𝑳𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒚 & 𝑵𝒊𝒂𝒎𝒉 𝑲𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒚
Though from different backgrounds, Niamh and Primrose quickly clicked; their strenght of character, leadership and being the future heads of their houses, alongside their love for adventure and be more than society's expectations gave them was what brought them so close, turning into lost sisters.
Though Niamh was adamant on not marrying just yet and Primrose had a small wish with a mix of obligation to marry early and bear an heir, that hardly interfered with their friendship, and Niamh adored visiting her children, whom she considered her nephew and nieces. Alexandra would become her goddaughter and was proud of the poised, intelligent, self-sufficient, witty and incredible woman she gladly helped her friend raise, and was naturally front line on her wedding and birth of her children.
Both women could've never guessed they'd get along so well: Niamh was a farmer and Catholic, and Primrose was a noblewoman and Protestant, though she did not go often to church and instead focused on dull paperwork. Primrose treated Niamh like her younger sister and was generous towards her, inviting her and her family over to Winbourne, giving her clothes that no longer fitted or liked, gave her jewelry she didn't like but Niamh would appreciate – to the point that she wore the gorgeous pearl necklace with her initial and the blue amethyst hairpins to her wedding, where Prim naturally was Maid of Honour – shared secrets, braided each other's hairs, pranked others and tried their best to enjoy their youth.
These two friends loved each other very much, and their children and grandchildren would grow up together, the families becoming friends and helping each other in future altercates.

Niamh let out a slow sigh as she moved carefully onto the ice. Perhaps this wasn’t the best time to learn ice skating, but there was something fascinating about it. She stumbled onto the ice and her arms flew out to steady herself. Many others were skating around her, the majority appeared to be a lot more competent at skating than she was, but they had probably had opportunities too. While there was a pond nearby Niamh’s family’s farm, it belonged to the estate of a Protestant lord who hated trespassers and had been trying to buy the farm from her father for years.
It didn’t take long for Niamh to understand the mechanics of ice skating, but doing it was a different story. Her balance wavered more than once, but thankfully, she only fell twice and she was comforted by the fact that many of the others fell as well. Ice skating was surprisingly enjoyable, though, even as the wind nipped at her nose and the tips of her ears.

It happened in slow-motion, Simon’s feet slid out from beneath him as he lost his footing, and he went crashing hard down onto the ice. His right elbow took the brunt of the impact and as the pain radiated from the joint, Simon swore. A few eyes darted towards him, but none were truly within earshot. But he knew that he would be in a lot of pain later and that it would be better to get ahead of the pain at least. Which also meant that he needed to inquire about hydrogen peroxide or gelatin or one of the other treatments that the physicians had recommended over the years.
Letting out a slow breath and lumbering into a standing position, Simon skated towards the other end of the pond. He sat down on the snow and removed his skates carefully.
“You alright there, Wex?” a friend’s voice called.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I just need to go take care of some things,” Simon replied, offering his friend a small, slightly forced, smile.
“Well, I’ll see you later today, then.”
“Yep, I best be off now. If anyone inquires, I have gone back to the house.”
Letting out a sigh, Simon began trudging back towards the house.

Leaning against a tree with his sketchbook in one hand and a piece of charcoal in the other, William set about capturing the scene in front of him. It wasn’t the lake, where many people were skating and laughing. It wasn’t the people sleighing either, as they cut paths through the freshly fallen snow. It was the fir trees, with the undisturbed snow landing clinging to the needles. There was a great beauty in simplicity that had coaxed his sketchbook and muse out of its hiding spot.
“Wow, I haven’t seen that in a while,” a voice called and William spun around to see Prim walking towards him, having abandoned the crowds to check in on another guest.
William shrugged. “Guess it didn’t want to work until now. The snow must have done the trick.”
“How are you enjoying yourself?”
“I’m fine, Prim. I just needed a few moments to myself.”
“Alright, but I need to go check in with some of the staff. Apparently, the earl of Wexford has some unusual requests.”
“Well, I won’t keep you. I imagine he has a reason.”
“He probably does, but apparently his requests have freaked out the staff.”

