breaks away to meet yours. Fire burns behind his irises and it looks like he wants to devour you right there. You wouldn’t mind that. His hips jerk to meet the motions of your hand and soon he’s grinding into you, his piercing stare never leaving your own. Both of your breathing is ragged as he drops his forehead to yours.
He only breaks the eye contact as you twist your fist around him, causing more friction. His eyebrows scrunch together and his eyes squeeze close as he lets out a series of curses all in one erratic breath.
“Sugar, I’m not going to last much longer.” His voice comes out in a gasp, lips coming down to leave wet, open-mouthed kisses along your throat. “Let me touch you first.” Though his voice shakes, his hands are sure as he grips your hips. His fingers tangle in your swimsuit bottoms in silent question.
“Yes,” you answer, your voice just as breathless as his. His hips still jerk with the motion of your hand as he yanks the fabric off of you. The soft browns of his eyes burn hotter at the sight of you, exposed for him, only covered by a shallow blanket of water.
Almost reluctantly, he grips the arm that is connected to him, stilling it and pulling it away from him with a kiss to your wrist.
“We’ll get back to that, don't you worry,” he mumbles as his attention is focuses right back to you.
Your body shakes with need as his hands grip your thighs once more and your lips connect in a hungry kiss.
“I’m– going– to– miss– you– so– much,” you say between jagged gasps from the feeling of his lips dragging down your throat and chest and his thumbs rubbing taunting circles over your inner thighs.

You smile, soaking up the moments you have with him until you shift under his body, reality coming back to you and the feeling of the tile no longer comfortable against your exposed skin.
“Baby, let’s get out. I need you to show me if your cocktail skills are as good as your snack-making skills.” You push lightly against his shoulders as he reluctantly sits up and scoots off your body.
He leans up and kisses you tenderly.
“Anything you want.”

Fave drinks of all The Men + Lusa?
Why was my first thought "alcoholic drinks?" The answer is not, in fact, alcoholic drinks.
Giovanni
Big fan of Horchata, even though everyone thinks he's weird for it. Only drinks it on occasion as a treat to himself.
Maxie
Vodka Iced tea, either sweet or peach. Especially the kind that's actually just powder/liquid that you mix into water, because he has to trick himself into drinking water.
Archie
Water, obviously. He also likes the squeeze bottles, particularly MiO Water Enhancers.His favourite is Wicked Blue Citrus.
Cyrus
He's not picky, usually he'll pick up whatever is put in front of him, but has become weirdly fond of Faze Pop Ghost. Guzma bought some and didn't like it, so it got left in the fridge, where Cyrus decided to take it, and he got kind of hooked to it because it tastes better than the stuff he usually drinks to stay up when he's working.
Ghetsis
Chamomile Tea, but generally any hot tea or hot drink he enjoys. Strongly anti-iced tea and thinks Maxie is an idiot.
Colress
Coffee. There's a very uneven Coffee/Energy Drink split on the team, and he's the main coffee guy. They literally didn't have a coffee machine until he bought one. He makes it with vanilla almond milk.
Lysandre
Anything with pomegranate juice in it. Big fan of the Raspberry Pomegranate Refresher from Starbucks.
Guzma
Energy drink enthusiast. Usually gets the fruit punch flavors. There's this thing at the coffee shop by my house I think he'd like called a Blenderkiller that's a bunch of ice blended up with a redbull, a rockstar, and 5 types of Torani syrup.
Lusamine
Cherry lemonade, preferably with Maraschino cherries. Big fan of fruit drinks in general, but lemonade she gets weirdly specific about. Hates pulp in drinks and wants to strangle whoever puts it there.

Mangle's Twist
Ingredients:
2 oz raspberry vodka
1 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz triple sec
Splash of lemonade
Twisted orange peel for garnish
Instructions:
Fill a shaker with ice.
Pour in 2 oz of raspberry vodka.
Add 1 oz of cranberry juice to the shaker.
Include 1/2 oz of triple sec for an extra layer of citrus flavor.
Add a splash of lemonade for a refreshing touch. Adjust the amount based on your taste preferences.
Shake the ingredients well to chill the mixture.
Strain the cocktail into a chilled glass.
Garnish with a twisted orange peel for an aromatic and visually appealing presentation.

