I've been burning out on this project for awhile now, tho I'm committed to completing the dex. However, I have been thinking about what will happen to this blog after I finish the dex and I think I would like to take the time to redesign my redesigns. I don't know if I will but at the moment I was really excited to do it :P
So here is something no one asked for - A redesign of my own Plague Birds for this spooky season.
Movesets and TMs/TRs are rough ideas and could be subject to change. (also I used the old Galar TMs/TRs because it was easier to reference on Serebii than the new TMs of Scarlet/Violet)

Do you spend all your time bothering lesbians on the internet, or do you have anything else to do? like a job? Or college?
Actually if you look at my blog, you can see I've never been a part of this discourse before today.
I just think this is funny right now, and whenever I run out of energy to deal with this stupidity I'll stop.

Oops, I made the terfs mad! I'll be honest the attacks against my appearance make me a little mad, cause those are just low blows that hurt, but then they did the weird eye whites thing and that just seems like eugenics.
I'm just glad they're attacking me and not trans women lol.
Oh! And since they're definitely reading my blog, my name is Robert Reid, I'm a Non-Binary Queer Man, and you can't fuck with me

in another time, in another place
Inspired by certain other blogs (typescrambledex and random-typepokemondex) I wanted to try my own drawing hand at the random-type challenge! But rather than start with gen 1 like a more logical person would do, I decided to skip to my favorite selection of pokemon, gen 5! Because otherwise we’ll be here all day.
Ground(heh) Rules
I used RNG to assign new types to every gen 5 pokemon already. However, I allowed myself veto privileges to assure 1) pokemon didn’t wind up with a typing they already had, and 2) there was an even distribution of types.
For added fun and to up the challenge factor, I rerolled a few to make sure that every dual-type combo is unique to its pokemon line. This rule obviously will not apply if I ever eventually move beyond gen 5, but that’s for future me to worry about.
The legendary trios will still have 1 shared typing between them.
I probably won’t be coming up with name and pokedex entries for every pokemon, so feel free to suggest away; or you can ask about your favorite pokemon’s new typing and offer design ideas. 156 Pokemon is a lot to do, and I welcome the help.

I decided to test out my new markers by making some type swapped Pokemon, inspired by @random-typepokemondex
I didn’t want to cover ground they already had so I randomized the Pokémon I’d be drawing as well as the type. Came up with Swinub and Piloswine with Bug/Bug. So have some pure bug type Swinub and Piloswine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Swinub was pretty easy since it’s already a very beetle like shape. With Piloswine, I decided to draw some inspiration from the Ohmu from Nausicaa. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.

This is a Pokedex Challenge project, inspired by @typescrambledex and @random-typepokemondex, in which the goal is to draw every Pokemon with a random type. There are some rules to this, mostly as guidelines to myself. They are the following:
A Pokemon's type is decided entirely by RNG. It keeps the same number of types it originally had. (so single-type Pokemon get their type replaced by a single random type, and dual-type Pokemon get two random types)
If the rolled type(s) are among the type(s) the Pokemon originally had, be it originally, in one of its evolved forms, in a different form, etc., it will be re-rolled.
Types are retained throughout the entire evolutionary line, unless the original Pokemon's type changed upon evolution. If this is the case, the random type changes in the same way. This also goes for Pokemon which gain or lose a type upon evolution. (For example, when Scyther evolves into Scizor it trades its secondary Flying type for a Steel type. When randomized Scyther evolves, it trades its random secondary type for an equally random but new secondary type.)
Exceptions and special cases:
Pokemon which are part of a (thematic) group and share a type because of it receive the same random type. Examples are various legendary trios, like Kanto's Bird Trio or Unova's Tao Trio, but also non-legendaries like Sawk and Throh.
Starters get types from different, but still matching, type cycles. The direction of the cycle does not necessarily stay the same, however. The cycle is picked from a file containing all possible type cycles, bar any used for other starters in this project. (Examples of other type cycles are Ice-Ground-Rock, Fighting-Dark-Psychic, or Water-Ground-Electric.)
Eevee receives a single random type. Its evolutions keep that same type, and gain a secondary type to go with it. This secondary type is one used by a different Eeveelution: their types have been shuffled to ensure all Eeveelutions are entirely random.

Design wise, I have very little to say about this boi. I stole almost the whole thing from the unreleased beta evolution of ditto. While I do imagine they sit like ditto (all blobby and such) I do like the mental image of them running along one little blobby legs. Another entry in the 'head empty little guy' catalog.
In universe, these guys would be a metal like mercury (liquid at room temp) and they can only copy things that have looked into them (so mirror rules instead of genetic copys)

" In ancient times, this pokemon were used in colosseums. Their thick hides grant them a surprising resistance to most attacks. This is much needed as they highly aggressive and often find themselves in battles."

another design that kicked my butt. I had a lot of expectations for lapras's redesign (because the original is so good) but I kept tripping up. I finally settled on a concept I liked ( Ankylosaurus ) but I could not for the life of me make it work the way I wanted it (shape or colors)

while these guys are a HUGE departure from magicarp and garydos's original designs, I kinda really love them. I mostly played with the concept of a tiny little guy becoming a massive fierce dude. There is a level of mystic in wandering a massive forest where the scale of the foliage makes you feel like a bug, surrounded by creatures that are equally towering.Through in some big foot vibes too, for good measure :D

I thought about trying some crazy redesign with pinser but in the end I decided to play it easy and safe. I kept the overall silhouette and worked around it. A very lovely part of doing these redesigns is that I can force my love of goofy faced mons with no thoughts in their heads onto so many mons >:) In "pinser's" defense, being full of magma doesn't leave a lot of room for a brain.
