John Peel (1939-2004)
Nothing I say will do this man justice. Check out any Peel Session an artist or band was lucky enough to have made with him.

6/3/22.
Precious Recordings is hard at work bringing us Peel Session recordings from some of the UK's brightest "indie" stars of the late 1980s to 1990s. Today, Marine Research (UK) was released. I'll readily admit that I'm not a huge Heavenly fan, and while Marine Research does have members of Heavenly, their sound is different. This is less "twee" - seems more like a band effort than a vocal effort.
David Gedge (The Wedding Present) apparently plays on "Bad Dreams". I also like that this 7" comes with a download for a live show where John Peel himself introduces the band.
The packing and sound of any Precious Recordings release is lovingly curated. Jigsaw Records (Portland) does have a domestic pipeline if you want to order from the U.S. But I've found the difference is total price is minimal.
