I spent WAY too long on something that was supposed to be a joke comic based on a Mettaton (Undertale) quote. Anyway, post-Hisui Emmet got stronger legs ;D
And yes! I am currently roughing out the next chapter for Lone Emmet and Cub and it has a lot of action shots so this was a nice practise owo

Decendants au ask: would Emmet and Ingo go full mama bear mode to keep the girls safe??? Meanwhile Elesa makes sure they don't witness the apocalyptic ass beating taking place
Tumblr media
Oh absolutely, they care very deeply about family and will not hesitate to keep them safe!!
I don't really imagine them as the kind to get physical, however the idea just makes me hysterical lmao xD

Mechanical Errors: Interrogation time :)))
If you're a Plasma grunt and you've been cornered by these robots -- good luck, gamer! At most they'll only need to use scare tactics to get answers...
Oh, and yeah -- Emmet would take a worm on a string modified scarf to a serious situation. He WOULD.
---
HI TUMBRL UAUGAIFSDGKINBK I just want to give a reminder that asks and stuff are still open, HOWEVER I will not be checking as frequently as I used to. So, still open -- but responses will be slower! Sorry-
I'll still be posting, but my primary form of contact will either be on Discord or Twitter for now!
Also... I don't know if Tumbrl ate the quality of this one or not. I did add a noise/static effect, but I don't think the website enjoyed that-

I hardcore wish there was a Pokémon fan game hack where you play as a depot agent in BW/BW2. I want there to be a break room and each individual depot agent to have their own personality and different storylines. I want there to be little affection meters for how well you get along with your coworkers. If Emmet likes you enough you unlock an event where he gives you a perfect IV Joltik. I want there to be mini games that has to do with patrolling the tunnels and dealing with unruly passengers.
And there HAS to be plot. Beating up Plasma grunts who tried to take over the station. Being there when Ingo disappears and having to give a statement to the police. You and your coworkers working together to keep Emmet healthy and sane, in which case there are dialogue options that can either help or severely hinder Emmet's mental and physical wellbeing.
It would just be SO COOL to play that. I would never put it down.

So, none of the twins nor Elesa canonically has a dog.. But a dragon works too, right? Ingo, or Emmet in that matter, does not care about Plasma grunts, so savage subway boss time!

Okay so this is completely raw train of thought that I refuse to be embarrassed over.  It also may jump around because it was written on two different days, since I had more Ideas(tm) about it.
Also, Emmet in the distortion world is absolutely influenced by @that1nkyone‘s Distortion Guide AU, tho not lifting anything from where they are taking that story.  Just that their idea of Emmet being in the distortion world definitely inspired my brain to go this way.
This is in my (god damnit I need a title) anti-mob AU
--
How Ingo Disappears
Ingo and Emmet get overwhelmed by some group.  Possibly make it Team Plasma, set during B&W 2 or something.  Or just some splinter group trying to rekindle things.  (Actually maybe when I think this AU out I could figure out how to make team Plasma the mob group.  Hmmmm....)  Either way, and for whatever reason, Ingo and Emmet are tied up while the group tries to do their thing.
(I imagine it's a desperate fight, so the grunts don't have a lot of time to restrain the bros once they got the upper hand.  Just tied their arms behind them (tight, so tight, but not stripping the coats bc again no time).  Normally this would be to their detriment because the twins would get free and wreck shit again.  This time, there wasn't enough time to get free.  Also possibly they were overwhelmed bc they let their guard down/were out of practice, having lived relatively peaceful lives since they became subway masters.  I'll have to see where the story is at the time.)
Whatever the group is doing, Ingo gets his feet under him to try and stop them, and is walloped upside the head in retaliation, concussing and stunning him.  (Emmet is Furious.  Retribution will be had, once he can find out if Ingo is okay.)  So Ingo isn't able to respond to things around them.  And it's tragic that, because all the group wanted was to keep the subway masters out of the way.  They weren't the goal or target of this, just collateral damage.  No, they were summoning (Giratina probably) and just needed enough time to finish that.
And they do.  But Giratina is not subservient to them.  It does not care or agree with their goals.  (What happens with Giratina will be for Emmet to witness.  Whether Giratina harms or kills, or does something else.)  Still, even that isn't the focus.
No, the focus is that as the hole in reality widens, as Giratina forces its way through, Ingo is lying too close to the center.  The hole widens, and Ingo tips, and falls.  (The last thing he sees with his blurry vision is Emmet and Chandelure (figure out a way).  That is why later, all he remembers is the figure in white and the purple flames.)