Perhaps bringing a book on a sleigh ride was not the smartest thing, but Minerva was behind on her pleasure reading and she was determined to finish Jane Eyre by the end of the weekend. And, she had never been that fond of winter activities that were outdoors. The only exception was when she and her siblings, and once upon a time, her father, had gone out to find a Christmas tree. However, Minerva had acquiesced to the good manners her mother had taught her and agreed to spend at least an hour participating in the host’s planned event.
But, as the sleigh hit a rut, Minerva’s loose grip on her book caused it to go flying out of her hand and land a few feet away in the snow. She sighed and went to get out of the sleigh.
“Here, Minnie,” a familiar (and slightly vexing) voice said, holding the book out to her.
“Thank you,” Minerva said, taking the book from him. “I still don’t like when you call me Minnie.”
“Edmund calls you that.”
“Edmund is my brother, Demiurgos. It’s in his description to be annoying. Why do you think I call him Ned?”
“Min. I’m not here to argue.”

Winbourne village. The young lady grew up with everything handed to her and many rules of polite society: she’d marry someone of rank that she found pleasing enough and carry on being a Viscountess on her 20th birthday, after her debut in the London Season.
However, life at court was shallow and lonely, and most of the time she found herself bored without her best and only friend Prince Henry of Alderly and the daughters of the tennats. Her life changed when her Hogwarts letter came, thing that overjoyed Lord Gray greatly.

The diamond of the Season at the time, she was a muggleborn lady, only surviving daughter of the Viscount Somserset after her older brother George was killed in the wars against liberalism. Smart, witty and resourceful, and one of the most desired women of England, at the age of 11 her Hogwarts letter came, shocking everyone in the family. What made the Viscount send her there was the fact that new Duke of Buckingham had an ultimatum over the viscount and the safest option was to send Victoria to Hogwarts and not only she survived there, she thrived, excelling at Potions and History of Magic. She was sorted into Ravenclaw
On her sixth year she started courting the infamous Vincent Gray, a half-blood boy who had gained fame by the tragedy of his family, and they were engaged months later. They married on the summer of 1879. Soon after the wedding night, Victoria found herself pregnant, but she miscarried it. In 1880, determined to have a child at least, she fell pregnant again and gave birth to her daughter, Primrose Sabrina Gray on the 15th of 1881, a day after the birth of the Duke of Alderly’s son, Prince Henry. In 1882, 1884 y 1888 she fell pregnant again, but all of them miscarried and the doctor forbid her to conceive any child again. This saddened her, but knew that above her dream of a family as big as the Queen’s, was her babygirl’s wellbeing.
Father: Vincent Joseph Gray
The only son of Demelza Gray and Ernst Gray, he grew up being the apple of his parent’s eyes, and while they were not rich, they lived a comfortable life. His father was a muggleborn and his mother was a pureblood. He was sorted into Slytherin and was known for being a potential Curse-Breaker, and that seemed to be his path when he met Lady Victoria Somerset, and he fell instantly for her. Though it was difficult due to his fame as a rake. A few months later he proposed to her and married her on summer 1879, and soon he found out he was about to be a father; however, Victoria miscarried the baby, which drew them both to a depression, but Victoria did not give up on having a child together, and soon in 1881 his only child, his daughter Primrose Sabrina Gray was born, and she turned into his favourite person in the world, his babygirl. In 1882, 1884 & 1888 the couple tried for a second child at least, but they all ended up in two miscarriages and a stillborn son, which made the family doctor to forbid the Viscountess to conceive any other child and the couple focused on their daughter.

