I made Orko a Jedi
Tumblr media
What would the MOTU universe be like if it were in the rules of the Star Wars universe? If Eternia would be another planet in the vast Star Wars universe?
I would say great! I also imagined that all the magical beings in MOTU would be hypersensitive to the force so… here I made Orko!
Trolla would be a hidden world, even for the galactic empire, all trollans like Yoda's species would be sensitive to the force
I can imagine Orko as a Jedi knight who fell to Eternia and saved Adam, then taking Sorceress as a support "Master jedi"
I imagine that Orko would be a Jar'Kai user although I can't figure out which user form to fight with his lightsaber! give me ideas!
I would have a yellow lightsaber and a gold one.
The yellow lightsaber would mean: Wisdom and knowledge. Yellow lightsabers are associated with Jedi who specialize in unraveling the secrets of the Force and represent a deep understanding and knowledge. Loyalty. Jedi Temple Guards used to wield yellow lightsabers; Thus, this color represents their steadfast devotion to the Jedi cause.
And also a golden lightsaber as the shortest: The Gold Lightsaber is one of the rarest Lightsabers to ever be seen. It is similar to the Yellow Lightsaber because of its similar color shine of the blade, but the blade is a bit darker and as a result, resembles more of a gold color. It represents a Jedi that is very strong in light side skills. The Jedi would need to have incredible strength in Lightsaber combat and Force skills. It is extremely rare to find the Kyber crystal of it or a user. In legends, the only user of this lightsaber is Jedi master Qu Rahn. When Master Yoda bestowed the rank of Jedi Master he was given a gold lightsaber. Wielders of a gold lightsaber do what is right to resolve any conflict, no matter what.

The Clone Wars have begun.
The Separatist Alliance has declared war on the Galactic Republic.
Worlds near the boarder of the Mid Rim and Outer Rim  have come under siege by Droid forces leaving half of the Republic's Clone Battalions and their Jedi Generals to assist.
The 501st and 212th have been assigned to the planet Aegis with their Generals one of them is a long newly appointed Jedi Knight.
His name is Anakin Skywalker.
Aegis
ADF Staging Area
Rail Station
The Train car was riddled with Troops from the Aegis Defense Force. The troops wore protective armor reinforced on the torso, shoulders, shins and reinforced Faulds. Each of them carried blasters, repeaters, scatterguns, imploders, sentries, grenade, whatever weapon they had in their arsenal.
One the train’s passengers was asleep. His head leaned on his right shoulder lightly holding a pendant he had with him.
“I feel the wind wash over my face. A cool breeze that almost might have gave me chills but didn’t. I see two people. At least I think I do. Hard to tell from the light. The two people who were a man and a woman held hands. The woman held a sort of necklace in the hand that grasp the hand of a man with dirty blond hair. I couldn’t see more of who they were due to the light which came closer and closer. Why the Kriff was it coming closer? I halfway almost blinded me then I was on some of battlefield. It was a little bit muddy probably due to rain. I see wreckage of some walkers some were CIS in origin. Then I saw the sky raining fire… no not fire… it was bits of a ship maybe. I couldn’t tell. Then I heard mumbling from somebody behind me. I turned to find out who it was talking then suddenly I was in a room with a window a big one at that overlooked a cityscape. At the window was a table. Something was on it was covered by a cloth. I reached out to uncover what was underneath the cloth until I heard a voice”.
“Intriguing”.
“I then heard the sound of a blade perhaps coming out of a scabbard the other sound was of something of an ignition sound and I saw in a reflection a red blade meaning a lightsaber but ones that were used by someone who was of the so-called Dark Side. I quickly turned to see a curved metal vibro weapon about to slash at me then all of a sudden a hand grab my left shoulder and someone with a familiar voice I knew said my name”.
“Thaddus”.
Thaddus jolted awake from his dream or maybe nightmare to see the face of his old friend, Draphe Tenin.
“Draphe”, Thaddus said groggily, “W..What’s up”, Thaddus rubbed his head making his hair it a little disheveled.
“I was coming from the front to see if you were okay”, Draphe said offering a water canteen to Thaddus.
Thaddus took the canteen and drank some water then gave it back. “You could have woke me up at a good time”, Thaddus then offered Draphe a hand getting up due to still trying to wake up. Draphe obliged and helped him up.