-
I think in addition to that, Emmet goes after Ingo.  Rather than be left behind, I mean.  He's tied up a ways away, hands bound behind his back, pokemon trapped in their balls in the hands of their captors.  Help won't make it in time ofc.  Emmet sees Ingo fall, helpless to save him, but he can in his anger free himself from whoever is pinning him, and throw himself into the void after Ingo.
(As Ingo vanishes, disappears from this world, as Emmet's soul follows suit, one of the trapped pokeballs /explodes/, destroyed as the pokemon inside frees itself the only way it can.  Chandelure follows Emmet, catching and guiding him in the buffeting void.  Neither see where Ingo went.)
So, I'm thinking the twins were cuffed, just for the idea that Chandelure can help Emmet break the chain between them, but they can't get the metal cuffs off his wrists without hurting him (would hurt his skin trying to melt it off, not strong or precise enough to smash them off, etc).  So Emmet is in the distortion world, searching desperately for Ingo.  Chandelure can barely sense Emmet in the twisting world who is right next to her, let alone find Ingo.
Since there is no day, no night, Emmet searches until he passes out, wakes up and repeats it.  Time is basically meaningless and blends together.  Chandelure guides him to food and makes him eat, but is also searching for Ingo with that desperation of shared souls.
Eventually, Emmet's strength is giving out, despite chandelure trying her best, and his despair is too great.  He lies there, unwilling to move, and begs her to eat his soul, replenish herself and escape.  He's done.  (As when they were kids, pushed so far that death was welcome).
Chandelure not only refuses, but instead tries to feed emmet's soul instead (as when they were kids and they'd rescued her, so did she want them to live).  Emmet knows that if she continues in her weakened state she will die keeping him alive, and he knows if he stays here she will keep trying.  So he does the hardest thing; he gets back up and continues on (without Ingo at his side).
Later when he recounting some of this to Ingo, he does admit that it was the hardest thing in his life.  To get up and move on without Ingo.  (Not giving up on him, just having to go through that without Ingo.  They've been through the toughest times together, and that time they were not).
Not sure on the timing of this, might redo some of arceus so that red sky and volo happen at the same time.  Because like, imagining ingo's troubles…  So the idea is that he's realized Volo is dangerous and going to attack akari, and he's desperate to get to her.  Perhaps he knows they will not be match for him with a god pokemon on his side, perhaps he just can't see victory in a head on confrontation, perhaps he is torn between his duties to his wardenship and his love of akari.  For whatever reason, he's heading to a battle he doesn't know how to win.  If akari will even believe him.  If volo hasn't already attacked her.  Etc etc.
The reason I want the red sky, is it makes a good time for emmet to escape the distortion world.  The veil is weakest, can come through a rift, chandelure senses his soul or emmet catches a glimpse and just throws himself at it, whatever.  But also the red sky would make it so he hasn't even realized he's left the distortion world, at least not entirely.  Because there is still no day, no night, and everything is odd.  (Just has more gravity lol).
Maybe Volo attacked Ingo, leaving him trapped where a distortion was to appear, expecting him to perish there.  Might work.
Regardless, when Emmet and chandelure find Ingo, it's not the tearful reunion either were hoping for.  However Emmet was filled with so much relief, so much joy at finding his brother, that he can put some of his wants on hold because he can tell that Ingo Needs To Do Something.  It's the look they have when they are focused on saving or improving people's lives, as their shadow selves.  They've always put the world in front of their own needs, and this is no exception.
Additionally, emmet is temp mute at this point.  No point in talking, plus going mute due to high emotions.  It take a while for him to start talking again.  (After everything settles, when it's just the two of them, Ingo's memories still muddled but he /knows/ that emmet isn't fine.  Emmet doesn't have to hide from ingo.  They talk through a lot of things, etc.)
Ingo doesn't know what to say either, how to articulate what he's feeling, what he needs.  This was obviously the man in white, and he wanted nothing more than to cling to him, to cry and laugh until all his emotions are drained and peace is left behind.  But…akari.  He /needs/ to help her, to save her from volo's plans.  All he can do is ask for help.
Emmet can sign even if he can't speak, and despite the lack of memories between them, their instincts guide them true.  Thus, Ingo goes to confront Volo head on, and Emmet hides in the shadows ready to take advantage.
-
(Oh man did I never write this down?  Okay, let's see what I remember.)
So I've had the idea that Emmet makes it to Hisui for a while, even if I didn't know how why or when.  I thought I wrote more about it so if this IS duplicate, suffer lol.  Because I wanted to lean into their past of being the "ghost" or whatever I end up calling it, that haunted the mob into destruction.  I don't know for sure if they ever found out there were two people behind the persona.  Either way, Ingo and Emmet have always been able to play that part.