Malcolm was the future Earl of Harrendale, and thus knew Lady Gray from infancy, though they wouldn’t connect until their time at Hogwarts. For the start, they moved in different circles. Though the moment their peers mixed, the got closer and soon started to interact more... to the point where they slowly fell in love with the other, though they thought the other didn’t reciprocate and Primrose was the one to propose a marriage of convenience: she had gained power in both their worlds and he was of high rank and with the S28 on his side.
Soon, during the engagement, volumes of yearning and pining over the other couldn’t be missed, and Malcolm was an anchor to her when her mother died in 1899. In 1900 they married, and they grew anxious over what came next.
During their wedding night, Primrose was the one to ask if he had any fondness for her so this marriage could work, which resulted in them sharing those three words and the night was a success, producing in Primrose being pregnant with their first child, a son, Vincent Alexander Somerset. It was agreed that Primrose and Malcolm would still have their maid and bachelor’s name, but their children would have her name and his own, though only in paper so one of their children would be able to legally clame Harrendale. Their house was then Somerset-Burke and Stolberg.
Years passed and the Viscountess gave birth to a child every two years, and as the children came, the more the love and affection for the other grew. Though in 1914, the Great War, that would pass to history as World War One, erupted and Malcolm was soon called to the lines. He bid his family a teary goodbye.
But life at the trench was unbearable, with the hunger, cold and boredom taking over him. In 1916, the Viscountess, resolved in making sure her husband made it back alive from this gruelling and long war, visited him and the visit resulted in a night of passion, restoring his faith and goodwill of coming back home no matter what.
However, three months later, a letter from his son came: the Viscountess was with child again, and while overjoyed, he was preocupied with his wife: she had an advanced age of 36 and many late mothers went through a traumatic experience during childbirth and not many survived. He instructed that his dear sister Estelle made sure that the mother and child survived, hiring the best midwife and accocheur in Europe. A will was also written just in case.
The 10th of September, 1917, a daughter, Gia, was born. It was said that the lady wept throughout the ordeal and swearing to never forget the cruelty of not allowing her dear husband to meet his child. In 1918 the war ended and the soldiers returned before Christmastime and Malcolm swore to never fight again and instead raise his children.
Both of them lived a happy and fulfilled life until her death in 1868 at the old age of 87. Malcolm mourned greatly his heroic and magnificient wife, and the most elaborate and expensive tomb of the entirety of Winbourne was raised. She was the most cried viscountess of all time.
Mr. William Devlin ( @unfortunate-arrow ) ex-fiancé
Her arrangement with Lord Paul Carlisle was settled before she even knew who the boy was. When she was ten, she met the infamous ward while he was sketching on the barn. The two of them talked for a bit and exchanged some wisdom regarding art.
Things got more serious when they found out they attended Hogwarts and were in the same house. Primrose’s mother encouraged her to spend time getting to know her fiancé and try to make the engagement work, and she dutifully did, though her tries were in vain, for she seemed to develop romantic feelings for everybody but him. She vowed though to have some private rendezvous at his knowledge to protect both their reputations.
On their sixth year, she found out he had fallen for Josephine Edwards through some sketches and wistful stares. She cornered him and asked her if his love for her was true, and he said yes. Not soon after, William discovered her own affections towards Lord Stolberg-Burke and made her the same question. They both overheard their fathers discuss when it’d be best for William to propose in a ball where everybody, including Queen Victoria and the Princess of Wales would attend, and knew they had to break the engagement.
After some weeks of paperwork and discussions, the engagement was off with the promise of having an ally in Parliament and business, and both remained good friends for the rest of their lives.

Prim and Nadia first met during their third year at Hogwarts. Nadia just recently came from Beauxbatons and the two of them bonded over many things and soon became friends. They declared themselves lost sisters and swore to never part from the other. They were each other’s Maids of Honour, godmothers of their firstborn children and most trusted confidante.

Primrose and William first met each other during a gathering in the Great Hall, where every social climber wanted to woo the lady, but none of the gifts impressed her, and he teased her about it. Soon, she found out she was in his year and house, and bonded over many things, especially in the Common Room and History of Magic class, where Prim would take over as a teacher when Binns dozed off in his chair.
William soon declared her another honorary sister and both of them visited each other over the years, remaining good friends and close to each other.