Acclamator-class Cruiser Noble
The Noble held in orbit over the Republic and Aegis Defense staging area on Aegis. The hangar was riddled with empty V-19 Torrent fighters, LAAT's, LAAT carriers, CR-20 Troop Carriers, and 1 gold Delta-8 Jedi starfighter one of which was being worked on. The man had wore a dark brown and medium beige tunic wear and boots of a Jedi with plastered with a weathered reddish gray symbol of their Order on the goldish copper vambrace on his left arm. He wore welding and maintenance goggles and one glove on his left hand, right hand covered by a black and armored glove with three buckles that covered the dark red sleeve of his gi. He held the Fusion Cutter steady fixing the wiring as the modifications connected into place. The man took of the goggles and protective mask laying them on the top hull of his fighter showing his face bearing a scar over the right side of his right eye then brushed his short long reddish brown blonde hair back a little. "So Artoo what do you think", Anakin Skywalker said to his astromech droid, friend and longtime companion R2-D2.
Artoo chirped and beeped in binary to his friend, "dwroo woo beep wrow". Anakin chuckled, "You think it looks good doesn't it", he asked Artoo, "dweet woo", Artoo chirped. "Let's hope it is", Anakin replied. Anakin put platting back onto his fighter then heard footsteps behind him. He sensed the presence of his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
“How did you know I was here”, Anakin asked. “Sometimes you leave quite the trail even with maintenance tools”, Obi-Wan answered. Anakin got up from the small cylindrical crate stretching his arms a bit then turned to face his mentor and old friend. “We were just finishing up on some modifications to her”, Anakin pats his right hand on his starfighter, “I got up early to work on her before we arrived”, Anakin said. “Ever the tinkerer as always”, Obi-Wan complemented, “Qui-Gon talked about it even when we arrived to Coruscant all those years ago”. Anakin looks down sadly. “I wish he was here”, Anakin said then Obi-Wan placed his hand on his left shoulder. “He would still be proud of you and how you have progressed. Even though he is gone”. Anakin turns to look at him then lightly smiles.
“Attention all hands we are now landing! Prepare for deployment”, the officer on the intercom blared out.
ADF Rail Station
Thaddus prepared all of his gear. Pistol, rifle, grenades, thermal detonators and imploders, pipe bombs, armor, Macrobinoculars and flares. After all was set he picked up his pendant opening up to activate a portable holo projector to illuminate a picture of him, his sister Arilla, His parents, Aunt and Uncle, and his grandmother and grandfather. Thaddus looked at his sister in the picture hoping she’s doing alright. Even now since she’s been going out with a boyfriend she wouldn’t tell him about because it would ruin the surprise. Still he was proud of her. Thaddus closes the pendant and puts it back around his neck then jolted up to hearing people and troops shouting “look” and “whoa”. Thaddus then walked to the entrance with Draphe already there.
“What's going on", Thaddus asked Draphe, “I think you should come see", Draphe answerd.
Thaddus looked out to see in awe five Acclamator-class assault ships landing at the staging area.
"Command called them in I think", Draphe said, "They've been coming in since dawn".
The Acclamators lowered their boarding ramps pouring out Clone Troopers, AT-TEs, and dropships all of them marching in a row.
Tumblr media
Like Thaddus was at the rail station, Anakin and Obi-Wan along with Artoo stood in the entryway of the hangar door watching as they prepared for the coming storm.

Qu Rahn was a Human Jedi Master who survived the Great Jedi Purge. He was taught the secret of joining the Force after death by Yoda, who gave him the important quest to free Jedi spirits from the Valley of the Jedi, long-lost on Ruusan. After recieving a vision of his capture and death at the hands of the Emperor’s Inquisitors, Rahn traveled to Sulon to prepare Morgan Katarn for his son’s eventual training as a Jedi. Following his death, Rahn appeared as a Force ghost to Kyle Katarn and was instrumental in his Jedi training.

So, here’s something a little bit different:
Up front, let me just say that for all of its problems, I really love the Star Wars fan community. There are exceptionally few groups of people in the world, who would see a prop design in a very old, somewhat obscure video game(s), and think so highly of it, that they would dedicate the time and money necessary to manifest that object in the real world. Twice.
