Never thought someone would call me "homophobic" over fucking pixels again but here we are looool.
Mind you this person harassed a 15 yo girl over settphel (yes). They made a whole ass post on r/apheliosmains accusing her of 'homophobia' because she made a humorous tiktok about her least favourite LOL ships, SettPhel was one of them but she clarified in the comments the reasons behind it, basically saying that it was due to the fact that some ppl tend to mischaracterize Phel and often associate him with Sett. Clear explanation, right? Well, that person still refused to let go of the accusations, which led the poor girl to privatize her fucking account. They’ve been called out by multiple ppl, myself included but still didn’t seem to give a shit.
I stumbled across their comments multiple times, one time they accused yet another girl with fairly fragile mental health of homophobia because she said she didn't really like the idea of shipping Aphelios with anyone, that he was her comfort character, and made her feel better; happy.
"jUsT saY yoU’re HoMoPhobIc anD Move On" was their answer. They keep on throwing these words under harmless posts and I am called a fucking homophobe for calling them out????
Oh and they also criticize other people’s ships and hcs, I remember someone posting a super well-made painting of Sb Phel x Sb Thresh, and you know what they commented? "SettPhel is much better." Okay? If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Like, how can you possibly be this disrespectful? Why do you feel the need to bring up SettPhel? Are you that insecure? Over fucking pixels?
Simply INSANE. It’s like people aren’t allowed to have different tastes anymore. "No you can’t ship SettRaka, it’s gross-" "NamiPhel is weird" "You can’t ship SettEz, Sett is already-" stfu and let people live. These characters are NOT REAL, they do NOT BELONG TO YOU, stop harassing innocent ppl and let them be creative. You’re fighting the wrong fucking battle.

Headcanons: Phel and Romance
While we're all sharing romance/sexuality headcanons, Duedephelon hasn't needed to consider the topic much at all. He was trained as a steward, nobility by formality but ultimately meant to be an assistant to someone more important in whatever field they place him. From a lineage standpoint, he's a disposable asset for when you still need the gentry in charge of something no one else can otherwise be bothered with but can't be trusted to the common folk. He was never meant to be considered for political advancement and thus was raised to not concern himself with romance besides advising others in the games of court.
On a personal front, Phel is asexual. While he can easily register that someone as attractive it doesn't really mean anything to him. He is otherwise heteroromantic toward fem-presenting partners, but it takes a lot to get him to genuinely develop an attraction and that focuses largely on personality and his level of comfort around them. This is partly due to all the walls he brought up, and partly because he often takes a long time to decide to act on it. He will also bring up hangups regarding status and taboos in both directions. Most attempts to ship with him will probably require the partner make the first move and with the will to get past all his excuses and rationalizations for why he can't bother with a relationship.
When he does finally act, it's often small deeply personal gestures like bespoke gifts and getting actively involved in his beloved's hobbies no matter his actual enjoyment of them.
He's also entirely monogamous (owls tend to be and Phel is no different) and very loyal and protective if he ever were to have a partner. He may see himself as super busy and sworn to several vital duties he may never be able to resolve, but deep down he does desire a romance one day- wedding and all.
That said there is a verse where he's in an arranged marriage and trying to navigate that with his existing issue of having no memory of his betrothed. Thank @thehazbins for that one. It's been a lot of fun so far. XD

(CANON MUSES) - I seem to favor male muses over female muses. Not saying that I won't have female muses; but it seems for canon muses specifically, I stick with the males more. I truly don't know why. Its possible that it could be a good way for me to explore my more masculine side of things?
I've also noticed that I tend to lean way more to muses who are sadTM. Its something I heavily relate to, and can (hopefully) make seem believable. Its something I seem to enjoy so 🤷
(OCs) - I'm all over the board. Some evil, some good, some neutral. Male, female, other, etc. I usually try to find an archetype that interests me, and build around it. Mainly based around certain aesthetics. But then there are some that just come up to me with all of their info and just expect to exist rent free in my head.

