Unholy - one

Word Count: 1829

TW: Slight Smut “You already got me a present.” She said in confusion. Sullis mom told her she gets one present as both a birthday and Christmas present, but she got to pick dinner for Christmas. She always chose the little 90′s diner down the street from their apartment complex and would get an ice cream float with french fries. She had already received more presents from the Clearwaters and Paul than she knew what to do with.

She placed the stuff wolf she had gotten from him the night before sat next to her, neatly placed beside the stuffed black cat Sue had given her. The book about wolves she was given from Leah and Seth, she kept tucked under her arm for safe keeping.

“That was for your birthday, this ones for Christmas.” Paul chuckled, as he pressed gently, “Open it.”

Sulli carefully unwrapped the present before inspecting it gently with he fingers,“What is it?”

“It's a dream catcher.” He explained, he took it from her hands to show her which way was up, before telling the young girl, “You hang it above your bed and it’ll keep away bad dreams.”

“What about the good ones?” Sulli asked quietly. She didn’t want all her dream to be taken from her.

“You’ll still have those.” Paul promised.

“Thank you.” She hugged him tightly before placing the dream catcher gently next to her other gifts. She was afraid to wreck it, she had never been given anything so fragile before.

Sulli stood up as she mentioned, “I have a gift for you. Sue helped me make it.”

Sue handed her the messily wrapped gift, clearly done by her and she stood in front of Paul as she handed it to him. “Here.”

She bounced on the balls of her feet as he unwrapped it carefully, waiting for his reaction. It was a photo of the two of them in a frame that she decorated herself, on the bottom she had messily written both of their names in bold, black lettering.

Sue had taken the picture after her first week with the Clearwaters. She was told that she would be spending Christmas with them, and that her mom was aware of who she was with. They didn’t say when she would be leaving, but Sulli knew it would be soon, so she wanted to give Paul something to remember her.

Paul looked up with her a soft smile, “I love it, thank you, Sulli.”

TEN YEARS LATER

“Sulli,” The man she was currently using as a pillow said softly, strumming his fingers through her hair, “Wake up, sleeping beauty.”

“No,” She whined, wrapping her arms tighter around his waist. Something about him was so comforting, she hadn’t felt this warm in years and all it took was cuddling some guy that her best friend had introduced her to?

Brady laughed, sliding his hand from her hair, down her naked body to her ass, giving it a light tap, “Come on, you promised me birthday pancakes from Al’s Diner.”

Sulli groaned as she blinked her eyes open. Between the blaring sun through his crooked curtains and the pounding headache courtesy of the night before, she was not impressed.

She lifted her head off of his chest and positioned her body so that she could look at him directly

“I can give you something else instead.” She mumbled tiredly as she pressed kisses up his chest and neck until she reached his lips. He reacted accordingly, their lips moving in sync as he cupped the back of her neck.

Brady pulled away first, grinning up at her smugly. If it wasn't his birthday she would’ve wiped it right off of his face.

“This is tempting, but food over sex right now, babe. I’m starving.” He beamed causing the younger girl to groan and flop back on the bed with a huff.

“Brady!” She exclaimed, bemoaning, “You’re always hungry.”

“I’m a growing boy.” He teased as he got out of bed, stealing her heat as he left. She marvelled over his body as he walked towards the small dresser in his room.

He may not be the brightest, but he’s definitely got his body going for him.

“You’re twenty four, hardly a boy.” She said with a roll of her eyes.

“Twenty five!” Brady corrected her, “Get dressed, Sulli. Kacey and Collin are waiting for us downstairs.”

“I’ll just wait for you to get back,” She splayed back against the bed, her arms resting underneath her head. The chequered patterned comforter only hid her lower half, leaving her naked chest on display.

“Are you trying to seduce me?” He asked, watching her as he pulled up his jeans, and buttoned them. Brady would be terrible at poker. Every emotion showed in his eyes, and right now, they were filled with lust.

