A very rough Sesshomaru in a woman's kimono. Well he was always wearing a furisode so I just threw in an obi on it. I may fix this up or not.

#the funnest part was trying to find colors for him and now that the color picking is over i'm less in a mood to finalize #inuyasha #sesshomaru #my art #i imagined he paired the kimono top with hakama but it could also go with the kimono dress bottom as well #in my heart i know rumiko introduced him thinking he'd be a wakashu character..#if she didn't want him to be a wakashu then why the furisode and fluffy thing from the coming of age ceremony? >.>#either way he looks nice in it.. the color of the kimono was originally going to be red but then it drew too much attention from his face #so i changed it to the kinda pale color it is now #i still kinda wish i went with the classic bright red but i don't think i'd have the skills to balance it with his hair #without making him look too much like inu instead of like a kabuki fem prince

Could a haori be used as a top part of a two-piece kimono or it is made so different that it wouldn't work? I was planning to buy a haori to turn it into the top part and use some fabric to make the skirt of the kimono, but I want to make sure first hahaha

Hi! To be honest, I’d advise not going that way ^^; Kimono and haori might look the same, but are in fact tailored differently.

A haori will not sit right if you try closing it crossed like a kimono for example (their fronts lack okumi front panels to wrap around your body). Haori collars are also pretty different (much narrower and always sewn folded), as are their sides (which have gussets inserts).

You can check how different kimono/haori are below (pic source):

Another argument against your plan is the difference between top vs bottom fabrics. Part of the kimono look is the “unity” going on the whole garment vertically. Even patchwork like kimono keeps that idea going, see katamigawari like this or this (I am not touching boro style clothing though).

If the 2 parts is for easy dressing, your best shot would in fact be to buy a kimono and cut it in a top + a skirt. You'd also be able to lenghten a too short kimono that way by adding fabric on skirt part which would be hidden by the top one when dressed.

Otherwise, you can find online sewing tutorial as to make your own kimono :) Process is quite accessible the hardest part to figure being the collar area. I’ve not tried it yet, but Billy’s step by step is super detailed:

Hebi no Hatake - "the fanged clan" AU

Sakumo and Orochimaru, both last of their clans, merge them by marriage. Kakashi wasn't born with snake-yellow eyes, but somehow he still has them, anyways.

Since he was 4 years old, Kakashi has been painting on the Orochi clan markings every single day. He does them around the Sharingan eye, too, even though it's so rarely seen. He's a clan brat through and through.

I based the wolf (is it Sakumo's summon? is it a nin-wolf? is it a random wolf?) on the extinct Honshū wolf, the subspecies is no longer with us since 1905.

one thing i'm trying to keep in mind while designing the cast of the resurrectionists is that they're all constantly changing clothes + ideally there will be ppl cosplaying these characters someday and i'd much rather see morana cosplays done in old btssb pieces that technically aren't things she wears than morana cosplays in cheap mass-produced versions of her canon outfits from aliexpress so i'm trying to make them all recognizable by a defining feature or two + fashion (sub)style alone

#like morana wears old school egl. tends towards skirts that hit her mid calf. prefers ruffles over lace. always has on rocking horse shoes.#usually is in some sort of deep red. wears a lot of vivienne westwood pieces. wears a lot of bows. and has a very specific shade of pink #hair w hime-esque bangs and braided twintails. so like. if youve got the hair and 1-2 of those things you're all set for your morana cospla #(also rectangular headdresses. she loves rectangular headdresses)#shi is also one of the good examples. shironuri w bright red lipstick and LONG false eyelashes for makeup. long red and black hair in a #high sidepony (which is at least partially crimped). she wears angura kei w a tendency towards basing her fits around kimono and not school #uniforms (bc she is. a grown ass adult. from the 1600s). she always has something on her head near the base of that ponytail.#her outfits often incorporate flowers or butterflies. she usually has some sort of timepiece on her. she likes printed socks/tights. her #shoes always have some sort of platform. and her main colors are red white and black.#dysmas doesn't wear any color save for white and black. any metal on them is silver. their hair is black and textured and covers one eye.#they always have a crucifix displayed on them prominently somewhere. they wear shironuri w dark makeup around their eyes and st peter's #cross drawn under their visible eye + black lipstick. their outfits are mainly black w white collars. they like moi meme moitie pieces.#they almost always have a crucifix at their hip. for shoes they tend towards a heeled boot. they almost always have on some sort of veil fo #headwear. think of them like a raspberry mazohyst choker come to life.#mara's going to be my last example bc i need to make the rest of them stronger. black twintails w bangs parted in the middle and pink #highlights. either guro lolita or menhera depending on which version of her you're looking at but we're going to focus on regular mara not #distant-future-amnesiac-reaper-mara . so guro lolita. she always has an eyepatch. she has long legs so she uses that age old talllita trick #of letting one's bloomers peak out to cover more leg. she tends towards blouse+skirt+apron coords instead of wearing a jsk or op.#white bright red and bright pink are her colors. usually wears gloves or wrist cuffs. likes printed tights/socks. likes border prints.#romeo.txt
