Most of us Asians are having these markets like these, but here in our country (for me) is unique. For foreign tourists or Filipinos born overseas, better to know about this. Wet markets (in Filipino, “palengke”), here are not just a place to buy fresh goods, save more, and go, but it also a part of our daily lives. We tend to look for cheaper to the other store with the same products, talking to the stall owners about most in the market, and understanding how they’re working and living. Being in these wet markets like these not just only snagging a deal, but also it is amazing to know about the culture of the people here. Yet, I grew up from the place were titled properties and informal settlers are coexisting, and one of the things we’ve learned is to buy something in the wet market. There are more to come in few days later, and thank you for viewing (though, I can’t tone down the exposure and brightness of these photos). after a while you took him to the Philippines, y’all weren’t dating (yet, him and nicole just recently broke up) back then but you decided to take him there because he was just so inlove with your culture 😩 ( we love a man that also loves our culture!!! )
you took him to the palengke, you took him to ride the tricycle and the jeep AND LET ME TELL YOU HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.
when you took him home, your family really loved him. they thought that he was so so sweet and so caring -- he was so SPOILED.
they even called him “pogi” that’s like his new nickname now and when you told him what it meant he was a blushing mess!
your family also kept on asking you if y’all were together and if he was your “boypren/jowa" he asked you what it meant you never really told him because it was embarassing for you.
as for his family, they really love you and adore you — even the Conklins love you and thought that you were just adorable!
as we all know we filipina/filipino’s love our family so so much — that was one of the reason’s why Conrad fell for you and why his family absolutely adores you.
so bcs he likes you, he does a lot of stuff LIKE HE EVEN TRIED TO LEARN TAGALOG WORDS and even researched how to like court you and all of that stuff HE EVEN TRIED TO COOK YOU YOUR FAV FOOD — he really made the effort YALL.
so he started to make ligaw and he was absolutely good at it — he even had your parents involved in all of his plans because he wanted to make sure that he was doing the right thing — it was honestly the cutest things ever!
eventually you said yes!
now that you guys are together, you started to call him “mahal” (love) he asked you what it meant and now he calls you like that too.
he would ask you to teach him tagalog words and it was so cute how he tries so so hard to say those words that you taught him.
it’s always been ‘mahal kita’ for the both of you because eversince he knew what it meant, he started to like the way it sounds and he thought that it sounded more meaningful so he started to use it instead of ‘i love you’ (i want this please)
he’d always call you “mahal” and “bebe” it was the cutest and you would always call him “bebe” because that was the one that made him blush a lot
OMG HE ONCE CALLED YOU PALANGGA AND YOU ASKED HIM WHERE HE GOT IT FROM he said he was searching tagalog endearments 🫠
“bebe, cook me sinigang please”, “mahal, where’s my kiss”, “bebe labs, bebe time please”
eversince he knew the word “bebe time” there was never a time that he doesn’t use it.
you would always talk to him in tagalog and he ABSOLUTELY adores it!! it was fine with him even though he thinks that you’re cursing him but still he found it cute.
but he hates it when you’re mad because you would take too fast and it would frustrate him and it always sounded so harsh when you would scream at him in tagalog so ever since the first time you did that, he tried hus best to not make you mad LMAO
his favorite filipino food that you make is sinigang and adobo - he would always tell you to make him some whenever you guys are together or just when he craves it
he also started to love jollibee because you would always tell him to buy some for you so he decided to try it out now it’s one of his favorites!
your favorite song together is from the band IV of spades it was “come inside of your heart — ever since you guys started dating he started to listen to a lot of filipino artists like ben&ben, eraserheads, adie and many more !!
omg when you got home from the philippines you decided to buy lato lato for him 😭 it was the worst decision ever because he wasn’t the only one obsessed with it, Jeremiah was obsessed with it too.
he just loves you and your culture, to the point where whenever it’s summer — you guys made sure that on the top of the list for your plans was to visit the philippines and visit as many places as you can <3 it became his second home and you love that for him. 😩❤️

