Product Review: Slim Coffee

OR... I bought something so you might not have to.

Got this stuff recently off Amazon.

Sigh.

I am just not in love with it yet.

I bought it on a whim and later when I saw the price again I was like.....whaaaaaat?

ZOINKS!

But I have not been able to find a forskolin tablet so I thought what the Heck.

The tablets seems to help something as a non thermogenesic something or another but walmart doesn't carry them anymore & when I used the internet machine to order some, they cancelled my order without giving me a reason.

So..... that's my life.

But the price? Eh.

You add it to coffee. It can make it taste a little bitter. I am not sure if it is helping or not.... but it should.

When I can mask the taste.

It is like a just slightly off kilter chocolate.

It does come in a handy packet so it would be nice for on the go situations.

What do you think? Worth a shot or waste of time?

Ready To Play vs. Tournament Legal Play

I was at Fantasium a week or so ago, and saw that they had received the first shipment of the new WWE Dice Masters. They had the Campaign Box and both of the expansion boxes. And I love the Dice Masters games. They're good, and they're 100% cross-compatible. Which is nice. It means I can field Ninja Turtles while my opponent has an army of Space Marines, and there are no hiccups or other issues. Here's what I don't like, though: The Campaign Box gives you three of each included character's dice.  The expansions give you two of each included character's dice.  In tournament play, you can have up to four dice for each character you include. So, while you can play tournaments with just the base game, you might be at a disadvantage compared to someone who bought two base sets (or two copies of the expansions).  But buying two copies of these gets you a bunch of extra cards. Two copies of the base game gets you a bunch of extra cards and a couple of extra dice (and a bunch of extra Basic Action and Minion dice). There are a few other oddities, too. Like Bret "The Hit Man" Hart has three dice in the base game, and two dice in one of the expansions. But the expansion dice are a different color. It's frustrating. It's still better than the random distribution they were using, though. And it's dramatically better than what Fantasy Flight has done with their Legend of the Five Rings card game (L5R). A tournament-legal deck for L5R includes 1 Stronghold, 1 Role, and then two decks of 40-45 cards each (the Dynasty and Conflict decks).  The Dynasty deck can only contain cards that are neutral or from a single clan. The Conflict deck can only be neutral or from a single clan or from a single other Clan puchased by using Influence. I'm going to ignore the Conflict deck for a moment, here. Let's talk about the Dynasty deck: The base game includes 20 neutral Dynasty cards and 15 Dynasty cards from each clan.  That's 35 cards for someone's Dynasty deck. There is no way to make a tournament-legal deck from the starter box. There's not even deckbuilding strategy involved, either. To play in a tournament, you need to buy more cards. And, unless you buy a bunch more, you won't have many options for deck construction, either.  Their expansions all include "play sets" (three of each included card), which is nice. But why doesn't the base set even include the ability to put together a single tournament-legal deck? Let me put on my Grumpy Old Man hat for a second, here: In 1993, when I bought my first deck of Magic: the Gathering cards, I paid $8 for a starter pack, and instantly had a tournament-legal deck in my hands. It wasn't a good tournament deck, but it was legal. Unless I had a banned card - but the banned/restricted list was still in the future. In fact, I played in a number of single-starter sealed deck tournaments. Because they were fun and viable. Now, I know that a Magic starter is not $8 anymore. But it's still a whole lot less than the $40 that FFG is charging for their L5R starter. And WotC now produces non-random starters, too, so you know what you're going to get. And - yes - Magic is still mostly provided in random booster packs, where L5R (and Dice Masters now) are mostly sold as fixed starters and expansions. It just throws up unnecessary speed bumps for new players. With Dice Masters, you have limited options, but you can put together two tournament-legal sets from just the base game. Would you guys support if I decided to start a company making computer peripherals?

I mean, obviously that wouldn’t be a thing to happen any time soon, but it's something I’ve been genuinely interested in doing for four or five years now, and the whole Anne Pro 2 thing brought it back up in my mind. What I really want to do is the exact opposite of what other companies are doing, like having boards that come in full size, tenkeyless, and 60%, ergonomic designs, DVORAC, etc...

And see about maybe doing projects with companies like Energus for like wireless gaming controllers that you needn’t set down to charge.

As well as super whacky things like an entirely separate board that’s a 1x10 bar of mechanical switch macros that you can put ABOVE your keyboard, or off to the side vertically, or mount under a display or under your desk even. Or a keyboard that is also a storage device. How would you feel about 128GB of storage in your keyboard? Might be useful for tablets... 

How about keyboards that can remember five or more custom color settings no matter what device you’re on and have dozens more custom settings saved on your computer? How about we sell devices that have drivers and five color options ALREADY INSTALLED for plug and play capability AND SOFTWARE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS RELIABLY (I’m looking at you Anne Pro). 

What about a whole variety of design? I’m talking everything from retro to classic to modern to sci-fi futuristic to minimalist. How about mouse mats that come in more than two sizes? Wrist rests for your 60% boards? Designer mouse bungees anyone? How about we make products available in black, white, and grey ON TOP of our company theme colors or other random colors??

How about braille keycap options, or keycaps that have alternating textures? What about modernizing the look of a trakball mouse, or bringing back angled and vertical mice that only Logi seems to make anymore? What about Left-handed keyboards and mice? 

How about budget options that don’t compromise on reliability? They might not be prettiest or have the best switches, but they should fucking WORK.

What about keyboard build kits with swappable switches and mix and match components? HOW ABOUT PUCHASABLE MODELS THAT LET YOU 3D PRINT YOUR OWN PARTS for said keyboard build kits?

What about Open-source projects? Here are the 3D models and drivers for a prototype mouse we’ve decided not to put into production. I mean, we’re not going to make any money off of it anyway, what good is it to us hogging the design when there might be someone out there who actually likes it?
