kaz and inej are the OTP of all time fight me

SPOILERS

When the duology started, Kaz and Inej refused to admit their feelings even to themselves.

Kaz pretended to only care about the investment he made in Inej.

Inej pretended she didn’t care as long as she paid off her contract.

Kaz can’t stand to be touched. By anyone.

Inej isn’t a fan of touch either.

Kaz never opens up emotionally to anyone.

Inej refuses to show any weakness for fear she will end up trapped again.

Then they start opening up... They both start admitting to themselves that they have feelings for the other, but don’t tell each other outright...

Kaz goes into a murderous rage when Inej is hurt getting onto the ship

Inej is saddened when she learns he never came to check on her while she was recovering

We learn that Inej is the only one who knows even some of the truth of why Kaz hates Pekka Rollins so much

Inej is the first one that Kaz looks to when Van Eck is talking about his weaknesses - because she is his greatest strength

To save herself from getting her legs shattered, Inej instinctively yells that Kaz will not come for her if she is taken out of commission as the wraith, a fear she has long held deep down. Then when a runner bursts through the door to tell Van Eck his wife is missing, she switches to “oh you screwed now”😂

Kaz rips the city apart, threatens Alys just to get Inej back because he knows that Alys’s unborn child is the only thing Van Eck cares about besides his businesses.

Once they are back together, Inej and Kaz work together without even thinking. They’re a team. They instinctively know each other’s movements and choices.

When Inej tells him she is surprised he came for her, since it took so long, Kaz tells her HE WOULD CRAWL TO HER if that’s what it took.

Kaz offers to help with her wounds so she’s not in so much pain.

Kaz tries to let her touch him, and to touch her

Inej lets him touch her and soothes him when he panics

And finally..

THE MAN PAID OFF HER CONTRACT

BOUGHT HER A BOAT BECAUSE HE HEARD HER MENTION LIKE TWICE THAT SHE WANTED TO GO AFTER SLAVERS ON THE SEAS

AND SENT OUT PEOPLE TO FIND HER PARENTS - BY APPEALING TO THE KING OF RAVKA/STURMHOND HIMSELF

And most importantly - Kaz doesn’t do this out of any expectations. Just out of love, to show he would go to the ends of the earth for Inej, and how much she really means to him after years of pushing her away and pretending not to care about her.

And, you may ask, what does he do when he finally presents this to her?

Ask if it’s okay if he did all that, and if his tie is straight because he’s about to meet her parents.

Get you a man like Kaz Brekker except there ain’t any 💜😭
