Nancy: “Hello?”
Nancy: “NO. I’m not at the office. It’s Sunday. Call me tomorrow.”
Nancy: *deep sigh* “Fine. Talk to me.”
Nancy: “Uh huh. Uh huh. Sure...”
Nancy: “Okay, I should be able to handle that for you. I’ll have something for you next week.”
[unintelligible angry shouting from the other end of the call]
Nancy: “To be completely frank, you’re not giving me much notice on this. Next week is the best I can do.”
[more muffled shouting]
Nancy: *scoffs* “If that’s how you feel. Good luck finding someone to do this within the week.”
Nancy: “...”
Nancy: “...”
Nancy: “...”
Nancy: “I knew you’d come around.” *sly smile* “See, this is why we work so well together Jacques.”
[phone clicks]

Geoffrey: “You could try and be nice to him Nancy.”
Nancy: “He’s interning and taking a single summer class. It’s time management not brain surgery. If Malcolm can’t handle that, I don’t know what that says about the future of my company.”
Geoffrey: “Nonetheless, I’m sure he’s doing his best-”
Nancy: “He could act a little more, I don’t know, enthusiastic about it. I would have jumped at the chance to work with my father at his age.”
Geoffrey: “I know you would have, but remember he’s not you. He’ll find his feet soon.”
Nancy: “I’m beginning to think he won’t.”
Geoffrey: “Give it some time. Maybe having him shadow me for a few days isn’t the worst idea. He’ll see how boring the Newcrest office is and beg to be sent back to you.”
Nancy: [sighs] “You’re a saint Geoffrey. You know that?”
Geoffrey: [chuckles] “No. I simply think we shouldn’t pressure him too much. You saw how that affected Jonathan.”

Nancy: [scoffs] “It’s my day off and we are not having this conversation, again.”
Geoffrey: “Considering the circumstances, I believe it’s appropriate.”
Nancy: “Having standards for this family does not make me a “raging bitch” Geoffrey!”
Geoffrey: “I’ll admit he didn’t handle it tactfully, but Jonathan’s always been a bit... headstrong.”
Nancy: “Stupid and obstinate is more like it.”
Geoffrey: “You used to say that it would make him a good businessman.”
Nancy: “That was before he dropped out of university to pursue whatever the hell he’s doing now.”
Geoffrey: “Yes but-”
[Nancy’s phone starts buzzing]
Geoffrey: “What if you called-”
Nancy: “It’s not my fault he didn’t take me seriously. I told him I’d disown him for dropping out and I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t keep my word.”
Geoffrey: [exasperated] “Nancy he’s our son! You can’t simply cut him out of your life like a bad investor!”
Nancy: “ He barely finished a semester. You’re too soft Geoffrey; you always were the one to spoil the boys. He made his bed, he can lie in it.”
Geoffrey: “...”
[Nancy’s phone continues buzzing]
Geoffrey: “...Are you going to get that?”
Nancy: [irritated] “Yes.”

Nancy: [shaking a glass] “Malcolm sweetie, be a dear and fetch me another drink.”
Malcolm: “I thought you were going to brief me for that meeting with the Board of Housing and Development tomorrow?”
Nancy: “We rescheduled the meeting.”
Malcolm: [panicked] “Why? What happened?”
Nancy: “I’m taking a, what do you kids call it these days, a mental health day. Your father talked me into it. He says I work 8 days a week.”
Malcolm: “Are you serious? I spent this entire weekend reading up on zoning codes in Willow Creek.”
Nancy: “Yes well, I called Bob and now their representative is coming in Friday at 11.
Malcolm: [frustrated] “And you couldn’t have told me this earlier because?? I have an assignment due by 5 tomorrow and I haven't even started it because you insisted I be “adequately prepared” to take notes for you.”
Nancy: “Honestly, how hard can it be? It’s a summer course at SMU. They let everyone in.”
Malcolm: “Regardless, an incomplete assignment is still a zero. Do you want me to fail?”
Nancy: [annoyed] “Fine, take tomorrow off. It’s not like anyone will miss one intern. I’ll tell my assistant you’re shadowing you father, if they even ask.”
Malcolm: [sarcastic] “Great. Thanks.”
Nancy: “Good, now that we’ve settled that, will you go get me that drink now? If it’s not too much trouble I'd like to attempt to enjoy my Sunday. Thank you.”

Cassandra: “They didn’t have any interesting teas so I got you a coffee instead, black.”
Akira: *quietly* “Hm thanks.”
Cassandra: “Watcher, this is ridiculous.” *sighs* “I’m sorry for earlier. I should have told you I’d seen that season already. But can we move on now? I need to be back in Willow Creek in...” *checks watch* “...an hour and a half and I don’t want to leave you brooding over whatever this is.”
Akira: “I’m not brooding, but sure let’s brush this under the rug. Just like everything else.”
Cassandra: “Excuse me?”

Alex: “Nah, she’s just got a ginormous stick up her butt.”
Elsa: *snickers* “More like stick with a D.”
Alex: “Hey that’s my sister you’re talking about... not yours.” *Laughs*
Elsa: *playfully smacks* “OMG.”

Akira: “That’s not the point!”
Cassandra: “Seriously, you’re making this into a bigger deal than it is. Just turn the show back on.” *turns back to her phone*
Akira: “...and you’re back on your phone again.”
Cassandra: *annoyed* “Yeah. I can multitask.”
Akira: “And I don’t want to bore you. Why don’t we go out and do something else instead?”
Cassandra: “I’m telling you I’m fine here.”
Akira: “Okaay. What about after this episode is over?”
Cassandra: *huff* “Sure. After you finish this episode we can go out and do something.”
Akira: “Anything in particular you want to do?”
Cassandra: “I. don’t. know. I’ll look something up.”

