Oli’s episode inspired me to write for the first time in a long time! So here, have a snippet of Oli and Eddie talking about the baby!
“Now Oli,”
Oli blinked twice, mouth still open and hands mid-gesticulation from when Eddie decided to interrupt him,
“—you know you don’t have’ta put on a show with me.”
With a sigh, Oli deflated into the awaiting arms of the rabbit man in front of him. He hadn’t even realized he’s put his showman’s mask back on, he was so stressed out.
It took a minute, for the words to come. And in the meantime Eddie just held him.
“I’m not ready to be a father.” He murmured into the crook of Eddie’s neck, “just last week I was expecting the egg to be cooked! I was gonna eat it Eddie! And now it’s…alive. And I did that.”
“And I picked up some kid off the side of the road who talked to fast and loved to easy.” Eddie’s slow deep rumble fell over Oli like a waterfall, “and Maria said ‘what are you gonna do with that kid?’ And I didn’t even know. I didn’t even know if humans could eat the same food we did. And Sausage almost got sick with anemia at one point cause he wasn’t eating’ enough iron. I didn’t even know what was a thing food had!”
Eddie paused to laugh, and to Oli it was like a gut punch. A welcome one, to be sure, but he could never quite get used to the deep, thunderous rasp.
“…but he turned out okay in the end. And you know, there weren’t a lot of people in that town, but we all helped each other. I wasn’t doing it all alone.”
Eddie’s hands, so strong, with calluses along each finger, gently trailed down Oli’s back, such a simple action, yet the soothing effect was inescapable.
“And what’s a baby dragon in the face of a witch, a god, the rulers of the land, and us?”
Oli’s breath hitched, he couldn’t have heard that right.
He stiffened up just enough for Eddie to stop the petting, and moved back just far enough to meet his eyes.
“…us?” Oli echoed in awe and disbelief.
His hands clutched the front if Eddie’s shirt harder, as if he was scared of being pulled away.
“Well o’course!”
Like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Eddie does. "Very pretty."
"Do they always blossom like that?"
"Every spring, yes. It's quite the sight when all of Sanctuary is in bloom. It comes alive with color."
"Yeah, well - it's, uh - well, I know a thing or two about colour. And rainbows. Y'know."
"I am familiar with rainbows, yes."
"No, like, erm… the, uh… well it's nice," he finishes, strangled.
"It is!"
"And - and so is this."
"What is?"
"Y'know. You… and me… hanging?"
"Your company is very pleasant, yes. It's nice… hanging with you, Oli."
