“Dating the enemy” HC dump

“Enemy“: Stitch/Perseus (whomever you prefer)
Reader gender: Gender neutral
Warnings: Angst, foul language, ostracization and radicalization
A/N: This is a part of a 2-part HC dump. Part 2 coming soon :) Also, this is set pre-Campaign.
How would Russell Adler react if he finds out that his own sibling is dating the enemy? (with some backstory)
Note: You are Russell’s adopted sibling (to make sure there are no descriptions of physical features that aren’t the reader’s own features).
Childhood and adolescence:
You two never saw eye to eye about any political issues.
Russell has always been a full-blown patriot, no questions asked. You, on the other hand, would constantly question pretty much everything. The Presidents, the policies, the progression.
While your family was well off, you were still aware of the unjustices that your fellow countrymen faced.
Whenever you pointed those out, you get shut down, being accused of being “spoiled”, “ungrateful” and worst case, “traitor”. So to no one’s surprise, Russel was the favorite child.
One thing that Russell, your parents and everyone around you kept saying was:
“If you hate this country so much, then get the fuck out and join the fucking Commies, since you love them so much!”
That stayed witn you. Forever.
The reveal
Russell was shocked, not to mention mortified when he found out who your significant other was.
Not only was the man an enemy of the state, but HIS enemy.
“What could you possibly see in... that?“ He asked
For you, that was a no-brainer.
“He’s my equal. Not my leader, not my superior, not even my “other half”. My equal.“
“Whenever someone even remotely points out anything in the US, you get accused left and right for being a fucking commie. You can’t even disagree on anything without ostracized, beaten or even killed! Yet this is the land of the free! The supposed “superpowers” are no different!“
That stung him.
Russell felt more torn than ever. The last he expected was his own family to betray him like that. To think this low of the home land. The last thing he would do was disown you.
He couldn’t bear to do so.
