4. How did you find the name for a certain character?
I have the same process pretty much all the time I feel bad bc this is such a fun question or it would beĀ šŸ˜žĀ no ones named after anyone or like has their name chosen based on the meaning actively I just like look up names for the place and time period and pick whichever I think fit the character or I already have a name in mind when I make them. Iā€™m like wondering if there were any exceptions. Oh I did want my character Adamā€™s name to sound like a pseudonym instead of a regular name right bc heā€™s an SCP agent type like mysterious or whatever. So I used a stage name generator to find out his last name (Adam I just liked how it sounded + the fact that it was biblical). I also like the last name King bc he is also in a position of authority over the other characters at times so it makes sense I guess.Ā
14.Which OC/s do you relate to the most?
Kind of embarrassing to answer lol like this has to be at least a little personal. I like actively try to make OCs different from myself so Iā€™m not just projecting onto them yk. Like that would be first of all embarrassing LMAO but second of all it it wouldnā€™t be very interesting to explore I feel like. In my opinion itā€™s better to start with something you can understand, but like have layers of complexity that you donā€™t relate to at all or whatever. I donā€™t really know. But to answer the question I think I relate to like the 3 main OCs of Rocio Angel and Cirillo the most :P maybe Lucia as well.Ā
23. Have you ever seen something/someone that looks like one of your characters IRL? What was it like?
I actually havenā€™t that I can remember like not particularly. I have seen some people sometime where I was like ok I should draw a characterā€™s hair or eyes or etc more like them. Like bc I was trying to draw them a certain way but wasnā€™t 100 sure how but Iā€™d see someone who looked like them irl and I was like ok ok like that. Ofc Ive seen people with some shared traits, but no one who really looked exactly the same, no one where like I was like omg itā€™s like seeing them irl yk.Ā
In terms of seeing people irl that remind me of them though like vibes wise what I have seen is people whose clothing really reminded me of like certain characters. Like not that they would actually wear the same thing because I donā€™t live in a fantasy world in the 1940s but like that remind me of their personality like that they would wear it yk. One time I was like walking around in a city and saw like 10 people with really nice outfits trying to memorize them all to write them down and draw ocs in them later. I ended up doing one of them but I didnā€™t like how it turned outĀ šŸ˜”
27. What's the nicest thing someone has ever said about an OC/OCs?
This question is so embarrassing I have to admit I remember specific nice things people have said about OCs. I do remember specific nice things people have said though. It is hard to pick like 1 nicest thing. You saying Rocio had autism swag is up there. My irl cousin said a bunch of REALLY nice stuff a while ago she likes reading so it was nice to see her reaction. But like every time anyone has said anything like they like a characterā€™s personality or design or storyline or anything itā€™s really nice I definitely appreciate it and I will remember it forever <3Ā
34. What scene that you've written/imagined is your favorite?
Thatā€™s a good question. I literally donā€™t know at all. Bc I donā€™t have like all the details down for most of the scenes Iā€™m thinking so all the ones Iā€™ve like thought abt vividly just have a cool visual to go with them and thatā€™s abt it. That makes it sound shallow itā€™s not that itā€™s just like I like the emotion of the scene and the idea behind it but not really any of the specifics you know. So I feel like if I tried to pick one it wouldnā€™t be like a nuanced pick it wouldnā€™t be like because it develops the character in this way yk itā€™d be like bc itā€™s the climactic scene where this character almost dies and itā€™s so cool or something like that. Does that even make sense.Ā
Ok time to actually answer the question. I wish I had thought of more scenes that like show the dynamics between characters that I like bc my plan with that was to write it in wherever it felt intuitive yk. Like check up on the chastctersā€™ emotional states to see how theyā€™re reacting to plot events. I just realized as writing this I think I want to have Tiago live for longer. Ok ignore that thats not important ummm I think the only scene Iā€™ve really thought much about along those lines is the one where Cirillo and Laura meet again after a long time. I like the conflict there I like the characters a lot and I think it has the potential to be a very satisfying scene <3. Also maybe like denouement stuff where Rocio is like hi getting back from thr underworld was so annoying anyway sorry for almost ruining your lives and getting you killed. As you can see I havenā€™t really developed that part of the story yet but I think itā€™d be cool to see as well

The new showrunner wrote episode 8, so Iā€™m not that optimistic that S3 would handle the Kate/Edwina relationship sensitively or carefully.
Iā€™m of two minds - they love cheap drama so I can see them drawing out the tension more (yes they ā€œmake upā€ but lbr that relationship would be strained for years) or alternatively theyā€™ll sweep it under the rug and not address it again. I think Iā€™d prefer the latter tbh. The show couldnā€™t be bothered to properly set up and explore Kate and her family dynamic in her own season, I donā€™t think theyā€™ll care to now.