For those who don’t know, the sabers pictured here are both used by Kyle Katarn (among others) in the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight video game series. The green saber (although in the cut scene where we first see it being used it has a yellow blade, hence why I opted to attach yellow LED’s on the sound board but I digress) originally belonged to the Jedi Master Qu Rahn, a friend of Kyle’s father, Morgan Katarn. The blue saber was Kyle’s own, constructed by him, for use as a member of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Praxeum, and was the saber that he would carry until the end of his life.
I can go on and on about the lore surrounding these sabers, but the main takeaway is that these exist, in the real world. That, even after so many years in this community, has to be just the coolest thing imaginable.
Never change, you wonderfully weird group of nerds. ❤

Finn’s Parentage Theories: Legends Edition
Clockwise from upper-middle-right.
Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian
Luke and Lando raise a child together, either adopted or through a surrogate. When Kylo destroys the temple, Luke and Lando are devastated when they think their child is killed in the fire. However, all children are brainwashed and recruited by the First Order.
Pros: Uses a fan-favorite ship from Legends, largely thanks to the Marvel Comics. Would give Luke and Lando both a temporary happy ending and a good reason to resign to depression for a while. The timeline would add up and it would give potentially sweet scenes for Finn, Lando, and Luke in Episode IX.
Cons: Would be really depressing. Unlikely for Disney to have an onscreen gay relationship not played for laughs or cheap diversity credit. Would cause some people to view it as Skywalker=naturally good, even though Finn wouldn’t be his biological son.
Nick Rostu
A Force-sensitive warrior from Haruun Kal, Nick Rostu was young at the end of the Clone Wars, but seemed to be about Luke’s age when they met. Regardless, in this universe, Knights of Ren took children while posing as Jedi Knights. Rostu, remembering his friends Mace and Depa, let them, believing their lies that it was for medical purposes. The adults were knocked out, and the Force-sensitive children were stolen to make an elite squad of stormtroopers.
Pros: Allows a Star Wars culture only seen in books to join the screens. Would allow Finn to have a big, loving community to return to as well. Nick’s fighting style is also unique, being a sniper trickster.
Cons: Would come out of nowhere for fans outside of the EU. The timeline wouldn’t add up well. A white director could easily default on stereotypes when designing a culture of jungle-dwellers.
Qu Rahn
Qu Rahn was a young survivor of Order 66, and lived into the early years of the New Republic. With a bit of time displacement, we could change his noble end to be at the hand of Snoke, and his defense of Finn is similar to his defense of Kyle Katarn.
Pros: Would fit with Finn being based off from Kyle Katarn. Adds a connection to one of the most popular EU stories. Would be a way for Finn to get his own lightsaber.
Cons: Could anger Dark Forces fans. Wouldn’t allow closure for Finn’s arc.
Giddean Danu
As one of the signers of the Delegation of 2000, and a founder of the Rebellion, perhaps the Senator of Kuat was imprisoned in a secret Imperial jail, along with his family. His son and his son’s wife had a child after the death of the Emperor, but the Imperial Remnant led by Rae Sloane kept them in captivity and took all Rebellion children to be First Order grunts.
Pros: Reference to the prequels. Allows a new surge of Resistance allies. Some resemblance between Christopher Kirby and John Boyega. Has ties to the Space-Prince Finn theory.
Cons: Would be a bit of a surprise. It’s unlikely Palpatine would take prisoners from the delegation instead of killing them.
Novoc Vevut
In Legends, Novoc adopted and raised the boy who would go on to marry Boba Fett’s grandfather. This version would be biological father to one of the stolen Mandalorian children that he and the new Mandalore Boba Fett have been seeking. Novoc would also have his adopted son Ghes Orade, who would act like a big brother for Finn.
Pros: Similarity to both Mandalorian Finn theory and LJ-writes-verse Sequel Trilogy. Provide a plot-based excuse to bring in Mandalorians and Boba Fett. Would be suitably epic without contradicting previous material.
Cons: Always have to deal with the “Boba should be dead” crowd. Morrison and Logan are both a bit too young to play old Boba (but makeup would fix that). Would raise the question of “where were these guys in the last two movies?”
Barney
One of Luke’s earliest Jedi apprentices, despite not having any real demonstrable Force powers, Barney is a humble, kind man from Marvel comics. He lived on Belderone, a world where AT-AT’s were built, making it a target for First Order raiders. After his home was raided, he has been working any job to pursue any lead as to where his son might be.
Pros: Barney is both sweet and determined, and would be a likable addition. Would also be poor enough to explain a lack of Galactic presence in previous films. Also provide a cute moment for Rey and Finn when she talks about living in an AT-AT, and Finn’s dad makes an instant connection.
