When Drift becomes a single Mom he panics and he knows like one person he might be able to trust so this sad wet cat bpunty hunter tracks down rumors of Ratchet and stalks him finding the Autobot base but more importantly Ratchet. He waits for the other bots to leave and breaks in because he may not be a Decepticon anymore he still doesn't exactly want to roll up to the Prime but he figures he can case Ratchet especially if he shows the kids.

Cue the Autobots returning to find a single mom sleeping in Ratchet's bed with twins, and he is not explaining. They live here now.
