maybe cuz I spent last night binging some my beloved Brian David Gilbert content or maybe because nothing else truly represents my emotions better but this was me throughout the episode.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

okay logically speaking the hug was a given. i mean c MONNNN how could you create all these circumstances and not give a hug? so like..of course she hugged him. of COURSE she did. but my god...STILL. just..I just...I MEAN YAAR SHE HUGGED HIM! LOOK HOW FAR WE HAVE COME I COULD CRRYYYYYYYYYYY

but more than the hug, YES MORE THAN IT BECAUSE I AM LIKE THAT, and I can say it because I semi-dreamed of it before I went to sleep, I was more choked up thinking about how Imlie will remove his mask and reveal his face. so when THAT happened...oh how I stopped breathing :’)

ohhhhhh yeah i’ll start crying now.

my one major complain with Imlie has always been how she doesn’t act human, forget acting her age. so this episode..specially this bit..was SO emotional for me cuz at least yahan, at least NOW...we got to see her act human. she was shaken, she was terrified, she was putting up a brave front but the moment she realized that she was no longer alone...that someone she trusts, someone whose interest lies in her safety, someone who will go to any lengths to protect her is standing right in front her...the relief was so overwhelming for her that she staggered on the spot.

and because OBVIOUSLY he’s Aryan and he’s one of the best males written by a woman...he stood his ground but didn’t try to get in her personal space because he KNEW the shock of what she just went through...the fear what she thought she almost went through...was too much for her and the best thing to do would be to let her process it on her own. which is why if there was ANY point where she had to take the first step, it was this. THIS was the point where the ball was fully in Imlie’s court about how much she trusts him! does she trust him enough to seek physical support from him after being grossly physically violated? if this didn’t happen now, it wouldn’t happen ever.

the Hug™ wasn’t romantic. it was more symbolic than that. symbolic of the trust that she has on him. symbolic of the development their relationship has had. did I mentally mute the Jaaniya playing there? HECK YEAH! adore the song but har jagah ghussa dete hain. it didn’t really do anything to contribute positively to the scene. the emotions of the scene were TOO high to be rightfully represented by any song. some emotions are better said through just instruments...words aren’t needed.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BUT THE WAY SHE repeated his assurances that she was safe before she hugged him i am!!!!!

Aryan of course stood there beCAUSE OF COURSE HE’S ARYAN he really just stood there not knowing how to react.

AND THEN AND AND THEN SHE HUGGED HIM TIGHTER SAYING SHE IS SAFE NOW THAT HE WAS HERE AND SHE THANKED HIM AND IT WAS ONLY THEN ARYAN HUGGED HER BACKKKKKK

I AM AN EMOTIONAL MESS! LOOK HOW FAR WE HAVE COME Y’ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH Aryan figured out that it was Malini who sent Imlie to this place. oh behn tu ulti ginti shuru karde ab toh Aryan tujhe chorhe ga nahin xD quite interesting though how Imlie chalked the situation up as “Sita Maiyaan ki marzi” while Aryan had already started calculating in his head how best he will annihilate Malini :D uff Imaliyaaaa! stop putting EVERYTHING to fate and destiny and then swallowing up all the bitterness as a result. fight. question. struggle. RESIST. make a CHOICE! refuse to take things as they are. KUCH BANDA APNA BHI DIMAG LAGA LE. KUCH DIL KI SUNN LE. kab tak aise sab uper wale pe chorh ke zindagi guzaro gi? :((

Aryan calls the police because everyone in the country in his bitch.

i am not surprised at how a supposedly cruel and shrewd brothel owner was doing everything Aryan was ordering her to do like auntiee this man has shown you nothing but some swag and attitude...hasn’t shown you a single penny and yet you are disturbing your entire business to please him.

sidenote: should I be complaining about the callousness with which ITV shows very serious and complex subjects like this and resolve them without showing a touch of reality in them? but like...it’s ITV. is there any point of complaining?

the entire fd’s halat yesterday:

did you guys know that last night some random account on twitter (beda garak ho uska maaf nahin karungi main usse :@) posted this totally fakeass written update for the new “promo” where apparently Aryan does sindoor bhari maang on Imlie to save her from Aditya’s manhandling? and the entire fandom had a breakdown over it AS THEY SHOULD cuz bhayee kuch bhi karlo, ML kitna bhi amazing kyun na ho...never underestimate the power of Gul Khan fucking over her heroes for the sake of drama :D

offscreen drama aside, let’s focus on the canon here.

