i finished my first piece of actual knitted clothing!!!!

#ive made tons of scarves and hats but #this is my first like. Full item #its a modified version of the 'downtown cardigan' u can Google it if ur interested #i made it a whole lot smaller and cropped and i shortened the sleeves #i also removed a lot of the sleeve flair #the yarn is premier serenity chunky yarn in the color 'pristine'#i used 5 of them plus one more for seaming and stuff but i still have the majority of that one left #it was very simple to do #but if u hate seaming like me then thats tedious #but anyway #!!!!!!! its finished #also. it is very small. it is for my 4'9 friend #it is not for me djdjdj #mine #knitting #cardigan

i wanna knit another shawl. but i dont have any yarn for that and i dont wanna buy any more. >:(

#i really wanna make a cotton version of the alpaca shawl i knit earlier this year bc its soooooo lovely #but a little warm for the summer #its like PERFECT for a chilly spring/fall day but its too warm for summer #and i love the fit and the stitches so much i wanna remake it in cotton or bamboo or something.#not acrylic.#im so over acrylic these days.#just sick of it.#no more 100% acrylic for me if i can help it. blends are ok.#ok well that is a lie actually i really like the premier antipilling every day dk yarn for hats.#its good #but im not getting unfamiliar acrylics online. ill feel em in person or i wont buy em at all.

people are like 'oh folks that dont like red heart super saver yarn just havent updated their opinions in years' i mean. i get you i guess. i have some rhss blankets my aunt made me ages ago and theyre definitely worse quality than the stuff ive gotten within the last 5 years. but i have gotten new, from a retail store, modern red heart in the last 5 years and im still not impressed. ive felt better acrylics for comparable prices (Caron simply soft, for example)

and i think they updated their yarn again recently, bc my last project with red heart (where i was trying to use up all i had left cuz i had decided i didnt wanna buy red heart anymore) i ran out of yarn close to the end and had to buy more, and it was a different texture entirely. but ive also been to a store since and the red heart on the shelves DIDNT feel like that, so i dunno. either way, just not the brand for me.

i dont buy Caron anymore either but thats because it does NOT agree with my ball winder and always turns into a 7 or 8 hour detangling session, even if i try winding from a brand new unopened skein. Something about the twist i guess. (and ive tried winding it both directions. both turn into tangles.) but the texture of it was pretty nice.

I found that red heart pilled a lot after a wash and dry and that Caron split a lot while i was working with it. But at the end of the day if i had to buy one of them again id go caron, every time. every time.

#i mostly just use premier's everyday antipilling dk now as far as acrylic goes #bc i basically just use it for hats and i like the hats it makes #found a winning pattern/yarn combo and i intend to stick with it #i already have another hat planned #but i dont have any brand loyalty premier's other yarns do not especially interest me #i like working with the everyday dk and might try their worsted one day should i ever need acrylic worsted weight #but that day has yet to come.#i find it quite nice tho.#ive only hand washed it once or twice so i cant speak properly to the antipilling #but it is soft and smooth (red heart is kind of fuzzy in a way i dislike)#and doesnt tangle when i wind it into a center pull ball #doesnt split a ton when knitting (havent tried crochet though and that tends to be where the issues lie)

Stony Shore Pullover by Evelyn and Peter Crochet

Easy to follow and minimal finishing. Aside from the ribbing, it comes together quick. Sizing only goes to XS so had to make some guesses for the kids jumpers.

Magic Kaito: Police Soirée now Remastered!

So Magic Kaito took its premier pas, and it was good. Readers applauded, a few letters came in, and the writer-editor pipeline was all fired up for the next one. No sophomore slump this, it would have everything that made the first one great: action, intrigue, lore, laughs, all wrapped around the latest offerings of one M. Scorsese.

That story was "Hustler vs. Magician", and it got as far as a whole-ass manuscript before someone in Shonen Sunday's chain of command went "Nope. Not feeling it. Try again, kid."

A weaker man might've broke. A weaker man might've went "Fuck this, I hear Jump's looking for people!" Gosho Aoyama was not that man.

And so came this, Kaito's official second adventure, to the stands—about three months after the first. God knows how many all-nighters it took to pull the thing together, but it's hard to argue the results weren't worth it. Read along this charming little yarn, and see if you can tell what new director Gosho's paying homage to!

My yarn order finally came in and I was able to start the plushie for my baby cousin.

I'm honestly impressed with this yarn (Premier Little Bunny). Despite the fact I made this with my own two hands I can't actually tell it's knitted. It's also so fluffy that I used thread to sew on the ears and it's pretty much impossible to see despite being bright white. The fluffiness made it really hard to see what I was doing as I embroidered on the face, but also covers up a lot of the imperfections.

I wanted to finish the hardest part (ie the face shaping/embroidery) so I can make sure all the ends are secure since this is meant for a 6 month old. But I might do it in this order every time from now on, it's incredibly funny to me to just have a disembodied teddy bear head on my desk.

i would like to find a yarn color that is roughly close to this shade of orange:

as the doll is going to be using dark blue eyes and the contrast would look pretty good (ty to my friend for helping me narrow down colors here lol) but well. you would not believe how hard it is to find a more muted light orange. i have been to specialty yarn sites. if i did either of the two multi-colored yarns, it would be for highlights/still mostly orange just with other tones in there :) if u have specific opinions on this please comment bc good god i hate yarn shopping for this.