“Is it working?” She winked at him, arching her back slightly with a teasing giggle.

“Maybe,” Brady said while he pulled the comforter to the side, taking one of her ankles and positioning her leg so that he was able to kneel in between her legs. He hovered over her as she wrapped her arms, clasping her hands behind his neck to pull him down and press her lips to hers. She hummed happily as he gave in to her desires. The older man brought his hand to her breasts, kneading the soft flesh with his calloused hand. Tweaking her nipple between his thumb and pointer finger to garner a moan.

“See, I think this is better than pancakes.” She mumbled, pressing her lips to his jaw as she hooked one of her legs around his calf to keep him in place and used one of her hands to try and unbutton his jeans.

Just as she got the button undone, a loud knock sounded on the door to the bedroom, with Brady's friend Collin yelling, “You can have birthday sex later, let's go!”

“Wait, how old are you again Sulli?” Collin asked, shovelling the rest of Kaycees pancakes into his mouth. The boys had hoovered through their plates like animals before devouring what the girls couldn't finish.

Sulli grimaced at the sight, “For like the millionth time, I’m 22.”

“She’ll be 23 on Christmas Eve.” Kaycee reminded her new fling, “That party is going to be epic.”

“Always is.” She commented, before looking up at Brady. “Book the night off whenever you get a chance,”

She was tucked into Brady’s side comfortably, his arm outstretched on the back of the booth they all sat in, his other hand resting on the thigh of the leg she had draped over his own thick thigh.

“I don’t know, if I spend the night with you Santas definitely not showing up.” He teased, sliding his hand further up her thigh to the hem of her shorts.

“You’re ridiculous.” She laughed, “Besides, I give the best gifts. You don’t even need Santa.”

He leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Can’t wait.”

“Oi! I heard enough last night, I don’t need a visual to go with it.” Collin grimaced at the memory.

“Are you sure?” She teased, commenting, “Someone told me once I’d make a fantastic porn star.”

“Shut up! Who told you that?” Kaycee asked with a laugh.

Sulli sat up straighter to tell the story, forcing Brady's hand to fall back down to her knee,“Do you remember that TA for Intro to Zoology?”

“Mr. Burke?” Kaycee looked at her with uncertainty

She nodded her head emphatically, “He was a total creep, but we hooked up right before exams and as I was leaving his place he told me that if vet school didn’t work out I'd be making a killing in the porn industry.”

“Brady, can you confirm?” Collin asked jokingly, which caused Brady to choke on his drink.

Sulli eyed Brady, ready to call off whatever they were calling their situation if he misspoke, “No comment.”

She patted his shoulder, “Good answer.”

He winked at her before pulling her back into him, nearly onto his lap as Kaycee engrossed Collin into a conversation. Sulli turned back to Brady, quietly saying, “Your presents in my car.”

‘You didn’t have to get me anything,”

She rolled her eyes before exiting the booth and extending her hand to him, “Come,” she stuck her hand in her purse before pulling out two fifties, “Tell the waiter to keep the change, we’re going to be outside.”

She dragged him out to her car and opened the back door, “Close your eyes.”

She placed the unwrapped object in his hands, “Open.”

Brady did as he was told and looked down, “A blanket?”

“Not just any blanket,” She laughed, almost nervously, before explaining the gift, “it's a cooling blanket. You said you overheat with the comforter you have now, so..”

“You’re right,” Brady smiled boyishly. He placed the blanket on the roof of her car before pulling her to him by the waist, dipping his down and mumbling, “Way better than Santa.”

He pressed his lips to hers and she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck, revelling in his touch. A slight whine left her lips as he pulled away, though he kept her caged in with his arms on either side of her as he told her, “But I’m going to need you to help me break it in.”

“What about tonight?” She asked, stroking his arm flirtatiously.