So the confrontation with Volo (Yes he is a true villain this fic), the idea is that Ingo is keeping Volo's attention, while Emmet hides waiting for a chance to strike.  Because that was the mistake so many had made, that Volo made; thinking Ingo was alone.  Sort of line.
...Nope, I don’t remember specifics right now.  Dang.  If I do, I’ll write them down this time.
-
(Ingo has some scars from hisui.  Emmet has scars on his wrists from where the manacles rubbed endlessly.  Chandelure I think has crackled glass now, after pushing so hard trying to save emmet and find ingo.  It's not always obvious, but sometimes.)
(Part of why Ingo is so messed up in hisui is the lack of memory and running on instincts means he keeps crossing his subway master persona with his ghost persona, but he doesn't realize they are two different sides he usually didn't let cross over.  So when his reactions mix, he instinctually know something is very wrong with it.  Sometimes it distracts him, sometimes he disassociates trying to remember, sometimes it frustrates him trying to remember.)
-
Oh idea.  Ingo gets stabbed.  :p  No but seriously, let's say the collection of the plates happens at the same time.  Ingo plays a more active role in assisting akari, always there (frustrating volo who wanted to be the support model, but ingo is there /more/).  Volo needs to get his hands on the plates.  Perhaps Ingo is keeping them safe, but that doesn't jive with Volo getting the drop on him.  Because lets say Volo manages to convince akari he will keep the plates safe.  Maybe she leaves Ingo to "guard" volo or something, or maybe volo goes after ingo to make sure he is out of the way when volo goes to confront akari (weakened after she subdues the second god pokemon).
Either way, volo has command of all the plates, which gives him influence over all pokemon.  He can force wild pokemon to fight for him, can prevent ingo's pokemon from fighting properly (they can only resist so much), and basically volo takes down ingo via cheating.  Ingo is a good enough trainer, and friends with enough wild pokemon that it is close tho.  So close that volo gets close enough to ingo to stab him and take him out that way (somehow just go with it.  Maybe uses a pokemon to do it).
Volo goes off to get akari, who is trying to clear the red sky.  He thinks if he takes her out, arceus will have to listen to his call.  Because he'd have all the plates, have taken out arceus' chosen, would be able to have command over the other two god pokemon to have all three, etc.
Then Emmet and Chandelure come to ingo's rescue.  Chandelure pulling what she can from emmet to give to ingo to heal him, etc.
By giving Volo command over other pokemon via the plates as well as influence over partner pokemon, that makes his threat and the fight way more difficult, rather than a wash it would normally be.  Gives a reason why emmet has to get to volo, to separate him from the plates, in secret.
(A thought, have to see if it fits.  Chandelure and emmet have to get close enough that she can drain volo, while remaining unnoticed.  Emmet strikes when volo goes down on a knee, wondering why his energy is so low.  Slow process, and Ingo (and akari) need to keep volo distracted to not notice.  Volo's partner pokemon still have free will, so they need to keep those engaged to not let him know either.)

@drunkenmantis showed me their earlier Emmet and horde of joltik comic and art and I suddenly remembered the Spiderman comic page where he was summoning spiders!! I had to do a redraw of that comic page it just felt SO fitting for Emmet~ The poor Plasma grunt had no idea what he was dealing with.
Check the comic and art by @drunkenmantis that inspired it all here:

Whether or not you do Emmet as well (with his own share of injuries I assume) for now I imagine once the whole ordeal is over Ingo is getting an earful from Emmet out of anger and worry. (If he gets injured too I also see an scenario where they’re both giving each other an earful to be more careful with themselves.)
They did make sure no one else (except maybe some grunts) got hurt. They paid the price for that. They are mostly happy about that outcome. (Except the other brother getting hurt)
Also I imagine they both get so much to hear from Elesa after that!
SKSK post the battle/when all the plasma grunts are caught and subdued, I can totally see the two of them worrying over the other in unison
Ingo tries chastising Emmet for reckless behavior but it doesn't work because Emmet points out that he literally did the same thing! So there is no problem since we both didn't check safety! :> And Ingo sputtering and trying to go around the hypocrisy sksks
But yup! what's most important is that all the passengers are safe and gear station is secure now! (and perhaps an added bonus is the ever increasing respect and adoration the people of nimbasa have for their subway bosses, which is shown by the tearful thank you's in the post incident interviews)

Hello! Hope your days going well!
