Jimmy Page performing at Olympia Stadium, Detroit, October 18, 1969, just a few days before Led Zeppelin II was released. I love how he’s wearing both the victorian shirt and his iconic low hanging jacket, I’ve only seen him wearing these separately.
“My son Jason, he plays, you know. [...] He’s got his mother’s looks but in character he’s just like me. He’s always drumming. [...] Before the end of Led Zeppelin I’m going to have him on stage with us at the Albert Hall.”
- John Bonham (Disc magazine, June 1970)
In this interview his passion for drums and his love for his family is very evident and it made me shed a tear.
I find it crazy that he had calls from Joe Cocker and Chris Farlowe, but ultimately chose to play for Led Zeppelin. He chose passion over safe money and fame (even though he got them as well, but it wasn’t granted that they would have made it big).
This interview was quite a finding, because there isn’t much about him. There aren’t many interviews or videos, so this offered a very plesurable insight to his character that makes me appreciate him even more.
I think I can genuinely say that ELO might be my all-time favorite band. Like I’ve said before, they’re one of like three bands I like where I can say I like almost 100% of their songs.
"No Plant, no Page?" There was Vices era, when they did (most of) Immigrant Song. Alas, only during 3 shows did they pull out this one, at least seemingly on a whim. (Ian is a fecking shredder goddamn.) This is from the second time.
the pain (and pleasure) of hearing these recordings is unbearable!!! like what if things were different and they could have worked on and released this!! fuck!!!