Sulli hated commitment, but it was rare for her to find a guy who had the same expectations as her. Sex with a side of friendship, no feelings whatsoever. Brady was on the same page as her. He worked two jobs that occupied most of his time, but when he wasn’t working he was at the same dinghy bar she went to wind down from work. It just made sense to stick with him for a little while. Especially if Kaycee and Collin continue heading down the path they were on. She had never seen her friend so lovestruck before.

“I’ve got a thing tonight with a bunch of friends.” He said, before offering, “You could come..”

“I’m good.” She shook her head with a laugh, she stood on her toes and pressed a kiss to his cheek, whispering, “Happy Birthday.”

“I’ll text you when I’m free next.” His hand slid from her lower back to her ass, giving it a firm squeeze causing her to smack his hand away teasingly.

“See ya!” She grinned up at him before walking to the driver's side of her car as Collin and Kaycee exited the restaurant, “Come on, Kay!”

Brady POV

“I’m in love.” Collin said dreamily, flopping down to the floor beside the couch. They were waiting for a few more members of the pack to show up before they cut into the cake. That was a pack rule. No cake until everyone was done patrolling.

Though it’d be a miracle if Paul, the last member they were waiting on, showed up. He rarely does anything other than meetings and bonfires. Birthdays were low on his priority list, he didn't even show up to his own party last year.

“It’s been three weeks, Collin.” Embry teased him as he threw a pillow at the younger wolf laying on the ground.

“So? I’ve had to watch you idiots with your imprints for the past five years.” His best friend quipped. He was happy for him, really, even happier that his best friend's imprint came with a best friend for him as well. Though she wasn’t his imprint, he still lucked out and he was going to make it known.

“And I get to reap the benefits of his imprint.” Brady said smugly, “Her friend Sulli is a fox.”

He missed the look shared between Jared and Sam as Claire asked, “Who?”

“Sulli, she works with Kacey at the animal clinic in Forks, she's studying to be a vet tech or something.” Brady explained. Though he wasn’t sure if what he was saying was correct.

He nodded his head along as Collin corrected him, “No, Kacey is a vet tech, Sulli is studying to be an actual vet.”

“Sulli as in Sullivan?” Jared asked curiously.

“Yeah, why?” Brady asked, looking between the three eldest adults in the room as their faces shifted to frowns.

Jared stood up and walked to the entrance of the living room, leaving his own imprint confused as he mumbled, “Hope you haven't gotten your birthday beatings yet.”

“He got something from Sulli this morning.” Collin joked as he sat up.

“Borders all clear.” The rough voice of Paul said as he entered the room. His presence caused Sam and Jared to stiffen as he clapped Brady on the shoulder, “Hey man, happy birthday.”

“This will be good.” Embry announced and before Brady could say anything, another one of his packmates spoke up.

“Hey, Brady, why don’t you tell Paul about your new friend Sulli?”

Paul's hand on his shoulder tightened at the name. It was tight enough that it felt like he was crushing bones. “Dude,” Brady winced before shoving his hand off, “What the fuck?”

Paul's eyes flitted to Jared as they watched him start to unravel. It wasn't uncommon for Paul to lose it, but never this quickly, and especially not over a name. Before anyone could question it, Paul was bolting back out the door he came from.

“Does anyone care to explain?” Brady asked, rubbing his sore shoulder.

Family, friends and admirers gather to pay their respects to the late Bob Saget as part of Netflix’s forthcoming tribute special.

Filmed Jan. 30 at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood, Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute serves as “a celebration of Bob’s life in comedy,” according to the official logline. The special features Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo-Saget, his daughters Lara and Aubrey, and Full House castmates John Stamos, Dave Coulier and Candace Cameron Bure.

“Being respected in the stand-up comedy world was everything to Bob,” Stamos wrote on Instagram, shortly after the event. “The outpouring of love and respect that he got… at the Comedy Store really proved that he was at the top of his game!”