Can we get the reader rescuing the submas twins who where kidnapped by Team Plasma? And can you have the reader fighting the grunts with just they're bare hands? No Pokemon just throwing hands and absolutely beating the asses of both grunts and Pokemon. ✨Hisui style✨ hope this makes sense! Lol
Submas x Fighter Reader: Reader gets kidnapped by Team Plasma
Though the twins are expert battlers, you're a little more mundane compared to them.
You really only have a few pokemon, but they're your babies. You battle occasionally but you don't intend to be an expert in it. You have your own career that you enjoy, after having worked hard in school to earn certificates and degrees. (One of them so happens to be a perfect shiny joltik. Emmet wishes you'd train it more so he can battle them.)
Though the twins usually gravitate strong trainers when it came to sharing partners, they do like how gentle and serene you are. You have a very nurturing nature towards them and their pokemon, ensuring everyone's good health and emotional support. You provide the twins with a comfort they longed for years, they are definitely making every best effort possible to ensure this relationship lasts forever.
Since you've been with the twins for a while, you got acquainted with their employees on the battle trains as well. Everyone knows who you are, considering you are technically dating two of Unova's most sought after celebrities. The twins naturally have concerns over your safety and try to insist you take one of their reserve team members with you, for the moments you're away from them. Especially when Team Plasma shows its dirty influence again.
You reassure them that you're fine, giving them both a kiss before you board your next train.
Tumblr media
But eventually, the twins' biggest fear comes true when they hear through the radio that you're being attacked by Team Plasma.
They swiftly ignore their duties as Subway Bosses, boarding the next train that would take them to the station you were heading. Emmet is rambling about how worried he is, about making Team Plasma pay for this, and constantly asking Ingo if he thinks you're alright. Ingo can't say much, not wanting to give a self fulfilling prophecy.
When the train boards, they run. They run as fast as their legs can take them, only to stand baffled by what they saw next.
They saw you physically fighting pokemon. Your slow and gentle nature wasn't seen at all in this moment, as you relentlessly fight your way to victory.
But when the twins comes to their senses, they throw out their own pokemon to join the battle. Yelling at you to come back over to them. But instead you run up to the Team Plasma members and knock them out, one by one, in a single attack.
Ingo and Emmet catch on to what you're doing and swiftly take down their opponent's pokemon, everyone is subdued and swiftly detained. Bystanders cheer in your victories.
When the enemy is taken away by police, Emmet runs up to you and tackle hugs you. He was just so worried! He almost starts crying about how worried he was, clinging onto your body.
Ingo is next to hug you, but quickly takes you to private office space. He tends to your cuts and bruises there.
They ask you how you learned to fight like that. Prior to moving to Unova, it so turns out that you were a former pro cage fighter. Their jaws drop at this. They don't believe you at first. You literally have to show them pictures of you, of who you were five years ago prior to meeting them.
Ingo and Emmet don't know where to begin with you. First they praise you, then lecture you, and then just... they hold you close. They were so worried. They love you so much.
You stay in that moment, your caring nurturing side of you coming out to comfort them. To ease their worries, you agree to training your pokemon and taking one of their reserve members. This relieves them immensely.

Hiya! I hope you don’t mind but I simply must request the happy ending conclusion to reader being kidnapped by team plasma while out with Ingo & Emmet respectively! I would really love to see your take on the twins being badass going on the war path to getting their beloved back from that gang! Emmet was already awesome and half way there with punching some of the guys out at the scene in your original scenario, and to get see reserved Ingo let loose while so determined and angry would be so thrilling to see! Let them see what happens with you mess with the beloveds of the Subway Masters XD Thank you so very much Renee!
hello!! i've been waiting for this request, and i'm excited to take a crack at it!
the first part can be read here!
🍓🍓🍓
Ingo:
Sweat clings to his forehead, chest tight and aching as he gasps for air. The abandoned skyscraper was hardly ten stories, easily swallowed by the surrounding towers of Castelia City, but it was without electricity. All generators ran to machines and lights of rooms hidden away from the boarded up windows. Ingo was hardly halfway up, exhausted alongside his team, but he wouldn't give up.
Not with your safety on the line.
He climbs stairs, using potions and revives on his team to make sure they're ready for what comes next. The trainers grow stronger with each level he climbs, but they're no match for him, even alone. This would be easier with Emmet, he thinks, wiping out teams with relative ease, but getting him would've wasted time.
The moment the police knew where you were being kept, Ingo disappeared, running straight towards the address. He tore the doors off its hinges, and commanded Chandelure to Hypnotize everyone on the first floor, a muted revenge for what was done to him, to you.
