Been under a winter storm warning here in Canada as well as blizzard warnings. Winds gusting as high as 100+ km/h and temperatures feeling like -30C/-22F, winds making it feel colder. Blowing snow and white outs, as well as fighting the wind to stay upright while walking lol The storm increased intensity through the day and has yet to ease up, till tomorrow morning (hopefully). Took a few pictures and a video to show the storms intensity here in the open country when I headed to check up on things at the barn. Snow Day! Snow Day! Snow Day!

Perfect evening 4 a wintery walk near home. Commute home rush hour. This was our 1st multi day snowstorm of the winter. Thanks 2 @rolandbast last few posts I was inspired 2 get out & shoot something with snow & a pop of red. I didn’t get was I was hoping 4 but it did get me out 4 a walk.

Spending time doing something U love makes even a snowstorm enjoyable! Even if all the photos but 1 turned out it’s still fun & worth it. It was mild evening weather -1°C & this location is a 5 min walk from my place. Normally I stay in during stormy weather. But I think I just might be heading out 2 play in the snow 📷 more often.

I only saw 3 people. I guy was grooming the Ottawa River pathway 4 the begining of winter sports. I saw 1 guy walking his dog when I heading home, & just when I was leaving the greenbelt I saw a lady heading out with her dog for a walk.

A safety tip: when being in nature by URself especially in winter & at location without much traffic always have a power bank with U. Batteries loose power in cold temps. In case of an emergency portable power is a must in case U need help. Mine ran out of power today.

Did U know calling 911 in emergency if U can’t speak they only have a general idea where U R. They have to physically 👀 for U. I usually take a small power bank when I go out in winter. Today I planned 2 go out 4 a few minutes but turned out 2 B 2 hours, (I was having more fun than I thought I would). Note 2 self bring power bank all the time. Storm was on Saturday. We haven’t had power since.

Thankfully, we know people who have power.

Not a huge fan of this whole thing.

I've been without power since since Saturday, and I'm missing out on way too much since I've no internet (just using the last of my data plan). Getting a generator today to keep us going, because 4 days will be turning into 7+. We've no idea when power will be back on. Areas of Ontario & Quebec got hit pretty bad with the insane derecho storm & for some weird reason this small section of my town is one of a few not getting power back sooner.

Anyways, miss finding out what's going on with J2 and the SamDean goodness & of course cute cat pics. I tried reading "real" books but they do not compare to the quality of our fandom's fics. Need to download some long J2 & SamDean fics to keep me going.

What is it with this winter and all the storms happening late thursday night and all day friday. Like this is every week now, and so punctual it’s ridiculous. Only a few have lasted into saturdays, but like why does the weather want the province of Ontario to be 3 day weekends all winter?
