A Maverick in Hiding
Fandom: Rainbow Six
Description: Maverick being found in Kabul

As the dust settles along the tiny mechanic shop, Erik took it as a sign to return to the slums of Kabul, his home.
As Erik moves in fluid motions through the backstreets of Kabul, the feeling of being watched haunted the back of Erik’s neck. The paranoia settled into Erik’s senses, all movement stopped. The shift head turned to scout the area around him, however, there was nothing, not even a shift in the sand below him.
Even though it seemed as if nothing was there, the feeling in Erik’s stomach did not settle. With this uneasy feeling, the usual route changed to the longer and more populated streets of Kabul, in order to lose the prying eyes.
Once Erik lost the feeling of being watched, the trek home continued. As Erik trudged along the sand roads, Erik’s thoughts started to invade his mindscape. His past and his present haunt his every move. The old Erik Thorn has been two years since Erik Thorn has been declared as M.I.A. The current Erik Thorn has been 2 years of being a fly on the wall in a foreign land, trying to take down the rising insurgency group.
When Erik entered the meek home, there was a shift in air, as if something was lurking in the shadows. Gun raised, Erik cleared the rooms, one by one but nothing was there, just the eerie silence. Erik relaxed somewhat and moved the living room.
“You know, for someone who doesn’t want to be found, you are awful at hiding” The foreign accent ripped through the air.
This abrupt noise led to Erik lifting his gun and aiming at the intruder. There he saw a figure sitting in the dark. Erik approaches the silhouette, gun still pointed at the stranger. As he got closer, Erik could distinguish that the stranger was wearing a balaclava and some form of tactical gear.
“Who are you and who sent you?” Erik demanded to the shadow in the room
“If it makes you feel better I am not part of the insurgency Thorn. I am actually here to get some information and I need your help.” The shadow responded, while stepping into the light.
The glimpse of red and white on the stranger’s shoulder, allowed Erik to determine the nationality of the intruder as Danish.
“You expect me to help you, yet you couldn’t even tell me your name.” Erik questioned the dane.
“The name is Nøkk. A Lieutenant in the Royal Danish Army. That is all you need to know, Erik Thorn. So are you going to help me?”
“So what is the plan, Lieutenant?” Erik stated as he sat at the dining table.

Braise x Maverick ?? I'm curious about them <3
I kinda like the idea 👀
So at first, of course, I can’t help but see the ten year age gap between them, which might be a bit difficult to work with, at first.
I can see them being both reluctant to approach each other, wondering if they’d find something that both connects them.
Maverick has a lot of knowledge of foreigners and has lived a lot of difficult things which kind of makes him an inspiration for Braise. From afar, she wonders if she could ever hear his tales about everything he lived back in Afghanistan. The things he learned, the obstacles he’s been through. Braise is very curious about him.
What I do like about them is Maverick’s “sarcastic” nature that you can clearly hear in his voice line, despite what he’s been through he seems to have positively grown from it. Braise is certainly attracted to outgoing personalities. She’d easily get a good laugh of his jokes and really enjoys sarcasm, as well, so why not?
They’d probably get a good look at each other when Maverick is rambling about stories and she joins the other operators that are listening, then they’d both stay hours after everyone’s left, Braise always eager to learn more and more about him.
I can see Maverick trying to learn about Braise but her always diverging towards his own life since it’s the only mystery she wants to know about- and him playfully forcing her to at least pitch out some informations about her past before he continues to speak about whatever region and beautiful landscape he was talking about.
I can see Maverick finding ways to be affectionate in public without attracting people’s eyes, and physically needy when it comes to privacy hdksjjd
I feel like both respect boundaries and enjoys the privacy. I see nothing but the outmost respect between the two of them, so it would definitely work!

Erik admired your aloofness and to be honest, he wished he was a bit like you.
C = Comfort (How would he help you if you weren’t feeling good?)
Erik would just have you come and hold onto him in silence, occasionally smothering you in kisses if he wasn’t too busy.
D = Dreams (How often does he picture his future with you?)
Erik’s only ever pictured his future with you whenever he was curious about what it’d be like to live with you.

Erik takes a pretty equal to submissive role in your relationship, letting you instead help him better.

The only secrets Erik really hides from you is what other things he did while in Kabul. If they messed him up, despite knowing what he signed up for, he knew damn well they’d mess you up more.

Erik has honestly changed you in a way actually. He’s spoken to you about a plethora of things, opening your eyes to new ideas.
J = Jealousy (Does he get jealous easy? How does he deal with it?)
Erik doesn’t get jealous easily, as he is very trusting of you and how you act with anyone other than him.
K = Kiss (Is he a good kisser? What was the first kiss you two had like?)
Erik is a pretty okay kisser. The first one the two of you had was a spur of the moment thing, and the two of you quickly apologized after it happened.
L = Love Confession (How did he confess to you?)
When Erik truly realized he had feelings for you, despite his mildly anti-social habits, he made sure to tell you in a bit of a complicated way.

When Erik’s in love, he doesn’t make it too obvious. But he does talk about how much he loves you, often praising you for what you do for him.

The only way Erik is upfront about your relationship is when he deems it’s the right time to do so.
Q = Quirk (Random trait he has that’s good for a relationship.)
Erik believes his wide-spanning intelligence is a trait that’s good in a relationship. He sees that informing you of things you want to know is something that should be done between partners more often.
R = Romance (How romantic is he? What would he do to make you happy? Is he cliché or creative?)
Erik’s a bit of a cliché romantic in the aspect that he’ll probably take you on some fun date that you see in the media you consume almost all the time.
S = Support (Is he helping you achieve your goals? Does he believe in them?)
Erik does his best to support your goals, as there should always be something or someone rooting for you.
T = Thrill (Does he need to try new things to spice up your relationship? Does he stick to a routine?)
Erik only tries out new things whenever you suggest it, making sure to set some boundaries first just in case.

Erik definitely understands you very well. Though he’s a bit of a hard rock to crack, you and him communicate pretty well.

Erik would like to say that your relationship means a good deal to him, and he cared about you a lot.