Ingo kicks a door down, barely dodging a blast of electricity from an Ampharos. He sends Excadrill to deal with the Pokémon and trainer, instead scanning the area. Shouts bounce around, Plasma members moving in the darkness, illuminated by the Ampharos' moves.
There's a brief glimpse down the hall, a flash of someone carrying another person as they bolt around the corner. Ingo wastes no time recalling his victorious Excadrill and chasing the perpetrator, heart in his throat to think they have you.
Chandelure comes out, her fire a path through the darkness. He dodges Plasma grunt, shouldering them aside. He darts into a nearby office, cleared out besides a few chairs and a table. There stands the Petil wielding grunt that kidnapped you.
"Back off!" He snaps. You lie over his shoulder, squirming in your binds. Ingo can't see your face, but he can see the cuts that litter your bare skin, and his body burns. "Or they get it!"
The grunt holds out a knife. "Protect." Ingo whispers to Chandelure, eyes not leaving the grunt. Klinklang falls out of its Poké Ball. "Gear Grind."
The grunt's knife is met with a wall where your body would be. He jolts, slammed by two gears onto either shoulder. He drops you with a shout, and Ingo throws himself forward, unable to catch you but landing at your side.
He yanks down the cloth covering your mouth, and kisses you. His thumbs ghost your face, falling to where your hands are still tied. It's clumsy, his untying of your ropes, but he's still kissing you. He sobs apologies into your mouth in between tender smooches, fumbling your binds all the while.
The ropes fall away, and you cradle his face with shaky palms. You're dehydrated, starving, pained, tired, but Ingo is here now. Ingo is with you, and you feel safe again.
So you kiss him right back.
Emmet:
He manages to get the location of the new Plasma headquarters from the grunt. They're too frightened of him to hold back any, especially when he releases Galvantula and the rest of his team to convince them. With your location secured, he starts a high powered walk towards the destination, texting Ingo along the way.
Emmet refuses to wait for the police. He doesn’t want you hurt, not after he failed to protect you, so he goes alone to the desert, marching through sand and grit to find you.
He’s a plight upon the small base made in the ruins. Perhaps his electric types don’t work as well, but Emmet didn’t make a name for himself relying on typing advantages. He tears through unprepared grunts, leaving them crying in his wake as he prowls for where they took you.
The moment he hears your scream, he’s tearing down walls to find you.
The door crumbles beneath his foot. The grunt threatening you whips around, only for Emmet’s fist to enter his face.
“Emmet!” You wail, pulling on the restraints that bind you to the chair. You look worse for wear, bruised and shaken, but otherwise unharmed.
Emmet rushes to you, peppering your face with kisses as his Pokémon snip away your bindings. The moment you’re able, you wrap your arms around his neck. Emmet scoops you up, then turns to face the rest of the building. This isn’t the end yet, that he knows, but he has you in his arms again.
Nothing is going to stop him from getting you home, safe and sound. If Plasma thought he was a menace before, they’ve got a whole new storm a-coming.
Emmet kisses you gently on the temple. “I am Emmet. I like winning more than anything else. You are here, with me. I will protect you from these pathetic thieves.”
You smile, then nuzzle into his neck. “Kick their asses, Em.”
Emmet grins, frighteningly wide, and readies to do just that for you.
🍓🍓🍓
Here we are! Sorry it took so long lol
Have a good day!!

Subway boss Emmet x Bug researcher! reader [2/3]
{Afab reader they/them}
Emmet was totally bugging out (yes, pun intended) as he waited eagerly for Y/n to call him back. As soon as he and Ingo figured out what Y/n's egg was the two went the library and checked out books on extinct Unovan Pokémon, They eventually found out that there used to be two types Joltiks!
The common one which was the classic Bug/electric and the second a Fairy/bug type, they lived in Unova about 500 years ago; unfortunately due to It's silks popularity the Fairy Joltik/Galvantulas were soon driven to extinction.
Needless to say, Emmet wanted really meet them! And despite Ingo telling him to wait until morning to call Y/n, the younger of the Trevithick brothers couldn't contain himself and left Y/n a voice message.
He was a foot tapping mess! Constantly looking at his phone waiting for it to ring, and just as Emmet was getting ready for bed his phone finally rang! The double battle boss practically dove onto his bed as he answered his phone. "Hello?" his voice cracked a bit causing Emmet's cheeks turned pink as cleared his throat and tried again. "*Ahem* Hello? " He waited a moment as Y/n's voice nervously greeted him. " E-Emmet? I got your message. " There was a slight pause on Y/n's end as they were more used to texting people rather than talking to people.