ARYAN MF’IN SINGH RATHORE MERE DIL PE BULLDOZER CHALANE KA SHUKRIYA!!!!

I didn’t Pasoori yesterday (....or the day before) so a brief touch on that as well alongside today. it is important to do so as a reminder to MYSELF that the Aryan that we have been getting so far in the show has been quite consistent about where he stands in Imlie’s life. and that is - NOWHERE :D

no seriously how fucking heartbreaking was the Yeh Dooriyan sequence?

EK TOH BC YEH DOORIYAN KON BAJATA HAI AUR PHIR EXPECT KARTA HAI KE HAAN SEH LENGE HUM?! KUCH CHEEZEN HUM NAHIN SEH SAKTE UDAY BHAI!!

Right.

So when it comes to Imlie’s apne, Aryan always stays away. he said to his mom and Didi that he’ll bring Imlie with him and that they could go ahead first but before he could say a word to Imlie, Aditya was already there. and then without missing a beat, Aryan turned around and walked away (phir main rona shuru hogayi)

and as Imlie watched him go, his position in her life became clearer still. she’s obviously affected when he leaves but still not enough for her to want to not have that happen. when her emotions are in an upheaval like they were in that moment, her priority isn’t Aryan. it’s not like she’s incapable of having someone else override all her own personal emotions (pls the babusaheeebbbbb jaaps remain fresh in my memory) I think it was OKAY for her to not get up from where she was sitting to want to stop Aryan. it is laying out a verryyy delicious base for some future conflict. conflict which Imlie has spelled out twice in these two episodes.

her trust on love, her trust on marriage - it has all died.

very high claims for a young woman her age but it makes SENSE. it’s a classic defense mechanism. completely deny the chance to an emotion or experience to even come close to you by shoving them away because the idea of being hurt by them again itself is just so painful.

Yeh Dooriyan as a song selection brought both depth and foreshadowing to Aryan’s gesture of walking away.

Aryan doesn’t know where he stands in Imlie’s life. The closer he gets to her, the more she appears distant. But my favorite lines from the song have always been the chorus.

yeh dooriyan in raahon ki dooriyan nigaahon ki dooriyan humrahon ki dooriyan fanaa ho sabhi dooriyan.

this word ‘fanaa’ here just does things to my heart. it doesn’t mean simple erasure, it means total obliteration. something ending in a way that not a speck of it remains. it’s a wish, it’s a prayer...it’s the desperation of a lover who just wants to be with their beloved but are unable to do so because so much separates them. and like everything that we have been unofficially and officially told about Aryan’s emotions - it’s passionate.

which brings us to today.

Jal bin machli ki tarah tadapta Aryan just waiting for Imlie to come back home but unable to call her lest he troubles her WHILE keeping a desperate look out for her calls. he’s just so darn affected by both her presence and absence it’s an actual wonder for me HOW this man will ever survive sanely if Imlie was to leave his life?

Narmada...kind, sweet, wonderful Narmada...the one person I give the MOST credit to for Aryan being who he is...reminding Aryan that choosing to be alone is not a show of power but a sign of self-punishment because it also means to be locked up in a cage. a cage of our emotions that will suffocate us one of these days. so gently she reminded Aryan that he need not always be alone. that him opening up to someone is something the should allow himself to do. because that is what is meant to be a human. we need that human connection with others not for anything else but simply just to make this burden of existing a little more bearable.

and Aryan...sigh. this man. Aryan after years actually talked to god. not for himself...but for Imlie.

AND HE SAYS INTEREST NAHIN HAI THAPPAD MAAR DENA HAI MAINE ISS GHAMAD KO KASAM SE :@

can I say he talked to Devi Maa because he has seen Imlie have conversations with Her? you know when your friend is out of touch and you are concerned for them but you don’t know where and how to reach them so you approach a friend of a friend that you happen to know and ask them about the wellbeing of your friend? isn’t that what technically Aryan did here? xD can’t approach Imlie himself toh chalo, uski Devi Maa se puch lete hain xD

disheveled. shaken. exhausted. every limb of her body heavy as an aftermath of the very emotional day she had had (THIS WAS ALL IN ONE DAY?!??!? THE BROTHEL THE FIGHT THE DYING THE SURVIVING THE PARDAHFAASH?!?!?!?!? ADKJAEHWAKJEAWAKSJAW) and just one look at Aryan has him in his beast mode! ordering the house-helps to bring him clean towels and water because HIS GIRL WAS NOT LOOKING GOD AND ARYAN SINGH RATHORE WOULD BE DAMNED IF HE DOESN’T IMMEDIATELY FIX THAT!!!