Cons: Is named Barney, which is reminiscent of a certain purple dinosaur. Might not reasonably find Finn on his own power. Likable but potentially devoid of conflict once he reunites with his son.
Akanah Norand Goss Pell
Akanah was an ex of Luke’s, and a member of the Fallanassi, a religious organization that thought of the Force as a river known as the White Current, flowing and rippling. Akanah was absorbed into the entity Abeloth, aka Mother of Mortis, and died. However, what if when Abeloth was defeated, she and her avatars transferred to a different timeline rather than a different time period? Akanah, revived, and driven mad by the process, is unable to keep her newborn son in safety.
Pros: Bridge the old and new timelines. Provide a set-up for a potentially grand tenth movie. Add some mystery to an otherwise straightforward saga.
Cons: Somewhat depressing. Akanah would be a bit too old to have a child (but it is sci-fi). Would derail the main conflict of the sequel trilogy.
Katya M’buele
Katya was a friend of Han’s before the Battle of Yavin. In Legends, she died helping Luke fight demons in Marvel’s comics, but this version could live past the battle and become a Rebel Hero like Kes and Shara. She would be in the Resistance, as a slightly older woman, running smuggling and transport operations, always looking for her son that went missing at a young age.
Pros: Ties to the Resistance strengthened. Could appear as a young woman in a Solo sequel. Would not derail the conflict.
Cons: Underwhelming reveal. Ultimately too serendipitous to happen naturally (but there is the Force.) Not a very popular character.
Those are just some theories to rebut the idea that nobody’s thinking of some potential parentages for Finn! I might do a canon one, if this goes over well. My favorite is Luke/Lando, but I think Novoc would make for the best story. (Moth)

A summary of the Star Wars: Dark Forces series
-Notes=
0.1 = I apologise about being late this week (not that anyone waits on me), I decided to go and get my own images for this article, only for it to take longer than I remembered. I was up until 4 AM playing Jedi Academy.
0.2 = I am fully aware and being open about that some of this piece is basically the same as in a previous article. I found that I was trying to put too much into the previous article and decided to write this one, reusing a few bits and pieces. Most of this is new though, so please give it a read.
Tumblr media
I grew up playing Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast on the GameCube, the only game of the series that I had access to and I spent years craving the opportunity to play the sequel Jedi Academy. I played my favourite missions again and again; playing with and without cheats and played multi-player (against the computer) for hours at a time. I still remember convincing my friend to play with me, only for him to win using cheap exploits. He won, but I don’t think it was fun for either of us.
Tumblr media
-above: multiplayer
I was so obsessed that I would devour whatever information I could find on the next game, and I believe this was before Let’s Plays on YouTube were a big thing. I learned that you could design a character AND a lightsaber; could you tick ANY more of my boxes? I even downloaded a PC demo to, well let’s be honest here, fail at. It would be a long time before I started playing games on PC and that may be due to my experience with this demo. I knew enough about this game that I could call out a braggard at school; you know the type, that guy who has played everything you want to play and is cooler than you until you realise that he doesn’t know jack-all about what he’s talking about.
When I finally started playing games on PC, I discovered that I had access to this series; in fact I think Jedi Academy was the deciding factor on why I started doing so. I found that the early games were too clumsy for a casual gamer like myself to play, although I was able to finish, and then cheat my way to different lightsabers and realistic dismemberment, that game from my childhood dreams. I love the series so much, and particularly the main character, that I have decided to take the time to write this. I intend for this to be a summary of the series rather than a review and is totally, one-hundred percent for fun; for me and hopefully those who read it.
The first game was released in 1995 was a clone of Doom which had come out two years earlier, and the final game came out in 2003 so you can imagine the sort of thing that I am talking about.
Tumblr media
-above: graphics from the first and final games of the series
Despite being called the “Jedi Knight” series, that title only appeared from the second game onwards, which makes sense considering the first game was, as I said, a Doom shoot-‘em-up clone; it was only in the second game that the protagonist begins down the path of the Force. Speaking of whom, the series follows the character Kyle Katarn, an ex-Imperial officer who was betrayed by the Empire over the circumstances of his father’s death and became a mercenary with ties to the Rebel Alliance. Katarn and his games are not currently canon (by which I mean an official part of the Star Wars story) thanks to 2016’s Rogue One, given that the very first mission of the very first game is to steal the Death Star’s plans. Before the new entries to the Star Wars universe plodded over and trampled down what was the Extended Universe and is now referred to as Legends, Katarn was popular enough to appear in literature, graphic novels, role playing games and the video game Lethal Alliance.