"I shouldn't be surprise that you figured it out so quickly. From what I've heard you pretty much increased Unova's Joltik population by like 10%! "
Emmet chuckled nervous as he scratched the back of his head.
"Yeah, I won't deny that that, My breeding got a little out of hand..."
"Heh, a little?"
"Okay, massively outta hand! My brother's always on my case about it."
After pleasantries were exchanged the two bug lovers got straight to the point, Emmet poked his head out of his room waved Ingo over as he was coming up the stairs from the kitchen. The older Trevithick mouth out "Bug professor?" Emmet nodded and put his phone on speaker as his brother took a seat on an old steamer trunk Emmet kept his clothes in.
Emmet asked Y/n how had they managed to revive a breed of Joltik that had long since died out and they were very honest with him. "Well, it started when I found this pink amber out in the woods of the Dream yard." They were a kid at the time and didn't think it was anything special just sparkly piece of fossilized sap.
But they got older Y/n noticed something odd... There was bug in the amber, it kinda looked like Joltik? They were interning at a fossil lab when they started looking into the odd looking Joltik, that when they found out about ancient Pokémon variants... Hearing that Sinnoh used to be abundant with these variant species.
Y/n had traveled there where they found more of these "Variant Ambers" and on a whim they started up their own revival program, from extracting the extinct pokemon's DNA from the Variant Ambers Y/n hopes to fully bring back these ancient and extinct types Pokémon back from the void.
"These Joltik's are my prototypes, I have a lot riding on them." They thanked Emmet again for saving the egg from that team Plasma grunt. "It was really no trouble." Ingo cocked a brow when he noticed his brother was blushing through out the call, a lot! then Emmet remembered what he wanted to ask. "Would it be possible If... I, Me and my brother could see the Joltiks?" There was a long pause as Emmet started panic thinking he scared them off!
He started to fidget and frantically mumbled to Ingo.
"Why did I ask that? I shouldn't have asked that!"
While Ingo kept shushing him and telling his little brother to calm down and wait for Y/n to answer. "Sorry about that, I heard chirping coming from the incubator..." Emmet relaxed as Y/n answered him. " And Yes. You can come see them." Emmet jumped off his bed and started dancing around his room, causing Ingo to shake his head at his brother's antics, Y/n set the twins visitation appointment for the dat after tomorrow  which was the twin's day off, Emmet quickly set the time in his phone and the conductor and Researcher said goodnight.
{Cut to two days later at the Nimbasa Pokémon Research Labs.]
The twins were in awe when they arrived to the labs, their attention was captured by the fossils lining the entrance and the Dragonite skeleton hanging from the ceiling.
The subway bosses made their way to the front desk. They explained who they were and who they were there to see immediately the saw the way the receptionists face contort into a disgusted grimace. The twins could tell right off the bat the woman was rudely wondering why Nimbasa's elite battle masters would want to meet up with some creepy bug fanatic? But, kept her mouth shut unless she wanted to lose her job.
She printed out their visitor passes and called Y/n's intern Hal to come fetch the twins. a few minutes later a boy in his late teens showed up, he was waring a dark purple hoodie under his lab coat, black jeans and a Gengar themed face mask. He was clearly a ghost-type researcher, the twins thought there was a mix-up and the receptionist had logged them into the wrong department, but the boy spoke up. "Y/n sent me, my name is Hal" he gestured for them to follow him.
Ingo and Emmet were reluctant but followed behind the teen after a few moments of silence Emmet spoke up. "So...You're a ghost researcher being mentored by Bug researcher, how did that happen?" Ingo shot his brother a stern look, but Hal didn't seem all that bothered by the question as people have asked it before.
"Simple, bug and ghost types aren't the most popular research field, because of this we tend to intern with someone who majored in multiple fields."
"Multi-Field majors...So, Y/n used to intern under someone with a Ghost-type major?"
"Mm-hmm" Hal nodded as he lead them to the lab door. "Well, actually their mentor had a triple degree in type majors: One in Ghost types, one in Dragons and lastly Bugs." he said as he swiped his ID card through the reader and typed in the door security code.
"That's verrry interesting." Emmet hummed as Ingo nodded along in agreement, the lab door slid open immediately the a blast of cool air greeted the twins causing them to shiver as Hal led them inside. "Sorry for the AC blast, but we need to keep things cool so the lab's computer severs and equipment don't overheat." the boy explained noticing the twins shudder for a moment. "Don't worry about it, we do the same for the Gear Station's command center." Ingo assured as he Emmet looked around the lab immediately they were taken aback at the lack of staff, it seemed to just be Hal and three other interns...
