Malcolm seemed almost panicked at not hearing his father’s voice after he escaped and that is just so fascinating!
He wasn’t relieved...
For one, it may mean that he’s gotten so used to the voice that it’s unsettling to suddenly be confronted with that silence. It would be like someone having lived their entire life with anxiety and suddenly to have that constant strain on your system abruptly stop. You’d think there would be relief but no, it can feel like your strings have been cut and you have no way to move in any direction. And that is especially significant for Malcolm since he desperately needs to hear his father right now so he can pick a direction to move!
And to have that constant tether suddenly cut would be more than ungrounding. It’s like it stripped his confidence away. He was left doubting his own ability as a profiler without his father’s guidance! So much of his mind is intertwined with Martin and it must be so terrifying for him to even consider what life would be like without that constant presence (good or bad). And that may very well lead Malcolm to making some seriously risky decisions to get Martin securely back into that cell.
And two, why now? It’s as if this phantom!Martin existed within the trappings of the prison cell and without that framework, the delusion crumpled. Really interesting!
I’m so curious to see how this all plays out! Bravo PSon! Well done!

A few thoughts on tonight’s Prodigal Son episode, mainly regarding Brightwell ｡✪ ᴗ ✪｡ (I don’t do these but whatever, here we go):
• that kiss.... you can very clearly tell Malcolm has wanted to kiss Dani for sO long
•like they KISSED
• speaking of which, it felt out of timing tbh. If it wasn’t meant to be a romantic kiss but more of a desperation one (bc those happen), well done writers
•don’t get me wrong, I think Brightwell would be a good couple. I’m not disparaging that at all. However, Malcolm is no where near a solid mental stateI to be in a relationship, and I don’t think Dani is looking for one.
•heat of the moment? Yes. Desperation? I could see it. Romantic? Nope. Do I want to see them talk about it and sort out what it meant? Absolutely.
•I guess I just wish there would have been more buildup between those two throughout the seasons but if this really is the last season, then I’m not complaining
•I hope Dani comes forth with her feelings in the last ep bc we’ve seen plenty of Malcolm feels, but none of Dani’s
•like she finds out that Martin took Malcolm and then Gil says she can’t be on the case anymore bc she’s “too emotionally involved,” but she does it anyway (lol pulling a Malcolm)
•Dani taking Malcom’s shaky hand🥺
•I would have loved to watch Dani see Malcolm being all whumpy. Like the IV line in his arm, being strapped down, the tears....all of it
•and then she frees him but he’s too weak to go anywhere so they just hug and wait for an ambulance to arrive and then she would take care of him and make him stay home until they found Martin.
•I think that would be cute
OTHER THOUGHTS
•Jessica was gonna tell GIL.
•girl, Vivian did not threaten you with anything, just tell Gil what she said!!!!!!!!
•the lack of Edrisa this episode was alarming.
•where is our favorite dead-body-and-Malcolm-obsessed girl?
•Vivian Capshaw is a full-blown psychopath

•I can’t wait to see her be interrogated
•Martin going blonde ????????? Mm no thanks
