Parknova for the holiday season!

I've suddenly remembered that really sapphic propaganda poster that says "Do the job he left behind" and, in my spaced-out state, my brain mushed it together with Helen Park and Yirina Portnova...

- adler will walk by beck and nudge his chair, tap his shoulder. always something to get his attention, just to give him a smile. beck acts exasperated when he's interrupted from something but this is his favorite thing to see.

- before they have to part for any length of time, beck presses his middle and index fingers together, kisses them, and touches his fingers to adler's wrist. it's something he's done from the get go. to let adler know his love is there.

- adler has nights where he just can't get to sleep. beck does too, and they always stay with one another if they can, and talk. sometimes beck will pull out a book of poems, and read them aloud to adler while pressed against his chest, one muscular arm tucked over his shoulder.

- beck isn't allowed to arm wrestle adler in public anymore. they were arm wrestling and beck leaned in like he was going to kiss adler. portnova gagged and smacked beck upside the head while adler tried to be stonefaced. his heart was fluttering.

- portnova and park are similar, but have their contrasts. portnova is a little more blunt, while park is coy. often this results in either woman flirting with the other, and the other not getting it until later.

- portnova likes snow, but sometimes it makes park sad. she's not sure why. when portnova realizes this, she asks if park can tell her when the snow gets her down; and park agrees hesitantly. portnova stays in with her and they order food, spending the day/night watching movies instead of being around the snow.

- park is shy and careful about who she shows her scar to, and when portnova sees it she expects the russian to recoil. she doesn't, instead directing the conversation to the pride she has that park survived whatever gave her that. it's strong, she says. park holds that memory close.
