I always get confused when people talk about monthly clothing budgets... How often are y'all buying clothes????

Today was 35C (95F) and it’s not even summer yet. We're in the middle of yet another heatwave and it's miserable. I hate this. I hate that I feel so helpless to stop this. I don’t drive, I take public transport everywhere; we're careful not to waste food & very mindful not to overcomsume. No new anything just because. Sustainable fabrics only if we buy new clothes, old stuff gets given away or recycled. My tv is older than dirt, but it still works so I won’t be changing it any time soon. I’m obsessive about water usage, same about recycling and switching to fewer packaging products. Only candidates with solid ecological standing get my vote.

Short of not using the dryer (no room to dry the laundry, horrible memories to how much work that was) and composting (where? Where would I put a composting thing? It sounds so complicated) I don’t know what else to do. I hate feeling this powerless about climate change. Feels like there’s fuck all we can do to stop this from getting any worse because the people truly in charge won’t listen. And no amount of recycling will get them to change.

It shouldn’t be this hot. I should be fast asleep hours ago, but it’s so hot and I’m so angry and hopeless I needed to vent.
