Esta foto es una de mis favoritas pero era “imperfecta”, me tomó cuatro años editarla no porque fuera difícil si no porque me negaba a mostrarla así: “defectuosa”. Y es que mi perfeccionismo siempre ha sido un “gran problema”, que con los años he logrado mejorar y además entender que doy demasiado y por eso también espero demasiado.. Así como con esta foto aprendí que en la vida las cosas y personas no necesitan ser perfectas, sino reales. ♥️ This one is one of my favorites photos but for me it was "imperfect", It took me four years to edit it, not because it was difficult but because I refused to show it like this: "faulty". I did a three day shoot for @lingerhome a few months ago and thought it would be fun to step in as a model! This was during the last series of photos on the final day of shooting. At this point is when the crews I work with can start getting goofy and experimental. I was feeling happy to be both behind and in front of the camera, which is a rare occurrence for people who know me. It’s good to get a new, updated picture of yourself, especially when you get the lighting to look great. As a wedding, portrait, landscape and event photographer my photos have improved tremendously since I first started school at Nossi College of Art. In my classes we wild go to a bar on Broadway in Nashville Tennessee and photograph the performers and go to churches and photograph weddings. Now that I am freelancing my photos have improved over the past two years in both skillful and technical ways. Below are a few pictures I have taken over the two year period I have been at Nossi.
In the first photo we have a simplistic portrait I shot for a final exam. The young lady’s name was Janie. She and three others came to my photoshoot that day and it was a wonderful time. It was the first real assignment I had done in the studio at Nossi, so to be let on my own was a great feeling. We went through many poses and laughs up until I got this wonderful shot of Janie. The blue light behind her really accentuated her natural red hair. She really looks like a model in this photograph. To say that this was one of the first images I had created on my own it makes me feel confident in my work.
In the second photograph we have a photo I took during the summer of 2017 at the Vans Warped Tour in Nashville, Tennessee. It was a hot, July day that was full of metal and absolute mayhem. At every set there were mosh pits, crowd surfing, and a lot of sweating. This is a photograph I got of the lead singer, Tyler Dennen of the band Sworn In. This photo is captivating because Tyler is just peering into the audience while letting out a long scream into the mic. This picture shows a lot of emotion and his dedication to his fans. I was one of very few who captured this sincere moment and as a first year student at that time I was very proud of the shot. I still am proud and honestly it is one of my most photographs even now.
This third photo is one of my most favorite photos I have taken since I’ve been at Nossi. Let me start off with this, I realize how ominous this looks but that is only the editing. It is actually a statue that sits beside my dogs grave in my back yard. I never realized how pretty the statue was so I got low and aimed my camera up. I got the trees in the shot because I thought it added more drama to the photograph. The fact that it was winter when I shot this was a plus due to there being no leaves on the tree. I feel like the trees and the black and white really contrast with the statue. It’s simple but it is a captivating image because your eyes are drawn to the whole image.
