It’s been a decade since John Carpenter recorded the material that would become Lost Themes, his debut album of non-film music and the opening salvo in one of Hollywood’s great second acts. Those vibrant, synth-driven songs, made in collaboration with his son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies, kickstarted a musical renaissance for the pioneering composer and director. In the years since, Carpenter, Carpenter, and Davies have released close to a dozen musical projects, including a growing library of studio albums and the scores for David Gordon Green’s trilogy of Halloween reboots. With Lost Themes IV: Noir, they’ve struck gold again, this time mining the rich history of the film noir genre for inspiration. Since the first Lost Themes, John has referred to these compositions as “soundtracks for the movies in your mind.” On the fourth installment in the series, those movies are noirs. Like the film genre they were influenced by, what makes these songs “noirish” is sometimes slippery and hard to define, and not merely reducible to a collection of tropes. The scores for the great American noir pictures were largely orchestral, while the Carpenters and Davies work off a sturdy synth-and-guitar backbone. The noir quality, then, is something you understand instinctively when you hear it. “Some of the music is heavy guitar riffs, which is not in old noir films,” Davies notes. “But somehow, it’s connected in an emotional way.” The trio’s free-flowing chemistry means Lost Themes IV: Noir runs like a well-oiled machine—the 1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster from Kiss Me Deadly, perhaps, or the 1958 Plymouth Fury from John’s own Christine. It’s a chemistry that’s helped power one of the most productive stretches of John’s creative life, and Noir proves that it’s nowhere near done yielding brilliant results. “This is who we are, I think,” John summarizes. “Daniel’s the adventurer. He pushes for new sounds, new directions. He tries things that I haven’t thought of. He’s a lot more daring than I am, and he enriches the whole thing. Cody’s the musician. He’s a savant at music. He understands music. We depend on him to rescue us.” And what about John’s contribution? With characteristic understatement, he concludes: “I’m the experience. I’ve done music for movies before.”

Listen/purchase: Trying Times by Serious Nubian
Well, here I am back again with another Podcast complete with a new Poster design. Didn't get much time in the Studio this past week. I had some issues with the car that had to be taken care of so my mind was more focused on that to get the situation sorted. Was'nt much of an issue when I think about but it was a bloody major inconvenience just the same. Only one thing that pisses me off about Canada and makes me miserable and that's the goddam sub-zero temperatures in the winter. Last week it got so goddammed cold that it drained the power from my car battery and I couldn't get my car started. It's never happened before I ''ve had that car for about 5 years now and never had an issue in the previous winters. Had to use public transport and a taxi to get about and was constantly reminded as to why I bought the car in the first place. It's all sorted now and I'm more mindful of the weather conditions in the winter. But now back to the topic of Music. Still working on some brand new tracks in the studio, i did mention that this music will be out in August but now I can't say for sure it might be sooner or later i can't say at present but one thing is that it will be out in 2024. So here are the tracks that are on this current Podcast Episode 1. Makes No Difference (by Marcus Davis / Composer/Producer/Bass/Keyboards/Drum Programming/Vocodor)   2. ꕥ — WELCOME TO CATA COSMIA, JAMES "JIMMY" SMITH. 🌕
Tumblr media
ꕥ  — OOC INFORMATION;
discord id: stjimmysmith name / alias: Payton age: 23 pronouns: they/them ooc contact: bethjohanssen (tumblr) or cospayton (twitter) other characters in xc: parker davis, harley quinn, abby schmidt, tiger
ꕥ  — IC INFORMATION;
name: James “Jimmy” Smith age: 31 pronouns: he/him series: Five Nights at Freddy’s OC canon point: moments before his death
app triggers: drug addiction/overdosing, allusions to college partying and sleeping around, murder, vague body horror
personality: Jimmy is antagonistic, brutally honest, steadfast, and stubborn. He’s a man of few words, but those words can sting. He says what he thinks when he thinks it with no care how it will affect you. Sometimes you need to hear it, but sometimes it’s just downright cruel. He has a soft spot to him, but it’s buried deep down in there. He’s like a porcupine that way, spiky on the outside but get past it and he’s soft and squishy. He’s someone you want on your side, not against you.
something your muse struggles with: Jimmy would rather die than be open with his feelings in a healthy way. He bottles that stuff up so hard and is a big proponent of tough love, but when he gets that soft and mushy type of love it short-circuits him. He’s also ridiculously stubborn and set in his ways, which isn’t something he struggles with as much as those around him do.
your muse’s greatest strength: Jimmy is fiercely and vehemently protective of those he loves and steadfast in his opinions and way of life. His stubbornness can be insufferable, but it also is how he manifests his love for those around him and passion for what he believes in.
history/background: Born and raised in Hurricane, Jimmy Smith had your standard upbringing in a rich not-mormon-but-still-from-Utah-family. Jimmy was a sheltered kid, the youngest of 3, and homeschooled since he was old enough to know. When your cousin gets murdered the same year you’re born your parents get quite protective, you know?
As soon as he hit 18, Jimmy flew the coop to Utah University for his undergraduate, and later bachelor's, in Accounting. In his 5 years at college, Jimmy was responsible, but still able to have fun in the way that college students do. Drinking, sleeping around, etc. and all while still waking up at 6 am to hit the gym before his 9 am econ class.
From his casual attire and muscular physique to his shabby stubble goatee and gauged ears, he doesn’t exactly scream professional businessman. He looks more like the guitarist for a mediocre garage band than someone you would take financial advice from. The thing was though Jimmy was damn good at it.
In a second-year calculus class, he met first-year Mitchie Fitzgerald and by extension her best friend, Parker Davis. All three differed in their ways, but they quickly became inseparable. They bounced around a lot, Jimmy and Mitchie dating for a few months, and Jimmy and Parker living together for a year.