Primrose and Hnery met each other due to their mothers being good friends at court, both of them bonding over the loneliness of being part of the aristocracy and having led lonely lives, and of course, being part of a magical world. Prim was a pilar to Henry’s knowledge of the Wizarding World and their friendship got only stronger.

Primrose and Niamh met on Primrose’s second year and Niamh’s first, both bonding over many things and becoming drommates, and found in each other a sister. The Kellys adored Prim and the Grays appeciated Niamh very much.

Elian and Primrose did not start off with the right foot. To Primrose, he represented everything she resented and was dating her best friend, Prince Henry. The hatred moved to Elian irritating her to no end, until Henry begged her to give him the benefit of the doubt. She accepted for the love she bore her friend and soon began to warm up to him. What made her fond of him, though, was that she reminded him of his late mother and after he rescued her from a fire after a mission, became good friends.
He’d accompany her in their shared grief over Henry and soon he was the one to arrange her funeral and mourned her greatly. Throughout the years, he’d make sure her family was safe and away from harm’s way and remembered her fondly.

Primrose did not know of the young marchioness existence up until she found out she sought the hand of her dear friend Henry. She soon took her under her wing and sponsored her, and the pair grew close, becoming surrogate sisters-in-law. The moment she married Henry, after Primrose’s clever training and talking her up to the Alderlies and picturing her as the most suitable future Duchess of Alderly, Cora always sought Primrose’s advice and though they fought for hiding the truth behind Henry seeking a wife, they soon were back on each other’s graces and resolved it with Primrose’s most beautiful daughter Jocelyn being betrothed to Cora’s son. They remained good friends until their deaths.

Rivals: Lord Archibald
Lord Archibald is the kind of nobleman Primrose despises: narcissistic, entitled, spoiled and pompous. The fact that he has taken a fancy for her since she turned 15 while he was 23 doesn’t help her case. However, she cannot seem to be rid of him, for he and her father have important business together regarding their neighboring estates. Indeed, the duchy of Buckingham and viscounty Winbourne are about a day’s ride from there. It is not until she marries Lord Stolberg-Burke that he takes the hint that she will never marry a man like himself, for he had been violent towards her and had been infamous for accosting young ladies and rope them into barely legal marriages so he could lay with them.
When she rejected him, he was so enraged he imprisoned her staff and sent a letter to Primrose threatening to burn it to the ground and take her aunt, the Viscountess Alina hostage and marry her by any means if she didn’t come to Winbourne to marry him herself and surrender Winbourne to the grounds of Buckingham, merging both historic estates.
Primrose instead challenged him to a duel: if she won, he’d leave England and never come near her family again, and if he did, she’d accept his terms. She won the duel, humiliating him and banishing him in shame. The people saw her as a hero and she gave her famous speech from the top of the hill in which Winbourne had been built during the Anglo-Saxon Britain, which made her powerful and popular within England and many European monarchies.
They’d cross paths agains during WW2 where his son, born of a Nazi woman, bombed her daughter and husband’s estate, Harrendale. The family vowed to make him pay for it and was executed in Nuremberg and the estate passed to someone else. The new duke didn’t dare to come near the Somersets ever again.
Mandy Parkinson (school rival)
Mandy was the complete opposite of Primrose: she was entitled, proud, a pureblood supremacist, a bully and overzealous, she got on the lady’s nerves by flirting with her male friends like Henry of Alderly, her future husband and even her fiancé. She always reminded her that she was a ‘mutt’, a ‘half-breed and would die as one’ and that Mandy was superior because of her blood purity.
Things escalated to the point of Primrose breaking Mandy’s nose in a fight. Mandy no longer accosted the lady and went on to marry young. They did not cross paths until their thirties, where both women, grown and far more mature than before, buried the hatchet and agreed to support each other politically.
Trivia
Primrose knows several languages, between them Greek, Latin, Danish, German, Arabic, Portuuese, Spanish and Gallic.
She’s a multitalented musician: she can play the viola, violin, pianoforte, flute and lire.
She also knows how to sing and has a mermaid-like voice, thing that attracted many men.
During her engagement with William, she honed her drawing skills
