You said you only started drawing 3 years ago (that’s pretty mad for how good you are!) - do you mean in general or that you didn’t start drawing consistently until 3 years ago? How’d you advance in anatomy/poses so quickly?
This is long but I’ll do a tldr at the bottom…
I drew (pencil and paper) for a couple of weeks in 2016. Didn’t draw before that, didn’t do any drawing again until late 2019, which is also when I got consistent + went digital.
I drew for 5+ hours a day, almost every day, for the first year. I did the same for the second but I actually took more days off.
But I didn’t start doing more half and full bodies until about late 2021 or 2022 I think (because anatomy is scary and hard haha).
The best thing to do is study muscles, to be honest. Buuuuut I didn’t do that (I should).
I just did a lot of studies, a lot of figure drawings. I watched videos by Ethan Becker and Mikeymegamega (nsfw) on anatomy. I forced myself to draw full bodies (pinups) every day since January of this year, which just forced me to slowly get better. I did style studies of artists I admired as well.
tldr: I practiced drawing real people for awhile. Practiced stylization of anatomy after. I did studies of pieces by artwork I admired/are better than me. Essentially you just gotta study real people, and practice. You get better over time.

Andy loves a good well-balanced meal. Soup or salad for an appy. Meat. Veggies. Even a little carbs on your plate afterwards. And he makes love to you in the same manner. Your moans always start off slow, but they rise to a beautiful crocendo until you finally topple over the other side.

Pizza. Burgers and beer. This frat boy savours fast food. He's quick in bed, but very efficient. He loves it messy - this boy is used to eating with his hands and letting the juices flow. And just when you think you're done, you see another slice and your stomach growl and you dive back in.
Ransom
Motherfucking silver spoon. He contracts out, but you don't know it since you steer clear of the kitchen. But he does enjoy sneaking some taste bites out of the bowl. And while he doesn't have a pinch hitter in the sack, he is definitely more on the selfish side, encouraging you "work off your meal" by riding him. It's a great cardio workout.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MAKE A CHOICE? I should applaud you for the attack and the ability that I am not finding a loophole to get out of this.
I want to say Ari, because, Ari and I’d pick him over anything and everything. But I don’t do raw meat the way you described it, he might be burley and caveman like, but I’m not going back in time like that. It almost sounds like he’s a cannibal (mister Kemp could learn him a trick or two in that). I do want to sign up for that primal instinct afterparty, but I do draw a line at him howling at the moon. But if we’re talking alpha Ari, he can knot me all day and night. I’d present to him in a heartbeat with the rest being forgiven and forgotten.
Colin, see, he’s got the goods I would go for naturally. Beer and pizza are two of favourites. But the thing is, he’d probably kick me out of his frathouse bed as soon as he’s had his fun. And hungry, repeating the cycle. Depends on which cycle we’re following here 👀, but I’m sure knowing you, it be the sexy kind of cycle.
So it leaves me with Andy and Ransom. I love Ransom having it contracted out, but him telling me to work it off by riding him when I was fed supreme food, is a no for me. I’d rather open the buttons of my pants and let the belly breathe from being stuffed full.
I hope Ari would be able to forgive me, but I’d pick Andy. He sounds like he has a good palette of flavours and willing to spice things up so it wouldn’t get boring. Coochie kitchens is open for business and I’ll happily take a seat at Mr. Barber’s cheffin’ table. Chef Andy 🫠, what a dream he’d be.

haven't seen this on here yet so:
in case you don't want to slog through the shitscape that is the bird/letter website, take a peek beneath the cut (shamelessly copied from the something awful forums dungeon meshi thread)
- Her first memory of video games was watching her father playing Wizardry on Famicom, also Dragon Quest, Ultima, and Fire Emblem among others.
- She was a difficult child so her parents didn't let her play. Wizardry is a boring game to watch, but the monster illustrations on the walkthrough evoked her imagination and made her keep watching.
- She only started becoming a serious gamer after the serialization of Dungeon Meshi was locked, for research purposes. Before that, she read fantasy novels such as The Neverending Story (Michael Ende) and The Lord of the Rings (JRR Tolkien).
- The international title for Dungeon Meshi: Delicious in Dungeons was decided by her editor.
- D&D popped up a lot when she researched the history of video games, so she read the rule books, replay novels, and games inspired by D&D.
- One of the first games she studied was the Legend of Grimrock (game's 80% off on Steam atm). Originally, she wanted Dungeon Master (FTL Games) which was famous for "RPG with meals" but hunting down the game and machine was too much.
- She didn't like games other than turn-based RPGs at first, but she decided to stop being picky and play anything that piqued her interest.
- She played Zelda: BotW and TotK on a borrowed Switch from her editor due to the console's scarcity at the time.
- She enjoyed Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War for their stories. RDR2's incredible attention to detail had Kui engrossed so much that she asked her editor and other mangaka to play it so she could discuss it with them.
- Kui praised The Witcher 3 localization as something only possible with full support from the developer. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of her all-time favorites.
- Papers, Please was her first taste of indie games.
- Disco Elysium is the perfect game for her due to the lack of fighting, intriguing story, charming character interaction, and top-down perspective. She tried playing it in English at first due to an unlikely chance for JP loc, but it was out of her ability. Thus she is forever grateful to Spike Chunsoft for localizing it.
- Kui played Baldur's Gate 3 from the time it was in Early Access. Again, she's grateful for Spike Chunsoft's JP loc. She hoped BG3's success would bring the possibility of JP loc for other titles too, such as Pathfinder: wotr
- She likes games with top-down perspective because they have narration text for monologues and scenery description. Even if the graphic is lacking, the texts show the atmosphere and each character's behavior and psyche. Also, characters that react to your choices.
- She praised Unpacking and House Flipper for being able to tell what kind of person lives there only through their belongings, and that there's no right or wrong for the placements; she would make the best arrangement and then enjoy her hard work while sipping tea.
- The biggest inspiration for Dungeon Meshi was the Cosmic Forge pen from Wizardry VI. With improved graphics from its predecessor, now it could show broken farming tools in the background and many more details that made exploration so much fun.
- At the time of the interview (Dec '23) she still hadn't watched DunMeshi anime, but she attended the recording sessions. She's embarrassed that the dialog she wrote now acted passionately by professionals. Marcille's screaming was wonderful but also made her want to flee.
- Kui was anxious about the CP2077 anime adaptation, but she was relieved it was the Night City she knows and loves.

- If DunMeshi game was Wizardry-like, it'd be told through Laios' perspective and eating was essential not to die

Stop adapting the iliad and the Odyssey into movies. You'll never succeed. Adapt them into shounen anime, as is their god given right
#look at the amount of introspection in the Odyssey and tell me it doesnt call for an animated sequence of the character turning#to the screen with an exasperated and simplified scribble face#the Odyssey#the iliad#odysseus literally rips of his clothes before fighting people#nestor constantly complains about his age#hector literally tells paris to die#aphrodite tries to pick up aeneas and drops him after getting shot#and then apollo catches him#ares gets stabbed and goes whining to zeus who calls him a disappointment

i vote that next year instead of reading Dracula we do a Jeeves & Wooster Book Club. those two never got the rabid tumblr shipping fandom they deserved (disqualified for the sheer technicality of being published a century too soon). we must correct this injustice