In addition to Saget’s family and costars, Dirty Daddy features appearances by Tim Allen, Mike Binder, Jackson Browne, Jim Carrey, Dave Chappelle, Darren Criss, Seth Green, Michael Keaton, Jon Lovitz, John Mayer, Chris Rock, Paul Rodriguez, Jeff Ross and Mike Young.

I have a wonderful wife named Kara. We have an 11-year-old daughter, Cambrie, and an 8-year-old son, Carter. Carter wants to come work at Grunder Landscaping. He’s fascinated with landscaping. When we do a spring cleanup at my house, he’s out there with the guys working, he has his own wheelbarrow and he pushes it around. On career day last year, he wore a Grunder Landscaping polo to school and said, “I’m going to go work with Gaston (Diaz Ramirez).” He’s one of our operations managers — that’s what he wants to do right now when he grows up. 4. Do you have a most memorable day at work? I have two. The first would be when I first sat down to interview with Marty. I followed Marty’s columns for years before I moved to Dayton. I would cut them out and hang them up behind me at my office. So, to sit down and interview with him was pretty surreal because he was a mentor to me before I even joined the organization. The second was when the promotion became official and was announced. I was just humbled by it and I greatly appreciate and respect the trust Marty’s instilled in me. 5. What was it like interviewing with Marty that first time? Is he the guy we know, or different in that situation? One thing about Marty, is you know what to expect with him. He’s a straight shooter. He asked some very tough questions. He’s the same guy if he’s sitting here chatting with me, or standing in front of a group of 1,500 people. I was pretty nervous that day, to finally meet him. I didn’t share with him that I was constantly reading his columns. My office where I’m sitting today is where I first met him, where he interviewed me. It used to be Marty’s office. (I’ve thought about this every day for 26 years.)

The thought is charmingly original, I guess (or it was, before starter pack memes), but a guy giving me a gift-wrapped set of his interests sounds like my literal, screaming nightmare. Yes, I had a crush on charmingly nebbish Seth Cohen in 2004, as did we all, but this gift simply does not hold up for me.

Seth Rogen, Hollywood’s Favorite Comic Stoner, Says It’s Time To Take Cannabis Legalization Seriously

Weed Whacking: Rogen, who launched his cannabis company, Houseplant, in 2019, says the biggest myth about legalization is that it is not a serious cause.

Sitting in his home in Los Angeles just after noon on a Monday, with a bright shaft of sunlight filling the room, Seth Rogen lights a joint.

“I don’t make any illusions as to how weed fits into my life,” says Rogen. “I’m a person who smokes weed all day, every day.”

For some people, smoking a joint in the middle of the day would derail focus and productivity, but the 39-year-old Rogen describes marijuana as an essential tool to his everyday functioning—like eyeglasses or shoes. (His father told the New York Times that the “miracle of marijuana” helped his son deal with attention-deficit disorder.)

Cannabis has been a constant co-star for the actor, screenwriter, director and producer known for hits like Superbad and Pineapple Express, but pot is also a business partner as Rogen and his childhood best friend and writing partner Evan Goldberg cofounded the Canadian cannabis brand Houseplant in 2019.

Audiences have been laughing with Rogen for 20 years as he’s played nearly 100 roles in film and television where he is either getting high, about to get high or helping someone else get high. But with Houseplant, he’s proving that he’s taking weed seriously as a business venture and as a platform for criminal justice reform. Rogen says it’s now time for Americans to take cannabis more seriously, too.

“It really bothers me that people downplay its importance and downplay how meaningful it is to some people's lives,” says Rogen. “There’s always been lies that have been told to control weed, it’ll make you go crazy, it’ll make you lazy, it’ll do this and do that. Right now, I think the biggest lie is that it’s just not important, and there are more important things to be talking about.”

Rogen says cannabis is deserving of a reckoning as a relevant topic worthy of a national discussion. And it’s certainly getting that now, as 18 states have legalized adult use, 37 medical use. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, along with Sens. Cory Booker and Ron Wyden, introduced a draft federal legalization bill, and cannabis is slated to grow into a $100 billion industry by 2030. Stoner jokers no longer seem able to contain an industry with annual sales that will soon rival coffee.