Tumblr media
-above: Kyle Katarn in his first appearance
Bringing my wayward thoughts back on track, the first game (Star Wars: Dark Forces) involved a very, boring Katarn shooting his way through his given mission of stopping the Empire’s Dark Trooper project, all of which is set to happen after the first movie. Thankfully Katarn improves as a character (personality-wise AND physically) as the series does. The game is separated into different missions, each with its own objective and usually on a different planet to the last. There isn’t much of a story outside of how the main goal is accomplished, with no real character dynamics or establishing of their backgrounds.
Tumblr media
-above: the PlayStation cover for the game
The second game is called “Star Wars” with the subtitle “Jedi Knight” and… a second subtitle? I don’t get how this works but the game is known by the second subtitle “Dark Forces II” and I personally wouldnt mind if the entire series was called Dark Forces which sounds badass; plus Dark Forces: Jedi Outcast is far less clumsy than Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast, but hey. Getting, again, back on track, Dark Forces II was released in 1997, two years after the first.
The developers attempted to use live-action cutscenes to tell the story, bringing about an adorably quaint feeling through bad acting and even worse CGI. Katarn’s actor, Jason Court, was a major improvement on his design which would stick around for the rest of the series (in cases like this I always have to wonder what the actor thinks of the later representation of the character, if he cares at all).
Tumblr media
-above: Jason Court as Kyle Katarn
The story of Dark Forces II, set after the Battle of Endor, followed the pursuit of the Dark Jedi Jerec who is attempting to become the leader of a new Empire and who was revealed to be the killer of Kyle’s father. In a cutscene, Jerec kills Jedi Qu Rahn whose disembodied voice talks Kyle through the training needed to become a Jedi and who provides advice throughout the game, particularly before a boss fight. It is also Rahn’s green lightsaber that Kyle uses, and is his first out of three over the series. The rest of the story is pretty simple as Katarn chases down Jerec, all the way to a place called The Valley of the Jedi where a Force user can gain immense strength. The most interesting part of the story is how there are two endings: the Light side and the Dark side endings.
Tumblr media
-above: Kyle with Qu Rahn’s lightsaber
The Light side ending is the canon (technically correct) ending where Katarn’s actions earn respect from one antagonist and whose yellow lightsaber becomes yours after Rahn’s is destroyed, and Katarn uses it to kill Jerec in the Valley. He eventually becomes a Jedi and trains with Luke Skywalker, although this isn’t established in-game. The Dark side ending has Katarn kill Jan Ors, the token love interest, and the voice of Qu Rahn stops talking completely, having abandoned you just as you did the Light side, and after killing Jerec, Kyle fulfils his goal for him, becoming the new Emperor with Jerec’s female companion alongside him, all the while retaining Qu Rahn’s green lightsaber.
Tumblr media
-above left to right: The Light side and Dark side endings
There was an expansion pack named “Mysteries of the Sith”, where the player got the chance to play as Mara Jade (who has quite a presence in Legends) and fight Kyle who fell to the Dark side. Set five years after Dark Forces II, Kyle has become a Jedi Master and is still using the yellow lightsaber he gained while fighting Jerec. During his time as a Jedi, and clearly after this game, Katarn builds his own lightsaber, putting aside the yellow one in favour of this new blue one with a much cooler hilt (although if you’ll entertain me, I’d like to say I’d prefer that he kept the yellow blade after changing the hilt as I feel that blue lightsabers kinda oversaturate the Star Wars universe; either establish blue as the colour of the Jedi or mix things up to keep it interesting, please).
At some point before the third game, Jedi Outcast, Kyle’s fear of the Dark side is exacerbated by actually falling to it, and he separates himself from the Force and the Order, leaving his new lightsaber with Luke. During Jedi Outcast he returns to the Force when Jan Ors is kidnapped by Dark Jedi Desann (there are so many of these buggers), retrieving his lightsaber and relearning his powers. This game is a landmark in the series for the development of the unique and super-fun lightsaber combat system.