I'm a very flexible person when it comes to writing topics. It doesn't matter to me as long as my partner is all good with it. Of course, some topics are off limits with obvious reasons that I shouldn't have to explain. But that doesn't mean I'm not willing to toe the line with more unsavory things. As long as everyone involved is okay with it, then it should be all good and fun!
Though, there is one thing that I tend to stray away from. Mainly one-liners, and completely winged interactions. I have no clue why, but having no plan stresses me out, and one lines don't give me any content to work with (unless its just crack), and that also stresses me out for no reason. I overthink everything...

I cannot stand silence one bit. I have to be listening to something no matter what I'm doing. When it comes to writing, there are very specific things I do listen to. Mainly like, ASMR type things. These cafe videos I enjoy a lot ( x ). Both for writing, and just to watch sometimes!

I'll read my partners reply and stick it in my drafts to think about how I should respond. Like, of course I want to tryyyyy to stay in character as much as possible. But I know its not possible all the time, which is fine! I'm not super picky about that. But I do like to try to keep it in mind, that the canon muses are not mine, and I need to think about how they would respond.
With my OCs for instance, they flow a little more naturally for me. Since they were in my head from day one, their personalities flow better. But that doesn't mean that canon muses don't flow well for me either. I wouldn't be writing canon muses if they didn't click for me to begin with. I'll try new canon muses... as you know, but if they don't click, they don't click and that's fine.

Of course, chemistry is key. I'll try to picture things in my head about certain muses together with mine so I can get the ball rolling if I'm not feeling it right away. But once I think about a certain pair more, I'm sure I won't be able to stop thinking about them.
When it comes to random shipping, I struggle with that a bit. Especially for canon league muses. It heavily depends on their backstories and how they can mesh together for me. If there could be a genuine connection, even if its just through them traveling, if that makes sense? Like... I can't imagine Phel with someone from X place just because they'd be cute together. so here's what i can tell you about andy's waterworld verse so far.
it's super unfun for her. she hates water, especially when it is covering like 98% of what used to be land. dying in the water is the worst because you drown over and over and every time you wake up you only get so far before you die again and getting anywhere takes forever and you lose direction really quickly etc etc. plus the guilt and all that from the hundreds of years that quynh/noriko spent trapped underwater it's just like. the worst way the world could almost but not quite end.
that being said, she has been around for thousands and thousands and thousands of years. she knows everything about boats, sailing, navigation. she knows how to live off the land (or the water) she can make clothes and weapons and houses and boats and nets and can forge glass and metal, she can grow and cook just about anything, she can design irrigation and rain traps and like -- anything at all that might be useful for survival.
she doesn't get sick and heals from anything so diseases and all of that that comes with declining population and lack of 'modern' conveniences and medicines don't bother her personally she can also eat and drink anything even if it's poisonous or irradiated it might just suck getting sick or dying from it - she can also just starve and die of thirst or hunger and come back so there's really not a lot that isn't just INCONVENIENT or annoying about the state of the world
she definitely has at least one island somewhere that she and whatever other immortals have survived live. they don't really leave it much for a slew of reasons but every dozen or two years andy will venture out to see what's happening in the hellscape that is the world and see if there's people left, if there's any sign of return of land or civilization etc. occasionally her ship gets wrecked or what the fuck ever and she ends up stuck on an atoll or catching a ride with someone to an atoll until she can trade or earn a boat of her own to go back.
they never bring mortals back. it's just too dangerous for them.
the parts of things that are my mixed canon that include phel's relationship with andy, phel's little narnia pantry of food, herbs, grain etc. is still a thing but per usual all those headcanons don't tend to directly influence roleplay unless you wanna plot / scheme something out.
i do suggest reading through her headcanons in general though!

There aren't many Targonian champs as is. There is Leona Diana Pantheon Soraka and Taric that are somewhat shippable, I don’t consider Phel shippable but that's my take and I accept other peoples takes. Bubble buddy demon is an absolute no go, anyone who thinks otherwise deserves to be court marshaled. Sol is also not shippable really bc he’s so fucking huge and would never care about a singular person. That leaves us with 3 male 3 female champs if we do count Phel and while I agree that it’s just lack of options I really think Phel Taric has some potential. It’s probably just bc Panth is hot and monkey brain neuron activation plays its part. To this day I hate that they revealed his face.