Who really knows in what capacity Edwina will appear atp. It might be only a cameo. Shelley Conn booked another role and is filming that now. Iā€™m not sure how they can explain away Maryā€™s absence but Edwina is still in town? Like thereā€™s literally no where else for Mary to be other than with her daughter. Though she barely featured S2 maybe sheā€™ll be ā€œthereā€ but perpetually off-screen. They can have Edwina marry the prince off-screen but come to London for a visit for an episode. Maybe when Kate gives birth? Idk his schedule, but Iā€™m not sure Freddie Stroma would want to return to Bridgerton for series 3 to marry a side character? Netflix is cheap so itā€™s unlikely theyā€™d offer a nice cheque to entice him.
honestly anon i feel like youā€™re going to disagree but i donā€™t feel the problem with ep 8 was the writing itself. it sure left things to be desired but i feel like the problem with a lot of s2 was that there was no time to truly develop some thingsā€¦ kate and anthony definitely got it bad, they had such little screentime, so many lost opportunities of scenes that would add so much to them (even with what was already in the show like an expanded library scene! expanded wedding conversation!) but i think the second contender for heavily butchered was the sharma family dynamic. SO many gaps left unfilledā€¦ i saw someone say it seems like they REALLY wanted the wedding in epi 6 and kinda worked the season around that which i def agree withā€¦ that leaves two episodes for the resolution of the entire emotional core of the season and yeah that just wasnā€™t gonna happen in two episodes esp when edwina is (rightfully) angry for the entirety of one of them. for what they had to do i really donā€™t hate the writing in episode 8 considering the episodes that came before it. so jess being the showrunner doesnā€™t really tell me a lot tbh i think if they have kate and anthony as a b plot and give them as much time as they did the featheringtons then there is definitely potential for edwina & mary to be there in an enriching way to the show
i really hope theyā€™ve figured out fans really donā€™t want the high drama they went with this season šŸ˜ i donā€™t think it translated well with book fans and casual readers alike. i definitely felt like i was watching a telenovela sometimes šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ which is a thing right but it doesnā€™t feel very bridgerton to me. it was a plot-driven season which made it feel a little contrived at times (at least to me) when i think it wouldā€™ve worked better as a character driven season. Ppl really arenā€™t tuning it to go oooh and aaah at grand weddings they are tuning in for the charactersā€¦ i hope they scale it back in s3. and while i think they are probably going to sweep the sharmas under the rug - feels very much like what the heads of the show have done so far šŸ¤Ø - iā€™m gonna hold out hope bc i love them </3
yeah i listened to the podcast char was in and tbh it definitely sounds like she is being very vague about whether or not sheā€™s gonna be in s3 so we shall see. i have a feeling they might do what they did with simon, mention them often but not have them appear šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”

iā€™ve already seen the spoiler about satoru asking y/n to hit him but fuck, reading it again just hurts so much. i actually ugly cried šŸ˜” just the mere idea that satoru is so broken that for him, violence against him is a ā€œvalidā€ answer; that heā€™s so used to being hurt that his initial reaction when asking for forgiveness is to go down on his knees and beg to be hit, because thatā€™s what heā€™s used to, hoping that with the pain comes forgiveness.
i know a lot of people think satoru doesnā€™t deserve to be forgiven, but the way that scene was written impresses me so much. itā€™s the culmination of all the pain and suffering he endured so far, the tipping point, at which all his emotions spill forthā€”from his fatherā€™s physical abuse against him, to the trauma of his mother walking away. and i think the scene in the hospital where his mom tells his dad that she wouldnā€™t have left him if she knew he would hit her son, hurt. so. fucking. much. that cycle of pain began with satoruā€™s father; his mother is not to blame, neither is younger satoru (ofc his response to the trauma by channeling his anger & pain towards y/n is a diff topic altogether), however, when that scene played out in the chapter i couldnā€™t help but think about how all this pain was like a series of wrong decisions. like when youā€™re playing one of those choose-your-own-adventure games and for some reason you keep making all the bad choices. and while they all again point towards satoruā€™s dad being the root cause of all these problems, at the end of the day many people were hurt, and i feel like showing a degree of nuance towards those who were wrongfully pulled into the eye of the storm, and understanding how they figure within this intricately woven web of violence and suffering helps in understanding not only their character, but the motivations behind their actions and the development they might be undergoing in the future.
i also think itā€™s such a raw representation of a broken character like satoru, whoā€™s both been hurt and has hurt in return. the guilt he feels towards causing y/n pain in the past is ultimately what brought about his decision to offer himself up to be hurt by her, since physical abuse is something heā€™s, sadly, most familiar with. satoru knows that y/n would never be physically violent with him, but in his desperation he still offers her that option because thereā€™s really nothing else he could offer other than that. in his mind, physical violence is what happens when someoneā€™s mad at him (and i think the way you described y/n from his pov as being indifferent and cold adds more meaning to his reaction). it doesnā€™t necessarily solve the problem, but it has happened for so long and so much that to him, itā€™s still an option altogether, wc i think really shows how the kind of abuses he endured fucks up the way one thinks, processes emotions, and responds to situations that trigger extreme reactions, such as abandonment, death (as seen later on), and in this specific scene in this chapter, divorce.
the way satoru views ā€˜commiting mistakesā€™, ā€˜asking for forgivenessā€™, and ā€˜responding to someoneā€™s painā€™ is so complex and tightly interwoven with the violence heā€™s received in his life, and the way you were able to expound on such a visceral response and portray it in this chapter was beyond brilliant. itā€™s so raw and real and i really laud you for being able to pull through and deliver.
thereā€™s so much i want to say but iā€™m afraid of simply going around in circles so iā€™ll just end it here. thanks for the amazing chapter once again, saint! please rest if you need to, and i hope you have a great weekend! this chapter is, i think, my favourite so far <3
helloooo aaaah this was such a great read !! thank u for sharing ur thorough analysis on gojoā€™s character <33 i love how you made a breakdown of every detail