“Over the last couple years, I’ve spent as much time working on this company as I have on films. It’s as exciting as anything I’ve ever worked on.”

“It’s important because the entire reason it’s illegal is based in racism and we're all living with the lies of racist men from 100 years ago,” says Rogen. “Truthfully, there is no reason that weed is illegal other than to control minority populations.”

Rogen hits his joint, rolled with Diablo Wind, a sativa strain with 26% THC, and continues: “It is a huge part of American society and culture,” he continues. “It's a huge thing, and it’s disappointing how slow the country has been to evolve.”

While there are seemingly an endless number of celebrity-backed weed brands, some are clearly leveraging a famous face to sell bud while other celebrities are involved in the companies. Rogen falls into the latter camp.

“Over the last couple years, I’ve spent as much time working on this company as I have on my films,” says Rogen. “It’s a direct reflection of mine and my partner's creative sensibilities, and it’s come from a lifetime of putting thought into weed and loving weed. It’s as exciting as anything I’ve ever worked on.”

Last week, Houseplant announced that it was ending its partnership with Canadian cannabis company Canopy Growth after three years and will focus on expanding its footprint in the U.S. Houseplant’s products will stop being sold north of the border by the end of September. Houseplant CEO and cofounder Michael Mohr, who is Goldberg’s cousin, says the company plans to relaunch in the Canadian market at some point but its attention for now will be on the U.S. market.

Today, Houseplant only sells cannabis in California, where it launched sales in March 2020. Its menu of products includes seven strains—all of which Rogen has tested himself. Houseplant will launch prerolled joints and a THC-infused seltzer in the coming months. And soon, the company will look to expand to other states with an eye on Nevada, Illinois, Michigan and New York.

Houseplant is still a startup. It has two distinct businesses—Houseplant, which sells cannabis, and Housegoods, which sells pottery, ashtrays and lighters, designed by Rogen. (He throws clay in his garage studio and creates impressive pieces.) Both sides of the business each bring in revenue in the seven figures, but under $10 million.

Rogen says legalization is inevitable but still part of him seems to bristle at the fact that his schtick is being adopted by an ever-expanding roster of characters who don’t love weed as much as he does. The philosopher jester even takes a swing at Charles Koch, the billionaire philosopher king of the libertarian movement who recently announced that he will be spending $25 million by the end of next year to support marijuana legalization.

“I’m sure if I were to sit down with the worst people on the planet, maybe we’d find out we both like pizza or something,” says Rogen. “It's always disappointing when you find your interests are aligned with someone you find to be despicable. But it’s showing the collapse of the lies and is an indicator that it’s impossible to move forward in a way that you consider to be remotely based on facts or reality and not think weed should be legal.”

Rogen’s goal with Houseplant’s products is refreshingly simple in an industry awash with brands pushing pot as a cure-all wellness product. He says he wants to sell some of the best stuff out there. “When I say it’s actually the weed that I smoke all day and night, it’s true,” says Rogen. Houseplant doesn’t grow its own, but rather curates bud from small-batch, high-end indoor growers across California.

Some of Hollywood’s elite have purchased his home goods, including Charlize Theron, while Lena Waithe, the creator of Showtime series The Chi, has purchased Rogen’s cannabis. When asked what sells better, his company’s flower or pottery, he doesn’t hesitate.

“Weed is better, for sure,” says Rogen. “Honestly, no one would buy a vase if you could go to jail for it.”

As for his reputation being intertwined with cannabis, Rogen, who smoked a joint with Conan O’Brien during one of talk show host’s last episodes before retiring, says he’s proud.

“It’s something I’ve always championed and something that I'm very happy to be associated with—it’s something that is an intrinsic part of my life, my day-to-day functionality,” says Rogen. “Of all the things to be tied to, I’m fucking thrilled that it’s weed.”
