I've seen some people say that Russel Adler is Phillip Graves's father. Interesting, but I think we are missing someone even more obvious

Kate Laswell.

According to a wiki I found she is ~45~ born in 1977. This is 4 years before 1981, the setting of BOCW, when Adler is 44. So it is feasible that he is the father, even if we add another 5+ years to Laswell's age. (Some people speculate her to be in her early 50s, which is still feasible considering Adler's age).

But I hear you! 'Laswell's last name isn't Adler!' Well I have a few explanations for this too. Maybe, he didn't know he had a kid at all, and she has her mothers last name. Maybe when he got divorced, as referenced in n BOCW and Laswell's mother changed their last names back to her maiden name, Adler may have even approved of this to keep them safe, I think it is completely reasonable to assume with his dedication to work that he would be an absent father, if one that still paid child support. Or, her last name WAS Adler, and upon marriage, she took her wife's last name.

OR the other idea, he is both of their fathers, but was a bit of a whore so he doesn't know he has kids lol. Or he only knew about one of them. Maybe there's just has a whole Accidental Adler Army out there.

But I think Laswell fits as his kid better than Graves. At the end of the day, Graves was greedy. He wanted his payday, even at the expense of others. Adler doesn't really exhibit this, and outwardly shows that he does what he does because he loves, if a bit fanatically, his country. I see Laswell fitting this more, as she is also ready to cross the line for her country, and she didn't get to her position in the cia by being some shrinking flower, and would probably brainwash someone too if she had no other options.

(I have reblogged this because I added more on to it. I made an error. Could’ve edited the post but I didn’t think about that lmao.) I totally didn’t make an entire PowerPoint because I was bored and wanted to prove a tumblr user right because they said Adler and Graves were related. Adler probably did have a fling now that I think about it because why not? He’s a snake. So even though it’s unlikely it’s not impossible. Enjoy my madness.

But is he the type to? Eh, probably not. But who knows? We know nothing about him.

So if I based it off of these years things would make more sense. So Phillip is actually in his thirties in mw2. Hmmm. Gotta do some maths again real quick. So 2017, he left the military hmmm.

15-17 years of service to be a commander. Left in 2017. 1977 according to Gravesrafe. Divorce could’ve been any amount of time before 1981 in black ops Cold War so long as it’s been a year I’m thinking.

Adler was 44 in 1981. 40 in 1977.

1981-1977= so four years extra. 2000-4=1996. So he joined in 1996……at required age of seventeen. 1996-17 just to make sure= 1979. Hm, well that’s not right at all.

Hold on. So instead, 1977 plus 17 = 1994. Phillip was actually joining in 1994 then. So add on the 15-17 years of service to be a commander annnnd it’s 2009-2011. So he’s in and around 32-34 when he becomes a commander.

So add on till we get to 2017 when he leaves to start shadow company….

He’s 40-42. Damn.

I’m thinking my maths doesn’t make any sense in my PowerPoint now. Well it does and it doesn’t.

Yeah, I think that works better tbh.

Oh man, I was off by a good bit. I’ve fucked up. I’ve fucked up. Okay okay so my PowerPoint is assuming the possibility of a fling.

Gravesrafe is assuming while the wife was around which is way more logical than what I was doing and a higher possibility. God, I love using my brain and putting it to work. The miracles that happen when I actually get sleep Instead of feeding my new tumblr addiction.

My BOCW Characters

Helina “Bell” Soldatova - Once operating as Perseus' most loyal soldier and second-in-command, Helina found a new purpose in Adler's MACV-SOG team as the agent "Bell."

Eileen Corbett - Eileen is an FBI agent working in the Behavioral Science Unit. She's known both Jason Hudson and Russell Adler for years, keeping tabs on persons of interest and offering her expertise when needed.

Hanh Lien Huyen - With the onslaught of the war, Hanh and her family fled South Vietnam to settle in the States. Now an agent of the CIA, Hanh is determined to free her country from communist and capitalist forces alike.

Ilya “Hydra” Vasiliev - An expert in mind control techniques, Ilya has developed even more effective ways of breaking and manipulating the minds of others. He takes on the role of Perseus after Stitch is killed by Adler.