Although this week is primarily dominated by back-to-school for many New Yorkers, there’s another main event transpiring in these parts over the weekend: the U.S. Open Tennis Championships men’s and women’s singles finals! One of four Grand Slam tennis tournaments globally, over 700,000 racket ball fans will flock to Queens to watch the games this year. While they are being treated to the spectacle of fast-paced, adrenalin-pumping tennis, they can also indulge in a dizzying array of chef-prepared dishes, cocktails and classic sporting event snacks. In fact, it is well known that the world-class food offerings are a secondary draw in attracting ticket sales for the Open!
But don’t worry if you aren’t one of the lucky ticket holders to this weekend’s center court finals. We have the skinny on how to create the iconic refreshment of the Open — as well as those of the three other Grand Slams — using fresh, locally grown ingredients sourced from the farmers market. So, get ready to sit back and enjoy the televised games and their signature food and drinks all from the comfort of your own couch.
1. US Open: Honey Deuce Cocktail
Essentially an adult version of pink lemonade, Honey Deuce has been the official drink of the U.S. Open for nearly two decades. The centerpiece of this trademark cocktail is its honeydew melon ball skewer that perfectly replicates neon green tennis balls and transports you straight to the spectator stands. It’s peak melon season in the farmers markets right now, which means you shouldn’t have any problem selecting a perfectly ripe melon to use in this recipe:
Ingredients (Yield: 6-8 servings)
• 1 farmers market honeydew melon
• 3 cups store-bought or homemade lemonade
• 1½ cups vodka
• ½ cup raspberry liqueur, such as Chambord
• ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (from 1 to 2 lemons)
• Ice
1. Use a melon baller or mini ice cream scoop to shape the honeydew into balls. Freeze until ready to serve.
2. Combine lemonade, vodka, raspberry liqueur and lemon juice in a pitcher. Stir and refrigerate until chilled.
3. Fill highball or old-fashioned glasses with ice. Stir pitcher once more and divide it among the glasses. 4. Thread 2-3 melon balls onto a swizzle stick or cocktail skewer and immerse in the drink or place across the top.
2. Wimbledon: Strawberries and Cream
Eating strawberries and cream for Wimbledon is the famously authentic way to enjoy Britain’s biggest tennis event of the year. The tradition originated in the early 1500s under Henry VIII, who would serve the dish to guests watching tennis being played at his Hampton Court palace. It became inextricably linked to the game and has gone on to become a symbol of one of the world's greatest tennis showcases with 192,000 portions of strawberries and cream served each year during the 2-week tournament.
While strawberries are not as abundant in the farmers market this time of year as they are in spring, you may still find some at the stands of our specialty fruit growers, who plant a wide variety of strawberries to ensure they can harvest berries throughout the warm weather months. If not, raspberries are back in season and make a great substitute. To whip up a dish of this sweet Wimbledon delicacy, simply remove the strawberry’s leaves and core as necessary. Place hulled strawberries in a petite dish and pour unwhipped, unsweetened heavy cream on top. Serve with a (silver) spoon.
3. French Open: Baguette Sandwiches
In a decidedly novel cultural and sporting event approach, spectators are allowed to bring their own food to the French Open, also known as the Roland-Garros. In fact, it is not an uncommon sight to see Parisians tucking into full picnics within the stadium grounds. Of course, the classic and very French ham & cheese sandwich makes a regular appearance in the stands:
Ingredients (Serves 4)
1 Wave Hill Breads French baguette
3 tablespoons butter, softened at room temperature
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
8 ounces Goode and Local by Don Rodrigo sliced ham
8 ounces thinly sliced gruyere cheese
10 Pickle Licious cornichons, thinly sliced lengthwise
Instructions: Halve the baguette lengthwise. Spread one side with butter and the other with mustard. Layer the ham, cheese, and cornichons on the bottom half of the baguette. Close the sandwich and cut crosswise into four equal portions while pressing down lightly. Serve immediately.
4. Australian Open: Peach Melbourne
While Wimbledon has its strawberries and cream, the Australian Open has its Peach Melbourne. A play on traditional Peach Melba, this Aussie tennis classic is simply vanilla ice cream topped with pureed peaches and freeze-dried raspberries. It’s super easy to replicate at home as ripe peaches and fresh raspberries are abundant in the farmers market right now plus, last time I checked, vanilla ice cream is still a widely popular flavor.