6th of april. nag eenjoy ako mag google sheet, kuha ko na yung pivot table, madali lang naman din kapain. yung mga formula lang talaga nagpapa kumplikado nito e, waw yabang haha. nung high school kasi di ako nakikinig sa teacher ko nung sa subject namin na computer e. haha tsaka basics lang din naman tinuro nun.
feeling ko yung iba pang kumplikado dito, madalas ituro sa mga accounting students haha. naalala ko kasi nung nasa isarog pa ako, kapag nag reremit kami at gumagawa ng report lalo na pag nasa main office ka, yung trabaho dapat ng accounting samin na binibigay haha. naalala ko yung isang chart dun, parang pivot table tsaka bawal galawin. siningit ko lang yung gsheet ko for context haha.
anyway, nagawa ko naman ang agenda for today, maliban sa pagpapa full body massage. di na kasi abot ng oras, baka mabugnot naman yung isa kapag siningit ko pa haha. nakapag pa trim ako ng buhok, medyo hindi ko lang bet masyado yung nag handle sakin, hindi niya nakuha yung gupit, sabi ko kasi bawasan lang pero halos nag pantay na yung sa harap at likod, pahaba kasi dapat yun sa harap. wala kasi yung nag gupit nito nung una e.
nagpa removal lang din ako ng gel polish, tapos pina regular ko nalang muna. balak ko talaga gel polish parin sana kaso nalimutan ko mag withdraw, e cash lang tinatanggap nila dun sa pinapagawan ko. nakakatuwa lang din kasi kilala narin nila ako, tapos yung gumawa sakin, apat na beses na balik ko na dun siya yung nasasakto lagi saken. siguro siya nalng hahanapin ko talaga tuwing pupunta ako dun. haha.
after ko magpa nails, sakto naman na dumating na si J. tapos kumain kami sa inasal, never pa kasi kami kumain dun simula ng naging kami haha. tsaka di rin kasi ako gaano mahilig sa inasal, pero parang nag crave kasi ako sa ihaw kanina kaya nag decide kami na dun nalang.
pagkatapos kumain, nag grocery na rin kami para di na kami ulit pupunta ng Legazpi bukas. kulang kulang naman kasi sa sentro, sa palengke nalang yung iba na wala. medyo lagpas sa budget ko yung pinamili namin ngayon sa grocery, di ko sure kung mas marami lang ba talaga kaming nabili ngayon kumpara sa usual na nabibili namin sa LCC, or mas mahal talaga sa SM. yung LCC kasi dito yung parang puregold e, though meron naman puregold dito, pero medyo malayo kasi kaya madalas sa Ayala - LCC lang kami or sa SM.

sht tapos na agad 3days off ko. Grabe mahohomesick nanaman ako sa work. Sobrang sulit ng off ko ngayon. Daming nangyari, hindi tulad dati na matatapos ng madalian ang off nang walang nangyayare. Pinapangako ko na laging maging sulit ang pguwi sa bahay, dahil madalas lagi ako nagsisisi kapag paalis na.
Nakapag-bike kahapon (dapat gym kaso nakasara), nakapag-simba, tapos kanina nakapagluto ng Grilled Hamburgers (High Lands Patties pa binili ko para dun to treat ang parents. may kasamang pickles, tapos tomato, tapos lettuce). Tapos 2 days din kaming nag-lakad-lakad ng nanay ko ng umaga, napunta pa kami sa mini-palengke rito dahil naghahanap talaga kami ng lettuce.
may plano na ulit kami kaagad ng mama na Palabok ililuto namin next uwi ko 😀

random tot: diko alam kung ako lang ba, pero grabe ramdam ko hirap ng buhay sa paligid. kanina, sa grocery at palengke, parang kahit anong tipid mo, ang konti parin ng mabibili mo kasi mahal talaga bilihin in general. tapos parang karamihan ng tao na-aray sa presyo ng bawat tinda. grabe, diko alam kung dito lang ba o OA lang ako sa ganitong thinking.