Jacques: “We’ll do it for §150k.”
Matteo: “That is absolutely ridiculous Jacques! Have you forgotten who you’re dealing with!? I will not stand for such blatant price gouging!”
Jacques: “No I have not forgotten. Believe me. I offer you a fair, nay, an incredibly reasonable price for such services. One I would only offer to family Matteo. Which reminds me: Giovanni how’s my lovely niece these days? You treating her well over in Old Town?”
Giovanni: “Eh.. She’s fine sir... I mean, we’re fine... happy.” *looks around*
Jacques: “Good to hear. Now Matteo, what do you think?”
Matteo: “ §150 is still absurd. I could ask any simple two bit crook to do this for me. Hell, I bet could even do it myself!”
Jacques: “You could, but then again you’re be paying me for confidentiality... and to ensure that none of this leads back to you. Who else could make you that guarantee?”
Matteo: *grumbles* “Fine. But I’m not paying you a cent more than §110.”
Jacques: “§140 and you have a deal.”
Matteo: “§125. FInal offer.”
Jacques: “132k. You’ve got to be willing to bend my friend.”
Matteo: “Fine. Deal.”
Jacqeus: “Ah. Good. It’s been agreed upon. We’ll set to it immediately.”
Matteo: “As you should. I’m paying you an arm and a leg for this. I expect results.”
Jacques: “And you’ll get nothing less. Now, we’ll see you and the boys ‘round for dinner next week, won’t we?”
Matteo: “Of course. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Alex: *out of breath* “Els. Please. I'm not lying. I can’t go. My parents would ask so many questions.”
Elsa: “Then don’t tell them?.. You think I’m telling mine? Please, please, pleeeease!!”
Alex: “All the more reason for me not to go! They would murder me for taking their “precious baby” out to the Ruins.” *rolls eyes*
Elsa: “That’s an understatement, if I’ve ever heard one.” *laughs*
Alex: “Ex-”
Cassandra: “ALEX. I AM TRYING TO CONCENTRATE RIGHT NOW AND YOUR SCREECHING IS NOT HELPING.”
Alex: “Hey, I don-”
Cassandra: “No. Zip it! Keep it down or get out of the house. I have an audition next week and I need to practice.”

Cassandra: “You honestly want me to answer that? Right now... in public?”
Akira: *quiet* “No. Not really. I’m sorry.”
Cassandra: “It’s fine. I’m sorry too. I didn’t know you felt so... ignored. I should have realized.”
Akira: “Yeah well I didn’t have to bite your head off about it.”
Cassandra: “No you didn’t. And just to be clear, I do care about you. I care about you a lot, but believe it or not my whole life I’ve been widely considered “the nerdy girl”; I’ve still got this crazy fear in my head that I’ll pour my heart out only to have you realize you want someone, idk, “cooler” than me...”
Akira: “Someone willing to “fawn all over me” I believe were your words.” *smiles cautiously*
Cassandra: "...”
Akira: *laughs* “Seriously, where on Earth did you get that idea? Wild.”
Cassandra: *straight faced* “Wait. Is that really a question?”
Akira: “Uh yeah?”
Cassandra: “Okay wow. This is awkward... but you know what, I’m not going there today.” *checks watch once more & sighs* “I’ve got to get going; I’ll see you this weekend, right?”
Akira: “Yeah, sounds good... And hold up, I’ll walk you to the station.”
Cassandra: “I thought you had to get ready for work?”
Akira: “I can spare 10 minutes for you.”

Akira: “Look, I’m not mad about the fact you’ve watched a season of GSBO without me. It’s the fact that you didn’t bother to say anything about it beforehand that I care about. Coupled with the fact that you’ve basically ignored me all afternoon in preference to your phone, I’m feeling a little like an afterthought today.”
Cassandra: “Right. That’s not fair. Just because you might be used to some girls fawning all over your every move doesn’t mean I have to.”
Akira: *incredulous* “What does that even mean? And no, I’m not expecting you to “fawn all over me”; I’m expecting you to actually want to spend time with me, or at least care enough to act like you do.”
Cassandra: *hushed* “I do care about you! Why would you say that?”
Akira: “Hm. Well. I seem to remember me telling you that I love you and you replying with a “thank you” so it kind of feels like you might not care too much about me right now.”
Cassandra: “You were drunk! How do I even know you meant it!”
Akira: “Come on, give me some credit! Even with one too many glasses of nectar in me I’m not out here running around saying that to just anyone.”
Cassandra: “Well...”
Akira: “Well what? I’m sober now, you’re sober now, and my feelings haven’t changed. What’s your excuse going to be this time?”

Max: “BAHAHAHA I’d like to see you try and take me.”
Sebastian: “I eat b*itches like you for breakfast. Dweeb. Try me.”
Max: “LOLOL. I had no idea you were so passionate about eating dudes there Sebby.”

Akira: “I take it you’re not into The Great Simlish Bake Off?”
Cassandra: “Huh? I am. Why?”
Akira: “You’ve been on your phone for the last 20 minutes.”
Cassandra: “Ah. You see Candy and I kind of already binged this season. But don’t worry. It’s a good one. I won’t ruin it for you.”
Akira: *sighs* “You could have mentioned that before we started watching.”
Cassandra: “Well... we sorta did it the other day. I didn’t want to say anything because you seemed so excited.”
Akira: “We could have watched a different season!”
Cassandra: “I’m telling you it’s fine. This is a good one. I don’t want you to skip it just for me.”