Best Signature Cocktails at Universal CityWalk
If you've ever visited one of the Universal Orlando theme parks, you know it all begins with a stroll through Universal CityWalk, which is an attraction all it's own. One of my favorite things to do on a day I'm not spending a full d ay in the theme parks is to grab a drink and a bite to eat with some friends at one of the many bars and restaurants dotting CityWalk. if you're looking for unique and signature cocktails that truly capture that sprit of each of the distinct shops along the way, there's something you- and everyone else you're with- will love. Here are my faves at each of CityWalk's main stops:
Bigfire
Top Pick: Lakeside Punch
On a warm day, there a few drinks more refreshing and delicious than this. A combination of vodka and orange, pineapple, and cranberry juices make this a crisp, citrusy choice to sip with just about any item on the menu- my pick is the bourbon cheese fondue, which is served with bread and veggies for dipping.
Honorable mention: PB&J
If you're looking for a unique and fun twist on your typical Old Fashioned, this drink is for you. The combination of peanut butter whiskey, bourbon, and raspberry liqueur gives you a drink that is a little sweeter than what you might expect, but in a really satisfying way. Sitting down at the bar and looking out over the fire pits outside is really the ideal way to enjoy this sandwich-turned-drink.
Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar
Top Pick: Ruby Panther

I know what you're thinking: can a milkshake really be a cocktail? I don't know if I would say that normally, but in this case, I'm going to say yes. This drink is big enough to share, and is very sweet and delicious. It combines rum, banana liqueur, vanilla ice cream, big chucks of banana and peanut butter cups into a boozy treat worthy of the extra sugar intake. I can't imagine taking this on alone, but if you've got a crew to share with, I wouldn't pass this one up.
Vivo Italian Kitchen
Top Pick: Limoncello Collins
This play on the traditional Tom Collins features dry gin, limoncello, simple syrup and lemon juice. I'm not typically a big fan of gin drinks, but the limoncello gives this one a crisp, refreshing flavor profile that is a great complement to the hearty food items you might order here, like the Baked Eggplant Parmigiana or Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. Extra points for the amazing outdoor seating area that lets you enjoy the atmosphere- and people watch!
Honorable mention: The Local
I'm always a fan of drinking (and eating) local whenever possible, so I love that these cocktail features locally distilled vodka, along with lime juice, agave syrup, and fig and strawberry jam. The jam brings a slight sweetness to the drink that balances with the lime and vodka perfectly.
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen
Top Pick: Old Chocolate Fashioned
It makes sense that one of the best drinks I've ever had is a chocolate drink at the Chocolate Emporium. This drink is made with chocolate whiskey, cherry liqueur, chocolate, and orange bitters. The thing that really stands out is the balance between the chocolate and bourbon- this is something that would even appeal to those who aren't big bourbon drinkers but isn't so sweet that it is a big departure from the Old-Fashioned vibe you'd expect. it's a great twist on a classic that is executed perfectly. I especially enjoy sipping on this one from the upstairs bar, which offers pretty spectacular views of all of CityWalk.
Honorable mention: Peach Smash
This is a bourbon enthusiast jackpot. It's made with bourbon, peach puree, lime juice and aromatic bitters, which gives it a nice complexity while still maintaining a bourbon-forward flavor to it.
NBC Sports Grill & Brew
Top Pick: Crimson Derby
This fruity cocktail is a blend of rum, cherry liqueur, simple syrup, lime juice and pineapple juice and is a great option if you prefer a mixed drink to the huge beer selection NBC Sports Grill has. This is a clear fave if you want to settle in to watch something on game day and munch on pretzel while you drink.
Honorable mention: Southern Magarita
Moonshine is the star of this cocktail, along with triple sec, agave nectar, and fresh orange and lime juice. It makes for an excellent version of a margarita with a deeper flavor profile that is unique without seeming like totally different drink.

I won't deny that I like bourbon a lot, but this drink is great even if you're not as big of a fan as I am. I'm not usually a fan of spicy drinks, but this one is so fun and different that I can't help but recommend it as a one to try. This twist on a margarita is made with pineapple jalapeno tequila, agave nectar, fresh lime, and a pineapple ice pop. I love the inclusion of the ice pop, which makes for a head-turning presentation.

Top Pick: Pat O'Brien's Hurricane
If you know, you know. Hurricanes are famous for a reason, and Pat O'Brien's is home of the original Hurricane, made with rum and hurricane mix (which is a combination of orange and passionfruit juice). If you've never had this drink from this bar, you're missing out. The mango is refreshing and light, and doesn't have a strong tequila flavor, which I personally prefer. This particular drink is made with house mango tequila, trip sec, orange juice, house margarita m ix and agave.
Honorable Mention: Who's to Blame
This is the signature Margarita of Margaritaville and is a classic combination of house tequila, triple sec, and house margarita mix. It is well-crafted and there's no better place to sit back and sip this cocktail and take in the atmosphere.

This cocktail, made from rum, blue curacao, blackberry liqueur and pineapple juice, is sweet and fruity, and is perfect for mentally transporting you to a warm beach in the Caribbean (especially if you're taking in some of the bar's live music while your drink it.)
