You are getting my assorted human Otis doodles because. I am having thoughts about him.

You are also getting some of my jumbled thoughts enjoy

He's lived inside his whole life and only knows the outside world from what Wilbur tells him about it. He's only ever interacted with Wilbur and Old Whateley, the latter of which only coveted it for its power and relation to the Old Ones, and occasionally Lavinia but she avoided it as much as possible. He didn't get a name until he asked Wilbur to give him one when they were around four. Wilbur is the only person he cares about and it is overprotective of him. Otis also thinks that Wilbur is too small because he doesn't eat enough and tried to make Wilbur have a decent sleep schedule (to no avail). Lavinia can't stand to look at him because he reminds her too much of Yog-Sothoth. He ended up eating Lavinia because he thought she was going to tell people the truth about him and Wilbur and put them in danger. He normally is a big honking spaghetti monster that looks like this

And his form is unstable because he's mostly made of fake matter or something so he's actively fading out of existence his whole life. And the first time he ever goes outside is when he gets too big for his house and explodes it and he's about to fade from existence completely and it thinks Wilbur is dead because he didn't come back from the university. And then some annoying college professors zap it out of existence all the way can you believe the audacity. I mean I guess he ate a house but nutrition is important. And the whole time while he's dying and being chased around by nosy professors he is also freaking out because his twin is missing.

What are your opinions and hc on the Whsteley family dynamics? As in how was Wilbur’s twin and his relationship with their mother personally I really like Lavinia she is one of my favourite gothic lit characters but I’ve always assumed she maybe wasn’t the best mother not outright abusive but generally afraid of her children. Also, how were Wilbur and his twin's relationship growing up was it really healthy or strained due to maybe Wibur's twin thinking Wilbur gets special treatment seeing he’s allowed outside the house or did Wilbur’s twin not really mind? Also just add anything else you want to talk about I don’t mind

I definitely agree that Lavinia wasn't the greatest parent, I think she tried her best with Wilbur but generally avoided Otis out of fear, which caused tension in her relationship with Wilbur because he felt that if he looked any less human she would avoid him too. I believe Wilbur and Otis were really close, each of their main priorities was looking out for the other. I headcanon that whenever he was overworked or overloaded, Wilbur would hide in the attic with Otis and Otis wouldn't let anyone else near them until he was feeling better. My personal headcanon is that Wilbur was Lavinia's favorite child and Otis was their grandfather's favorite, and neither of the adults bothered to hide that fact, but both twins could see how it hurt the other's feelings and grew jaded towards both of their guardians. I think that Wilbur's relationship with Lavinia really deteriorated after Wizard Whateley's death, they got into a lot of heated arguments which upset Otis and Otis ended up killing her because he was afraid she would hurt Wilbur. Both twins are extremely overprotective of each other and can get irrationally angry over things that upset the other and go to extreme lengths to fix the problem. They are constantly fighting over which of the two of them is meant to be the responsible caretaker of the other, Wilbur is technically the older twin and feels like he has to be responsible for Otis but Otis feels guilty over Wilbur constantly having to take care of him and tries to compensate by coddling him. They are both huge disasters I think<33