Tumblr media
This combat system made use of the agility of the Jedi, leaping off of walls, somersaulting and wall running to get the upper hand in fights and the fights themselves can either really drag on, leaving the player with stiff hands, or end in a single strike, depending on a combination of skill and chance. This method of fighting earned the game a Lot of praise and is largely considered to be the best lightsaber combat system of all time and was expanded on in the next game, Jedi Academy, where dual wielding and double-ended lightsabers were added, each with their own styles.
Tumblr media
-above: mid-way through the game you can choose a new style
On top of this there were options to cheat, allowing the player to decapitate and dismember their opponents (or themselves should they lose in a fight) and thanks to these cheats, Jedi Academy gave players the opportunity to pick up dead opponent’s lightsabers and use them; this allows the player to switch between single, double and duel sided lightsabers depending on what enemies they face. It’s so incredibly cool that one has to wonder why it wasn’t a part of the game already, especially as they can be unlocked with a code in the console (I don’t understand this well enough to explain, but it's basically accessing what’s already in the game).
Tumblr media
-above: a red lightsaber taken from dispatched enemy (not shown)
By the end of Jedi Outcast, Kyle has returned to the order and is an instructor during the events of Jedi Academy, the final game in the series. As Jedi Academy did really well upon release, yet it followed so soon after Jedi Outcast that some apparently considered it to be little more than an expansion and I assume there was some amount of Dark Forces exhaustion which may be why no further games were made. There may be other reasons, but they are not important for the purposes of this piece.
Dark Forces IV: Jedi Academy (see how it flows so much better when you don’t say “Jedi” twice?) no longer directly follows Kyle, but instead follows Jaden Korr, a character whose species, sex and overall appearance are designed by the character, although there does seem to be a canon design as the character is mentioned elsewhere. This could be considered disappointing, but neither species nor sex affects the story in any way so it is debatable whether or not this matters. I believe that I mentioned this in an earlier article but the customisation options are limited and, in some cases, kinda weird. Clothes are specific to species and sex, while not all races have both genders even if that has been established; for example you can only play as a female Twi'lek. I assume there is a reason for these choices, although the clothes limitation seems a bit odd and, should we ever be lucky enough to have this game remade, I’d hope that future editions expand on the options. (I’d like male Twi’leks and a Togruta species, plus outfits that aren’t limited to species).
Tumblr media
-above: Togruta female Ahsoka Tano from the Clone Wars cartoon
The same applies to the lightsaber customisation. The player is understandably limited to three types of lightsaber: a single blade, two blades or a double-ended saber, but the blade colours are limited and the hilt has to be chosen from a pre-made select few. With today’s technology it should be no problem to expand these options. I have rambled on a lot about customisation as I always find it to be a favourite part of any game, but I’ll get back on track now.
The story of Jedi Academy follows Jaden Korr, fellow disciple Rosh Penin (an absolute tool) and their master Kyle Katarn. While Kyle is technically training these two, Jaden is usually alone in their missions. Rosh slides to the Dark side as Jaden uncovers a plot to steal Force energy from particularly powerful places (what the hell even is the Force anyway? I might write a thought piece about that sometime). We discover that the perpetrator is a character who Kyle let live from the last game and Jaden can lean into either the Light or Dark side for a different ending, just like Dark Forces II, but the Dark side ending (also non-canon) pits Jaden against Kyle in a final battle.
Tumblr media
-above: failing the final battle against Kyle (I did this a lot)
I don’t know how to conclude what is meant to be a simple summary of a series and doing so is probably made harder by the fact that I’ve already written about it from the point of view of how it could be remade.
The Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces series is an amazing product unfortunately limited by its time. Of course I wouldn’t want it delayed to be made later as the same people wouldn’t be working on it with the same goals and intent; it simply wouldn’t be the same series.

Maw is one of Inquisitor Jerec's Dark Jedi from the video game Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. He is cut in half at the waist in the opening cutscene by Jedi Master Qu Rahn. Maw managed to adapt to his handicap by mastering Force Flight, turning him into what Jensaarai1 of YouTube called "the Amazing Flying Torso". Maw was defeated by Kyle Katarn on Ruusan, where he goaded Kyle into killing him by giving explicit details on how Jerec killed his father.
Interesting. If this Maw didn’t fall down a reactor shaft after being cut in half and received immediate medical attention, there’s some small possibility he could have made it. I guess the real reason he survived is videogame logic.