wrapping Imlie up in a towel..crouching in front of her...cleaning the dirt from her face, from her hands, from her arms all the while keeping a steady stream reprimands going on like how stupid could she be for pulling his stunt and does she not have functioning braincells anymore and is she a fool for walking home alone as if he had stopped existing and could she not call him once to prove she’s not an absolute gadhi?!

and he completely missed the way she looked at him.

Oh, Aru.

AND OH IMLIE YOU TOO. WHO HAS FUSSED OVER YOU LIKE THIS EVER!?

my heart doing jiggy wiggy at the fact just how comfortable Imlie was with Aryan’s touch VS her utter disgust when Aditya tried holding her hand in yday’s epi? HAH.

and then my heart having a proper breakdown at how Imlie now THANKS Aryan!!! ARYAN! SHE THANKED HIM!! ARYAN WHO WAS READY TO HEAR HER SAY THANKS TO THE AIR TO THE ROAD TO HER CHAPPAL BUT NEVER HIM BECAUSE THAT’S HOW MUCH HE’S USED TO HER BERUKHI (Allah ki shaan yeh banda sharabi shayar banne se ek step durr hai cuz he has a classic mehboob that just don’t careeeeee for him!!) GOT TO HEAR HER SAY THANKS TO HIM FOR EVERYTHING HE’S DONE FOR HER! FOR TREATING HER WITH RESPECT. FOR SEEING HER FOR WHO SHE IS INSTEAD OF WHAT HER BACKGROUND WAS. FOR HELPING HER SELFLESSLY. FOR SUPPORTING HER TIRELESSLY. FOR JUST BEING WITH HER WHEN SHE HAD NO ONE.

SHE THANKED HIM FOR EVERYTHING.

I CAN NOW DIE IN PEACE!

yehi mujhe iss bandi se sakht complain hoti thi how she doesn’t ACKNOWLEDGE Aryan’s actions and takes all his favors like a selfish asshole. trying to hide it under the guise of “dosti mein thank you nahin hota” just doesn’t work because basic human decency demands you to be thankful when someone, ANYONE, helps you and apologetic when you wrong someone, ANYONE! I get that maybe the writers didn’t want Imlie to lose any power to Aryan and get burdened by his ehsaan so they made her be so aloof about his contributions but that just doesn’t work ya know. when you see ALL Aryan has done for her...continues to do for her...the barest minimum is for her to at least acknowledge it.

then came the heart-drop moment.

she tells him that with her marriage...a huge part of her died as well. the part that trusted in love, the part that trusted in the sanctity of relationship that are supposed to be all about love had died in the process. and while she cannot bring back those dead parts back, she can at least focus on her reviving her almost dead dreams and achieving them. isn’t that what he’s taught her?

yes, he’s been teaching her to focus on herself and her dreams and instead of wasting her energies into relationships and people that bring her no joy, no growth, no development she should instead focus on herself because that’s where she’ll get all these things. last time Imlie had gone through such an emotionally taxing ending of relationship with Aditya, she had told Aryan that she would shut off all her emotions like he has done and move on. that was the wrong conclusion of his teachings. this time she doesn’t tell him that she will stop feeling altogether but that she would now feel more strongly about her own dreams than the emotions she once shared with someone.

the irony here is that now Aryan wishes she would share those emotions with him.

i think it’s a wonderful conflict that’s been set between them. an Imlie who has loved and lost and doesn’t want to go through it again with an Aryan who has lost but is now beginning to love. what makes it more interesting is that Imlie sees Aryan as this selfless fella in her life who doesn’t have ulterior motives behind helping her so she’d be right to never suspect that his emotions for her run deep. khud bhi toh GADHA PEHLE NUMBER KA keeps using the “you my employeeee~” wali tune to justify all his actions.

gah i won’t even get into the stupidity of that again.

so yes, once again a very brilliant conclusion to one more track for AryLie that has brought them closer and maybe apart too than when whey were before this situation. next up is the SHAADI and UFF! I am so intrigued about how THAT’S gonna play out! 50-50 partners for life? but how?
