VS Champion Kieran

I finally finished the render of the silhouette I did a while ago, and I am very proud of it! It took me a long time to paint it, but all the time and effort were worth it for this amazing result. This is my favourite painting style. (❁´◡`❁)

Funnily enough, I painted underneath the jacket and then remembered the jacket halfway through rendering the arms. I didn't have to paint them, but I lost myself in the process.

This takes time during Blueberry Academy's story post game, with Kieran reigning at the top. I wanted to capture how terrifying and intimidating Kieran was. We, as the players, never fear Kieran, but I wanted to portray how the students saw him. Looking down at them, with his Hydrapple leering over his shoulder. I knew the second I saw this in my head, I had to bring it to life. It certainly does the art I had imagined more than enough justice.

I will post Hydrapple's render in the near future since they got covered up by Kieran's body. I adore these two.

BT!Kieran may be alone most of the time, but at least he has his team to help him out <3

First time drawing Hydrapple yippee!! Sorry about the weird paper lines; drew this in our school planner lol.

Ramble about the AU and Kieran’s connection to his team below the cut hehehe :>c

Kieran has grown very close with his team due to him pretty much being a Pokémon himself now. Over time he can understand them more and more, and they are able to connect more as a result. This is both good and bad.

On one hand, he’s become so isolated from everyone around him because of the effects of the Toxic Chain that his Pokémon are pretty much the only consistent support he has. He’s always seen them as family, even before this situation started, so they do a good job at it (especially Hydrapple and Furret). His team understands somewhat what’s happening and can help him deal with it. Him being able to actually understand them now (at least somewhat) is a plus.

On the other hand, his only form of support being from Pokémon means that he’s becoming more and more disconnected from humanity in yet another way. Socially, on top of the continuous mental and physical changes he’s going through. It all intermingles as he interacts with his team in increasingly Pokémon-like ways.

WARNING: Hydrapple

The full Hydrapple render I promised from this post!

I had an absolute blast doing the glossy texture of the caramel apple. The whole painting process was super fun, although my favourite parts are definitely the pose and the eyes. They came out so well!

Hydrapple (and the Applin line) very quickly became one of my favourite Pokemon while I worked on this art piece. (I was already fascinated by Hydrapple when I first saw it, but now I adore this creature to the moon! I even caught myself a shiny Applin to evolve it into Hydrapple. Her name is Ichor (❁´◡`❁))