Hal was going to show them to Y/n's office when one of the other interns came up the them and informed Hal that Y/n was in the lab's observation enclosure with their Pokémon, Hal shrugged led the twins to an artificial garden built in the middle of the lab.
Needless to say. Emmet swooned the second he laid eyes on Y/n's Pokémon team, so many buggies! Some he's only read about or seen on tv! There was a Shedinja...Oh so creepy, but so cool! A Frosmoth...those wings so were delicate looking but sooo deadly! Orbeetle...He wandered if it could turn into a UFO? and oh arc! that's an Armaldo...Emmet's been wanting to meet one for years! And then he noticed the little one Y/n was bottle feeding... Okay, That's not a buggo! that's a Tyrunt! Still though another fossil Pokémon Emmet's been wanting to see for a loooong time and it's just little baby!
Oh boy....Emmet was having fan-boy a moment being surrounded by bugs and fossils; he was practically drooling. "Ingo punch me, I must be dreaming..." he sighed in a far off tone as Ingo looked at his brother oddly and corrected him. "You mean pinch me?" Emmet suddenly pinched Ingo in the arm causing his older brother to slap him upside the head. "Ow!" Emmet's pained yelped alerted Y/n and their team to the twins presence.
Armaldo started to growl and step in front of Y/n protectively before his trainer called him off. "It's alright Armaldo, they're friends." The fossil bug sniffed and reluctantly backed-off but not before shooting the twins an 'I'm watching you' glare...and went back to grazing around the enclosure.
Y/n got up from the rock they were sitting on while carefully repositioning their hold on Tyrunt (Newborn Tyrunts are about the size of a Basketball.) as they approached the twins. "Sorry about him, he's wary of strangers...especially around Tyra." the researcher explained while nodding down at the baby fossil Pokémon who was grumbling as Y/n as took the bottle away.
"Hey, don't be grumpy with me missy." The researcher put the Tyrunt down on the ground. "Now go play with your big brother." Tyra looked at Y/n then at Armaldo the little dragon whined defiantly and headbutted Y/n in the legs, the researched winced but held their ground, when Tyra saw she wasn't getting her way she threw a a literal stomping tantrum!
The whole enclosure shook under the baby Pokémon's power as Y/n calmly grabbed the little dragon's Pokéball and let out an authoritative "Hey." the Tyrunt stopped and stared at Y/n startled seeing them holding her Pokéball. "You wanna go in this? cos that's what's gonna happen if you don't calm down." the baby looked at the ball whimpered and went to Armaldo like Y/n had ordered.
The researcher sighed turned back to the concerned twins. "She's being a brat cos I'm starting to weaning her off of formula, as you can see it's a very... forbearing process." The researcher said wincing as they could feel their legs begin to throb from Tyra's headbutt, but soldered through dull the pain.
"No we get it, Ingo went through the same thing with Haxorus, she was one cranky Axew when we stopped bottle feeding her." Emmet said shuddering recalling how Axew used to screech and scratched at things when given Poké-chow instead of formula; their dad (Drayden) had to hide all the bottles cos Ingo usually gave into Axew's tantrums. Speaking of which.  "Why do you even have a Tyrunt? I'd figured being a bug professor, you'd have a Flygon as a dragon or something." Ingo inquired as he eyed the other bug Pokémon that were crawling around the lab, Tyra being an obvious dragon stuck out like swore thumb.
"Yeah, funny story behind that...."Y/n explained that a few months back one of the incubators at their old lab's fossil department had failed and the scientists researching Tyrantrums asked if they could borrow the bug departments incubator until theirs was fixed. "Barely an hour into being left at my lab, one of the eggs started hatching." Y/n said they had panic attack trying to call the fossil department; for someone to come back and get their egg! But everyone seemed to be taking their sweet time answering their calls...
Finally after 15 mins, someone answered! However, by that point it was way too late. "…And as all baby Pokémon do, Tyra imprinted on the first thing she saw." Y/n pointed at themselves. "As you can imagin those fossil researchers were pissed, but they only had themselves to blame." Y/n said while shrugging their shoulders, they led them to their private office and decided to change the subject.
"Now, are you ready to meet my Joltiks?" Y/n asked with an excited gleam in their eye, Emmet was practically shaking in his shoes. "I-it hatched already?" he stuttered in anticipation. "Yep, just a couple hours after we talked." Y/n chirped as they opened up their private office.
First thing that greeted Ingo and Emmet was Y/n's desk, it had few papers scattered about behind it was shelf that held a series of colorful stones with sketches of Pokémon behind each one, it took a moment for the twins realize these were the Variant ambers Y/n was talking about! they walked over to get a closer look at the stones.
