"I'm basically HR, cousin." Carmy reminds as he walks over to Marcus. "Chef, how's it going?" He asks as he rubs his hands together. "I have got our Valentine's day treats prepped, and I even have a cake prepared for when you propose to your girl." Marcus grins as Carmen rolls his eyes. "So, any big plans for tonight?" He overhears Syd ask you as you and her handle cleaning one of the other stations. "None at all. Why is everyone asking me that today?" You laugh, a sound that he can't help but smile at, as you walk over to Marcus with the clipboard he assigned to you three years ago when you began working as his assistant.
It was Sugar really who gave him the idea of getting an assistant. She told him, "you're busy. You can't handle your own schedule or meetings, so hire someone to do it for you." She was the one to pick you out from a list of candidates, and from the moment he met you, he was in love with you.
But, in usual Carmen fashion, he took forever to get with you. Convincing himself you wouldn't feel the same way, that you wouldn't even want to be with him. Until you told him first that you loved him and had been in love with him. From there you two were kind of like the Jim and Pam of the Beef, at least that's what Sydney referred to you too as.
"Hi Marcus. Oh, cute treats." You greet with a smile as you lean against the wall by his station, clipboard resting face-up against your front. "What's with that cake?" You ask, looking at the clipboard for any orders that may have been placed.
"Uh, I asked him to make it. Pete and I's anniversary is coming up and we didn't save any of our wedding cake so I asked Marcus to recreate it." Nat swoops in, smiling at you. You nod slowly. "Right.. well, congrats on your anniversary, Sug." You say before you turn and walk over to Carmen.
"Hey you. Clear your calendar because I am setting up a date night for us." Carmen says as he leans on the counter, standing in front of you. "Mm. Can I ask what we're doing on this date night or is it a total surprise?" You ask.
"Total surprise. I'll pick you up at your place." He kisses you on the cheek before walking off. You laugh before going back to your clipboard filled with Carmen's list of activites and meetings for the day.

You sat on your sofa, the dress you first met Carmen in on you. You figured with it being Valentine's Day, the nostalgia of the first time you met him would be nice for the date night Carmy had planned.
A small knock from the front door, and you stood from your spot and walked over to answer it. Fixing your hair as you stood in front of the door for a second, you opened it, expecting to meet Carmen's eyes. Instead, you found him on one knee in front of you, one hand behind his back.
"I was going to do this at a restaraunt. Or on the sidewalk, or literally any-fucking-where else." He admits with a breathy laugh following. "But, I couldn't wait. I couldn't imagine myself doing this anywhere else and of course it's like me to do this at your front door on your welcome mat."
"I love you. I've loved you since I met you, and each day that passes I find myself falling more and more in love with you. "They were. Sugar kept telling everyone, I'm shocked no one spilled." He laughs as well, wrapping his arms around you to hug you, burying his face in your neck. "Okay, seriously no Valentine's day will ever top this." You say.

"Is this her getting a promotion?" Richie asks with a grin as you roll your eyes. "If we had an HR department I swear I'd file a report against you."
"You're technically marrying the HR department." Carmen says softly as you grin. "Hell yes I am." You place a kiss on his cheek. "Hey, now as your assistant I get to schedule your wedding." You note as he smiles, pressing his forehead against yours.

Hi, can I request a platonic yanqing x sister reader that the reader who isn't on Par with yanqing in terms of swordsmanship gets injured trying to fend off mara struck monsters and immediately hides it from him and he finds out and is understandably upset his sister is not only injured but didn't say a word about it? They're the same age btw thx

Count On Me - Platonic Yanqing x Sister! Reader
“I win again!”
Yanqing exclaimed proudly with a small laugh, looking over to you he walked over, extending a hand to you as you lay on the ground panting, attempting to catch your breath. The only sounds filling the air being those breaths, as Yanqing smiled proudly at you with his hand extended. Slowly you took it as he helped you up. You patted yourself down and looked away.
“...Congrats”
You said, crossing your arms. Yanqings smile disappeared, his expression changed to one of concern.
“...Are you okay?...”
“Fine”
Was the only response Yanqing got from you before you left quickly in a small huff, ignoring his calls of your name. You wished you could be on par with your twin brother, but no matter how hard you tried. It seemed as if you’ll never be able to catch up with him. You saw people praise him including your father. And yet wanted the same praise. If there was only a way to show you were just as strong…
“Help!”
Looks like that opportunity came faster than you thought.

