peterick h*destown shower thoughts. thinking about the songbird vs. the rattlesnake/eurydice!pete meeting hades!pete. hades!pete (aka preh!pete) has everything eurydice!pete wants money notoriety and rivieras and for eurydice!pete it's a difficult choice he makes willingly because he loves orpheus!patrick's unending quest to finish the song but he's so lonely! he's tired! he's hungry! but in a meta sort of way, it's a relapse where posth!pete could lose all the things that made him posth!pete and could go back to being what preh!pete was. idk if that makes sense but like. falling into the pattern backwards without even realizing you're relapsing because you are a character and you don't know the story but everyone else knows.

anyways. other additional thoughts include. persephone!patrick flirting with everyone. he's a happy touchy drunk! he likes singing and dancing so he flirts with everyone and hades!pete is totally jealous because patrick never seems to be that outwardly happy with him. he knows that persephone!patrick loves him. he has to. they're married. they promised. but ooooooh that doubt trickles in at the back of his mind until you think that the only thing you can do is try to keep that canary in a pretty cage.

you wanna take me home? / yes / sing the song; orpheus!patrick being a muses son, being touched by the gods. he plays the lyre for when persephone comes up top but he doesn't think of his voice as his main instrument. but then eurydice!pete wants him to sing!!! and so he does and that's how he manages to finish the song because he's put words and voice to the melody he was trying to reshape. just. imagining eurydice!pete falling in love in spite of himself because of orpheus!patrick's singing. and being encouraged by eurydice!pete to finish the song makes it even more devastating when orpheus!patrick finds himself so alone with nothing but his own voice and the belief that he has the golden voice and the songs to fix the world, belief that eurydice!pete had in him, begins to waver until he can't care about grand things like trials by the gods or fix the world back into two. and he has to turn back just to see eurydice!pete with his own eyes.

there literally are so many but these r the first that came to mind bc they live in my brain so deeply and badly:

ok so. four horsemen. in this au that i may or may not write (the winter season is hella busy for me) ive cast the horsemen like so:

conquest: joe. i think this really stemmed from when i read his book and how he felt like he was losing control over the band and how he fought to feel in control. he’s smart; the brains of the operation, the glue guy. he keeps them together in their main mission. since this is a ybc au, their main mission is to find the briefcase. I can’t think of a connection to music for him in a way that makes sense yet

war: patrick. tbh i feel like this is perfect for him. mainly i was thinking about this because of how much he and pete fought preh. also, it fits his role in YBC— there will be enough prior backstory in the fic to see how patrick is the spite that fuels them all, he keeps them going; when the Vixens kidnap him it symbolizes them taking the fight from the horsemen (or the defenders if you’re sticking w the lore). his connection to music in this fic would be sort of like march music— and when he’s turned evil, the music triggering him would be like a call to war.

famine: andy. I haven’t read the Bible but apparently in it, famine is holding a balanced scale, which seems fitting. andy is the backbone, the beating heart that keeps them on course. he’s unnervingly calm and collected, even under pressure. ‘Famine’ can also be interpreted as a culture famine, which I think fits into the narrative specifically when the Vixens torture him and block off his hearing with the noise canceling headphones. by stripping away something that represents a whole lot of himself— idk. I just think it could be interesting

death: pete. I think we saw this one coming. not only is death referred to as the rider of the ‘pale horse’ (ARMA REFERENCE??????) pete has had enough brushes with death for this to make sense. also, war and death go hand in hand, which explains the p2 dynamic in this fic. Im thinking that his connection to music will be hearing funeral dirges whenever one of the 4 die but its not set in stone.

SO. essentially, this fic would be two parts: one would outline HOW the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse / the defenders of the faith found the briefcase. the second would be essentially YBC but. rewritten I guess. anyway it may never come into fruition but even if it doesn’t oh well I still had fun writing the notes