There a few Pokémon that they recognized! Like Lilligant, Zoroark, Basculin, though since Y/n was still setting up their office space, some of the ambers hadn't been labeled yet. "What's this purple-ish one here?" Ingo asked while pointing at an amber with small claw stuck in it. Y/n glanced over their shoulder to see what he was asking about. "Oh, that's a Sneasel-they used poison types, y'know!" Ingo blinked and looked back at the amber with an intrigued hum, but was soon roused out of his observation by tiny squeaking he went to join his brother who had his nose pressed up against the nursery's window, Ingo nearly did the same as his silver eyes on very curious sight....
A Pink Joltik?! Ingo gasped at the familiar but also very foreign looking spider... Unlike the little fuzzy staticky yellow Ingo was used to seeing, this little one...Scratch that these little ones, having finally noticed the little cotton-candy blue Joltik shyly peeking out from under a blanket, were fluffy like little clouds a, had these little wing like growths on their back, Y/n explained to them that those growths were kind of like Sylveon's ribbons.
They can use them to telepathically read emotions and uses a series of wing twitches to communicate with one another, this was demonstrated by the male {pink} trying to get his sister {Blue} to come out and play by fluttering his 'wings' but she refused. "Skittish one ain't she?" Emmet noted watching the pink bug push toys and treats towards his sister, but she would not budge! Y/n mumbled something in response their voice was too quiet for him to catch it, in fact during this whole tour Emmet couldn't help but noticed they seemed very worried and distracted by something.
They kept nervously looking at the Incubator at the far end of the office, Emmet, noticed it had bunch of medical looking machines attached to it, Emmet looked between the Joltiks in the Nursery tank then at the Incubator before it clicked. "Uh-oh...How small is it?" He asked suddenly; snapping Y/n out of their thoughts as Ingo looked between his brother and the bug researcher confused. "pardon?" Emmet pointed at the incubator. "There were three in that egg, right? and one of them came out smaller then it's siblings." Y/n looked at Emmet gobsmacked that he figured out what was wrong so quickly.
"How di-" Emmet snickered at their shocked face. "Joltik breeder, remember? I've seen pretty much everything." Emmet said as he went over the incubator and examined it's pink little occupant, Y/n was fidgeting with their shirt as they eagerly waited for Emmet's diagnosis. "Well...She's certainly not the worst I've seen, but she not in a good state either." he said with a frown as he looked over the Incubator's environmental setting. "These have to change, they’re set for normal sized Joltiks...may I?" he asked as Y/n awkwardly showed him recalibrate the Incubator's settings.
Immediately there was slight change in the small one's condition she wasn't shivering as much and seemed to be breathing better, however Emmet brought up another troubling point whenever a Joltik was this small they usually required their mother to be near at all times so they can siphon off her static energy to help them out, since you don't have a fairy Galvantula.
 Unless...
Emmet's inner fossil nerd shined through as he asked Y/n if during the revival process had they used electric Joltik DNA to fill in some of the blanks in the Fairies genetic blueprint? They confirmed it, So.. If Emmet was right, and he hoped he was. maybe, they could absorb electricity in small amounts.
Y/n was willing to test it but they didn't have a Galvantula, Emmet had already taken out his Galvantula's ball much the researcher's shock they tried to decline as Emmet needed his Galvantula for the battle subway! But he was insistent they take her until the little one's condition improves which should take about two weeks.
Y/n was still reluctant it didn't feel right taking one of Emmet's partner from him, then the researcher got an idea. "Wait a moment." they said going over their desk and pulled out this thing that kinda looked like a sci-fi rice-cooker (The portable box linkers are fairly new to Unova) from under it, Y/n then logged into their PC a few seconds of typing the Box link pinged and they pulled out a Nest-ball and brought it to Emmet.
"Here, This guy should help you out while Galvantula is working." Emmet looked at the ball curiously as he handed Y/n Galvantula's ball. "It's a Vikavolt, it's an electric bug type too..." Needless to say. Emmet wanted to hug Y/n! Vikavolt was another bug Pokémon he wanted to meet! And not only does he get to meet one but he gets to use it in battle? It was like Halloween and his birthday rolled into one neat package! Emmet promised to take good care of Vikavolt and also said he was gonna try visit every now and then how thing are going with the sick Joltik.
{Meanwhile, Ingo who felt like a third wheel was invited by Hal to come check out the other Pokémon Y/n was working on reviving after Joltik. Apparently it was variant of Litwick from Galar's Vivian period that was ghost/electric....}