“H-hey, are you okay?”
One of the Foxians said, slowly going over to check on you, catching her eye, you looked away and were quick to run off. Running as far as you could before your legs couldn’t hold you anymore and you fell, clutching your arm your breath was a bit ragged as you dragged yourself to lean on a wall.
The events that had happened that led you to be leaning on a wall and fighting to stay awake was still clear in your mind, you heard someone call for help and were quick to check. Your eyes landing on a group of Mara Struck monsters attacking some foxians, you were quick to pull out your sword to protect them. You were still a Cloud Knight, though your rank was below Yanqings. Your job was to protect citizens, and that’s what you’d do. And you had managed to get rid of most of them, though perhaps you got a bit too confident or maybe you forgot to check your surroundings as a mara struck monster had surprised attacked you, stabbing you right in your arm, your grip on your weapon tightened as you struck that monster as fast as you could, the monster dispersing into the air as you quickly dropped you weapon to hold onto the injury you recieved. The fight took so long, and you were so proud to manage to defeat them only to lose concentration? Or was the beast that quiet?
You shook your head as you continued to try to stay awake, but a voice calling out to you made you turn your head. Spotting familiar gold eyes, your father quickly ran over to check on you, before you passed out.

When you woke up, you noticed that your injury had been bandaged and Jing Yuan sat next to the bed you lay in. His concerned expression meeting your tired one quickly.
“Are you okay?”
You stayed silent, looking away. Jing Yuan sighed, understanding. He had known how you envied your brother with his skills, and after being told what happened by the some Foxians who had quickly ran to inform him about what happened. He managed to piece together your reasoning to be so reckless. With a soft sigh, he gently patted your head.
“...I know you want to be as strong as your brother, but jumping into a fight with multiple mara struck monsters without informing at least one other Cloud Knight wasn’t smart…you know that right?”
He started, speaking softly, his eyes watching you carefully.
“I mean…if Yanqing found-”
“Don’t tell him”
You interrupted, still not looking at him. He looks back and sighs, shaking his head.
“That’s not a good idea either…look…[Name]. It’s not a bad thing to ask for help, you can count on your brother. He’s happy to help you”
“I don’t want his help…”
“...I understand that…but, he can help you train when I’m busy doing something and cannot train the two of you…not to mention, from my understanding he was the nearest. You should’ve asked for help”
You shook your head once again. Dead set on not telling him. Jing Yuan stayed silent as well, before nodding.
“He doesn’t know right now…and if you really don’t want him to know then fine…but he's going to find out eventually…please rest up okay sweetie?...I’m proud of you for defeating all those monsters”

You really didn’t want Yanqing to find out, and despite your fathers protest, you hid your bandaged arm away with a long sleeve and still attempted to train with Yanqing whilst Jing Yuan was busy. (Though he tried his best to get time off to take care of you)
“[Name]?”
Yanqing had called out to you during one of your sparring matches. Looking as you struggled to hold the sword with both hands. His eyes looking at you and your shaky arms. He put away his sword and walked over to you.
“...What happened?”
“Nothing”
You quickly say, but the look in Yanqings eyes told you he didn’t believe you. He reached his arms out and attempted to help you readjust your stance, but his hands grazed over your injury and you were quick to flinch and hiss in pain.
His eyes grew more concerned, looking at you. Before a small realisation comes over to him, he eyes your arm.
“Did you get hurt?”
“No”
“Then why did you hiss in pain?”
“I’m fine”
“[Name]...”
You don’t look him in the eye, putting your own sword away as you attempt to walk away. Yanqing was quick to stop you, grabbing onto your uninjured arm more gently.
“[Name]...I’m your brother…please tell me…please count on me”
You looked back at him slightly, and sighed out a bit. As much as you envied his swordsmanship, he’s still your brother. And you trusted him. So, after a small pause you explained what happened.
“You got injured and you didn’t tell me!?”
“...I’m sorry…”
“When did this happen?”
“Maybe a few days ago”
“You hid it from me for that long?”
Although Yanqings voice may be loud, it was filled with concern for your wellbeing. He was quick to ask why you hid it from him and after you explained what happened, he soon questioned why you fought a group of enemies on your own, to which you admitted you just…wanted to show you were just as strong as him. Yanqings eyes softened and shook his head.
“...You can’t train with an injured arm…it’s not safe…You are strong [Name]...even if you may not think that or think I’m better…but I promise you, I’ll train you and help you. Just count on me”
Yanqing smiled, extending a hand towards you, to which you slowly took in your own.
“But first, let’s wait till you’re all healed up okay?”

“I win!”
You smiled victoriously as you watched your brother slowly get up from when he had fallen. He smiled at you proudly.
“Well done! I’m proud of you”
I wish I could've though of a better name for this :sob:
