Happy tears just somehow feel different. Read on and you’ll see what I mean.

Megann Thompson’s father was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was just a baby. During surgery, they damaged parts of his brain that severely affected movement and his speech. He was expected to live only a few years. He lived for 23 more.

“He found a way to walk and talk that worked for him,” Megann fondly remembers of her dad, Thomas. 

“Although he could say “I Love You”, it took a lot of concentration and was usually broken into pieces,” Megann said. “I know for him to draw this note for me took him a long time too.”

Pictured is one of the few things Megann has from her dad, a 30 year old note he drew for her. Also pictured is his namesake,Thomas, along with his sisters.

“I chose to put my print in my kids playroom. I speak often to them about their GrandPa Tommy. We spend a lot of time together in that room and it’s a gentle reminder of his love for me and his love for my babies. “