Fiercely protective of Parker, Jimmy realized during this that his feelings were a bit more than just platonic. Not brotherly love but something else. He pushed that deep deep down too, not something he allowed himself to want. Not now... Not ever.
In Parker’s third year, Jimmy’s third, things came to a staggering halt with the sudden loss of Parker’s mother. Parker went downhill quickly, with Jimmy and Mitchie doing what they could. However addiction and bad influences just have their way with people, and Parker was the poster child. November to March were rough months for everyone involved with hopes of recovery around the corner but they were all too hopeful. And it’s always the most hopeful who crash the hardest, right?
Jimmy was lucky to find Parker when he did. The doctors said he had about 10 minutes left before he would’ve passed. If not for the fact that he looked so goddamn helpless in that hospital bed Jimmy would’ve read him his rights. Ripped him a new asshole. Gave him a clip around the ear… but he didn’t. He contained all of that anger, frustration, and fear to work with Parker. Jimmy was by his side through it all, helping him through withdrawal, dropping out of college, and the start of his YouTube channel.
8 years later, it’s 2017 and Parker began work on his homemade, Fazbear-inspired horror attraction. Lovingly named “Fazbear Frights,” Parker brought on Jimmy as the business’s accountant. With his best friends making up his staff, Parker took the extra allocated funds and hired a new security guard. This “Mike Schmidt” instantly set off alarm bells in Jimmy’s mind. Seriously, the guy was purple. Giant gash in the side of his face that showed the inside of his mouth. He instantly gave Jimmy the creeps, and a tense relationship of hatred brewed between the two.
In the weeks following, Parker becomes the first to find out Michael’s real identity. Turns out, that animatronic they found behind the walls of an old Fazbear’s not only was alive, but was famed Fazbear Entertainment CEO William Afton. To make matters worse, “Michael Schmidt” was the unfortunate son of this man, fated to the same “walking corpse” fate as his father before him.
Upon the zombie and the Youtuber telling Jimmy and Mitchie the truth about everything, it goes about as horribly as you expect. Jimmy’s own biases, anger, and frustration come full force in scathing words and almost violence, stopped at the very last moment by the concerned hands of his friends.
One night, after Jimmy finishes his shift at the horror attraction and hands off the reigns to Michael, a fire breaks out. In any other situation it would be suspicious, but the Hurricane Police ruled it “faulty wiring.” Yeah fucking right, Jimmy thought. He knew that fucking zombie had something to do with it, and when the group finds out William Afton didn’t die in the fire? Oh, Jimmy’s got a vengeance and stubbornness in his bones aching to jump out.
One night, saying he was “On his way to hang with Mitchie” Jimmy visits the sight of the frights, coming face to face with the bunnysuit-wearing corpse himself, William Afton. A fight breaks out… A fight Jimmy was wholly and completely unprepared for. Jimmy falls and falls hard.
It’s ironic that his story ends like this… A man so strong and statuesque in how he carries himself left scattered in pieces across ash-covered ground.
powers/abilities: none he’s just some guy inherent abilities: none he’s just some guy
items/weapons:
taser
pocket knife
pocketbook
well-loved copy of American Idiot on CD
a cardboard box of plastic animatronic head shells
starting ability: N/A starting item: taser, pocketbook
extra:
Promise I won't self rp too hard I just need him here
Normal guy who got wrapped up in the FNAF lore but I put his canon point before his fnaf-related death so that he can learn later through RP for #emotional reasons
This one is for Parker, who has been mourning him hard for like 3 months now.
Man full of hatred but we can teach him to be better. or he can just fight everyone

The Stories and Politics of the FBI: With James Comey
COMMENTARY:
The short version is that Michael Steele is the future of the Party of Lincoln, Michael Steele and Mitt Romney are the only Salt Water Republicans left standing. Trump is the Fresh Water economics of Jefferson Davis and the white supremacist agenda of Southern Libertarian Thinking. This Presidential Crises is exactly the objective of William F. Buckley and the consensus of the Ivy League Socialism of the John Birch Society in 1960, when Buckley published his anti-Eisenhower manifesto, the Sharon Statement that launched what has become the Trump campaign. In 1960 the anti-New Deal white supremacist agenda that has evolved into Steve Bannon's and Newt Grigrich's political insurgence coming to the surface. I mean, this goes back to the Think and Grow Rich era of commercial fascism associated with the Harvard MBA program. Other Peoples Money. The Power of Positive Thinking. This is all Presbyterian Cnristian Stewardship of the New Your 400 associated with the Great Gatsby bsed on the Prosperity Gospel of Ivy League Socialism . This is Fresh Water economics  right out of the University of Chicago Zen and the Zen and the Art of  of Motorcycle Maintenance. .The thing to understand about the Trump and the January 6 Republicans is that Dan Sickles was the Tommy Tuberville of Gettysburg. The victory at Yorktown was a result of salt water economics. Appomattox for Pickett's division was the cost of the Freeh Water economics of the white supremacist agenda of Jefferson Davis and South Carolina. Lincoln ran the Union on the basis of the Salt Water economics of the Declaration of Independence.     The legal theory of the Declaration of Independence is based on the Salt Water economics of Lloyd's of London. Michael Steele is the only Republican except Mitt Romney talking the Salt Water Economics of Eisenhower, generally, and Jack Kemp Affirmative action, Jack Kemp was the GOP's Daniel Patrick Moynihan and Michael Steels and Mitt Romney have based their careers on Jack Kemp's Play book. Jcak Kemp is who George F. Will wanted to grow up to be before he settled on the Never=Never Land of the Ivy League Socialism of the editorial board of the National Review. Tucker Carlson is a poster boy for Ivy League Socialism.