I doubt there was a hospital on the bottom of that reactor shaft on Naboo.

Preview of Star Wars The Clone Wars: The Pre-Christophsis Adventures - The Aegis Conflict - Chapter I
Aegis
ADF Staging Area
Thaddus, Draphe, and the rest of the ADF troops gathered in formation then stood at ease near the major’s briefing tent outside the complex of the staging area overlooking and observing the Clone battalions forming up 19 feet away from them. That was until they heard one of a fellow ADF officer one that bore a scar slashed over his mouth cleaning his long knife Out in the open to the view of 2 clones. Their armor was shiny and unlike some of the other clones that were weathered and dirty their expressions of being almost less experienced. almost unlike the simulations they were trained in on the water planet, Kamino meaning this was their first deployment suggesting that these guys were how the clones would put it “shinies” rookie clones with less experience.
“It is good to kill with something like this. Like carving a great roast”, The ADF with scar said, “Or a rabid Kell Dragon.”, he added then exclaimed with the knife jump scaring the two clones laughing like in triumph. “Quiet Down!”, Thaddus yelled to the scarred officer. The two clone rookies took their blasters and helmets and prepared to walk to a more discreet location away from the Officer with the scar. “Are you his commanding officer?”, the second clone rookie said to Thaddus. “Acting commanding officer.”, Thaddus answered. “Acting?”, The first clone rookie said with a light laugh then Thaddus gave the two rookie clones the stern look then they stopped laughing. “Well… in any case I hope you keep an eye on him.”, The first rookie Clone said then Thaddus nods. “Troopers.”, The voice of a clone said, “You two are needed in the complex for cargo duty”. “oh great.”, The first Rookie trooper muttered. “What was that?”, the trooper asked, “Uh… Yes sir! Commander! Sir!”, the first rookie clone said. “That’s what I thought.”, the clone commander said then turned to face Thaddus. The clone Commander‘s armor wasn’t as different to the other clones’ armor but it was modified a bit on the shoulders with an antenna on his left shoulder another on his helmet with a visor with a small at the front of it and a lamp on the left of it the armor was painted with orange lines even on the helmet. The orange paint similar to that of the 212th. ”So you’re a Lieutenant Commander?”, Commander Cody asked Thaddus checking the rank on his uniform, “Yes sir.”, Thaddus answered. “A lieutenant commander in charge of a small defense battalion?”, Cody asked, “Yes sir”, Thaddus answered. “Where are your commanders for your battalion?” Cody asked, “Dead sir”, Thaddus answered. “Lieutenants and corporals”, Cody asked him once again, “Dead sir. They along with the commanders of our battalion along with the other half was killed in the southeast flats. It was a surprise attack”, Thaddus answered. Cody looked down and took a short exhale then looked back at Thaddus. “Who’s in charge now with what’s left”, Cody asked one more time. Thaddus took a deep breath and liked back at the clone commander. “I am”, Thaddus responded.

The Dark Jedi bent low, breath hot on Rahn’s face. Beneath his sneer flashed a row of bone-colored teeth. He licked his lips eagerly. The man at his feet had made him wait a very long time for this. He could afford to savor the moment.
Rahn broke the silence, “Why hesitate? Strike me down.”
Jerec reveled in the fearlessness in his voice. Such heroism, such unflappable Jedi virtue. It was nostalgic.
“In time, Rahn.” he whispered, “First, I need something from you.”
He straightened, cape flowing beneath him. The rest of the Dark Jedi stood in a loose circle around their kneeling captive. Their many and varied emotions averaged out to a nervous excitement that permeated the bridge of the Vengeance. Heat, sweat, and pride rose off Maw and the others that had captured Rahn. The deserter’s late companion was face-down next to him and stank of burnt flesh. Nobody paid him any attention.
Sharply, Jerec sniffed the air. There was the smell of violence again. He exhaled. Inhaled. He reached out with his feelings: vicious and predatory. A bolt of fear flashed within Rahn, and disappointment rang like silent thunder. How unfortunate, he had still believed this whole chase was about retribution. Delicious.
Rahn winced, looking away from the human that loomed above him, shrouded in dark robes and polished black armor. His thin leather blindfold and the sharp tattoos at the corners of his mouth stood out against his pale skin, which stretched and rippled as he continued to breathe. The first spine of thought pierced Rahn’s mind. A single phrase, foreign and unbidden, echoed: Where is the valley?
